I guess this is gonna be one of the rare cases of me reviewing a car haha. But overall, I really enjoy the car despite it being a very unpopular choice. Enjoy the review!!
You are the one that's going to be driving and maintaining the car. It doesn't matter what other ppl think about your car imo. As long as you own your decision and don't push the blame to other ppl when things go south. Even if bad things happen to your car it will turn into another great video.

Welcome to hybrid club, no more petrol points hahaha. I have a hybrid aswell, a full tank can last up to a month(approx 1000km) if just in city driving and going back and forth from work.

Congrats on your first car. I drive the 2020 Sonata and my girlfriend drives the 2020 Ioniq Plug-In. Love them both. If you have Iphone I highly recommend it over Android since Apple CarPlay is much better than Android auto.
Another thing is our cars can semi-steer itself if you hit the button that looks like a steering wheel along with your lane keep assist so it basically helps you drive.
We’re currently doing an all LED conversion for the Ioniq too since my Sonata has standard LEDs.

I drive a Vezel Hydrid (parallel import version of HRV). Love the quietness of Hybrid cars. The pick up is also not bad. You got a very good deal there. Congrats of your ride.

Btw, if you don’t like the “beeping” sound while playing with your entertainment system, you can “untick beep” at setting.
Then, this futuristic car has regenerative braking - This means when the driver brakes or takes their foot off the throttle, the energy produced is turned into electricity which is then chanelled back into the car’s batteries hence helping maintain or even increase the car’s range.
I really like the way you pay attention in every way possible to get the best out of your money! Just like me I subscribed to many credit cards just to get cash rebates, and that is used to subsidize my car installment for 2-3 months 🤣

Hello , ive recently used a ioniq using socar app . Rm90 of fuel from sungai buloh to pontian and back to KL . I did not go below 130km/h . Fuel efficient

A Korean car is really bang for bucks as long you don’t look at depreciation value, since value is only driven by demand and sadly in Malaysian car market it still isn’t up there yet with the Japanese brands.
The fact that you got it at a 31k discount is already so worth it.

the brakes are quite choppy and common among hyundai cars, the delay on changing gear you mentioned is due to the nature of dual clutch, not to worry there. btw congrats on your car this is rare and you stand out among the rest, korean car nowadays are much more solid than japanese cars. the engine is quite reliable just beware on the hybrid battery in long term

I'm saving for one right now too, it's not stylish at least it saves you gas, 625 miles of gas that's crazy. My car I have right now only has 375 miles of gas. Big changer

Congratulations for getting the car you like. No matters what cars, car price depreciate. But worth it to pay for the car you like. Just go for it.
Congrates on your new car. It is super good deal as even the new one are 2019 made. Your review on a car is well above par compare to auto youtuber, it is honest car ownership review which is more relevant. For the leather seat, the higher spec ones have it but used market not many can be found. Just head to some upholstery shop and you can budget about rm1k for PU leather. Do go for good tint too as good tint reduce your aircond work load and hence reduce fuel consumption. Enjoy the ride.

hey, iherng you have potential to do car reviews...is like the Noob guy Car Review perspective. I watch a few of Ioniq reviews before. But you pointed out a few pointers that other car reviewers didnt....Enjoy your car, is a value buy indeed. btw i rmb you said you got Tuai Residence video, but i couldnt find it. can share the link? im deciding a unit for my family of 4 ( 2 young kids) , currently is Tuai or Setia City residence (both are 1.2k sqft).. Tuai advantage is the material used is very good, but takes 3-4 years to complete, S.C.R pros are 3+1 settings, which is very useful to store things, since we have 2 young kids, and is ready by early next year. I prefer the layout of S.C.R but Tuai used of material is much better (It shouts quality), 150k cheaper and is residential title compared to S.R.C, and the toilet is huge, but a bit too big la.
So I dont know which 1 to choose...Currently renting a place, so should I continue to rent and wait for 4 years for Tuai to be ready or i can move to my permanent home (which is S.R.C) by next year.
Its nice to watch a normal car review from normal people and not from motoring journalist or a "car enthusiast"

Checked same model year here, equivalent in RM would be 90,000 brand new in clearance sale, only one available in all Australia, after that goes up to RM120,000 so I think you got a real bargain. Especially considering your massive Malaysian car taxes.
Good Choice , Hundai n Kia R top car 5, 6. Producers in the World Ok. I’m in Australia Now but Hybrid only 2020 Starts to come now whereas Toyota etccc has been 5 yrs Ago. I had Kia Sorento 7 Seater Turbo Diesel 2017 n is Very good Quality lah Cheers

Btw.. You can turn off option the auto start engine when you idle. There is a button like 'A'.
give it a good tint to reduce the glare... and heat in the car...

Sean, could you please share the process of getting pre-registered car? As well as a comparison between pre registratered and second hand car. I didn't know there is a pre registered car without worrying too much on adjusted mileage and total lost cars in second hand market unless we bring a sifu over to inspect b4 buying. So I guess you could share abit on yours perhaps it will enlighten Malaysian on this potential car market.. I agreed that it doesn't make sense to buy a new car if we can get a similar goods at a well protected condition just like the pre regi cars. Thanks in adv
Erm, the process is just like buying a new car. This is located in Glenmarie and the cars are located within their show room. I guess we should shop directly at dealers such as Auto Bavaria, Hap Sent and etc as they will have direct access to their cars.

And I have the blue one :) loving the car. Have driven for 2 years. Still love the car. No problem with mine. The only problem is cannot get points with my credit card bcoz I don't need to put in that much fuel per month. Cannot get the RM50 like I used to. Hahaha.
At first I had that reaction with the sudden engine sound. But now used to it aldy. U should use the auto cruise. Very smart one, can slow down on its own when near car in front. Feel very safe.

May I know RM72k is car price or OTR price? RM72K with such a low mileage is a steal! Recently I checked the second price of HEV Plus, for Year 2018 the car price is around RM60k, not to mention the mileage and the condition tho

dual clutch transmission.. pls drive like manual car (can't remember where i read this)
hyundai DCT is very reliable unlike VW DCT dry clutch. Just don't creep during heavy traffic or trying to balance on hillside by holding the gas pedal. During heavy traffic, move only when the gap between you and the car infront is wide enough to avoid creeping.
