- After having a quarterback and a premiere pass rusher, having a blindside tackle that can protect your quarterback is how you build a team in the NFL. Evan Neal, the left tackle out of Alabama is one of the best offensive lineman in the entire draft. Not only did Evan Neal dominate as a left tackle in his final year in college, but he also has experience playing in multiple roles. Last season he played as the right tackle and the year before he played at left guard. His versatility combined with his athleticism to mirror pass rushers makes him a very intriguing prospect. His ability to mirror is one of his best traits by far. In this video, I looked at his abilities as he makes his way to the NFL. In my opinion, he should be a Top 5 pick in the NFL Draft.

What do you guys think about Evan Neal? Is he the best offensive lineman in the NFL Draft?
Hey I love your content. I don't see much of this on CZcams and I just want to say thank you for making these even if people don't see them.
Really appreciate it!!! Trying to create more and more
In my opinion, he should 100% be the first overall pick to Jacksonville. They need to protect Trevor Lawrence at all costs, and Neal has the highest ceiling AND highest floor of any of the offensive linemen this year. I don’t think it’s a debate between him, Ickey, and Cross. He’s a better pass protector than Ickey, and he’s a better run blocker than Cross. I’m not a Jacksonville fan, but they better not mess this up. Draft. Evan. Neal.
While I agree, I'm salivating over a Josh Allen + Aidan Hutchinson combo in Jacksonville! haha. That would b eso much fun
Aa a Jax fan, they probably will mess it up
@@SamuelGoldNFL Would be nice, but protecting Trevor should be priority No. 1 for Jacksonville.
Picking Neal would also make the rest of the o line in front of Lawrence better. Neal at LT would let Walker Little slide to RT, which would be an upgrade over Taylor.
LT: Neal
LG: FA/? (I'd like to see them take Ed Ingram later in the draft)
C: Linder
RG: Barch
RT: Little
Agree with the position, but I'm taking Icky instead. 1A and 1B though. I just think Icky is a better run blocker then Neal is a pass blocker, and I think Icky is athletic enough and coachable to improve in that area. High IQ and good character, plus he plays angry and violent. You can tell he loves playing football.
I think Neal will be good though. I think like Andrew Thomas he'll need a year to adjust, but wouldn't be upset if they took him. Cross would be the #1 offensive linemen in most drafts, and maybe he be the best of the three, but watching games and highlights, he seems slightly behind at this point in his development.
Impossible to predict how some 20 year old college kid is can pan out in 5 years, so who knows.
Good stuff. Looking forward to your opinion on QBs.
We'll get there after the OL!
Hey is there any way you would post a possible projected draft from the hawks. Or a “what does the future look like for Seattle” video. I think a lot of people would want to watch that or just see what you are thinking
Do a video on who lions should pick #2
I see Greg Robinson all over again.
0:07 *Cincinnati Bengals press X to doubt*
Not the best run blocker, but he's an elite pass protector which is far more important at the Tackle position and overall is more important in a pass heavy league.
Damn bro :(
This guy Evan is Lozy
Easily the best linemen in this class and should be the first overall pick
I wouldn't say easily. Icky is pretty nasty!! They're the two best players in this draft though, and I'd put Hamilton and Sauce right behind them.
@@topspot4834 he’s good but I’m not sure if he’s the first pick
Happy to grab him at 7!
He just gave up 3 first half sacks to DeMarcus Lawrence... Could easily have been 6
Cowboys rookie Left tackle... Tyler Smith is a much better player
I do realize that this comment is being posted after having the benefit of seeing both players in action on a NFL field... But Neal was thoroughly embarrassed on Monday night football for the entire World to see
@@samstephens378 lol true
Is Evan Neal a better prospect than Penei Sewell?
Hmmmmm great question. I think they're close. I would lean Sewell but I think both will be top 10 players for a long time
Why didn’t this transfer to the NFL
It always showed on the tape but got accentuated. Problems were always there but people drink the hype kool aid (including myself, but this specific lesson has taught me a lot about scouting tackles I'll say that)
You can see the physical problems on a lot of the plays he shows even while hes just gassing him up with no clue what he was talking about.
All the balance and mirror problems are there just not showcased against polished NFL athletes most of the time he was in college. If he really fixes his stuff I still think he can be ok as a tackle but tbh waiting another year for a currently ass tackle to become a lower level NFL starter is fucking crazy. He can be a solid power guard and right now translates there much better and more immediate
@@rjharrold2907what do you think of Joe Alt?
@@takeovamxbc3403 Funny you should ask 😂
I have talked a lot about Alt both on youtube and twitter and I don't like him, hes overrated. Different kind of player than Neal because he has less anchor/power and actually pretty damn nice feet but he gets high in the run game the same and loses that leverage a lot climbing to the next level. He also leans a shit ton because of his lack of power and how high he naturally is. Its gonna get him caught in the next level by guys working speed, power, and hands at the NFL level but I do think he can be a solid guy in the league still. More of a late 1 type of guy though imo
Not having the feet deficiencies Neal has will help him be a bit better than Neal as a tackle naturally but Neal is a guard so hes pretty much the actual tackle equivalent. I'd probably comp Alt to Nate Solder right now, I mean its the same fucking build
@@rjharrold2907 Andrew Withworth? Mike mckglinchey??
This did not age well :/
I would take him first. Jacksonville has been missing on defensive line so many times they should just make a line for Trevor and James robinson
The video is short, because he is that damn good.
Agreed! Dude is really good
I'm from the future...
No, he's not
The best and a steal for the New York Giants.
1:07 he got tackled by his own lineman
So he really is a RT that played LT his last year. He won't go #1.
First
His physicals make him the best OL prospect
This proves that the college scouts do not know shit. Neal cannot block anyone in the NFL because he is too top heavy to play tackle.
Yikes dude. Bad OL scouting
