Loved everything upto the point where it states it's the same internals and then the knockout blow was the price
Because if they told us right away it had the same internals and was $800 they know most of us would change the channel.
absolutely hate the original reverb. what a mess to service and can't lift the bike by the seat!
I think that big red truck in the background is flipping awesome!
$800? The Magura post suddenly looks much better. Silver lining is that a 40 hour battery should last you longer than the reverb internals.
agreed, why pay 800 when u can get the magura!
@@BobBob-fk4wo while this is purely speculation, and based only on internet research, I believe the Sram would be more responsive to the controller and feels more similar to an actual dropper.
Dude, great comment! lol
There should be a class action lawsuit, this guy even demos the “squishy reverb.”
Magura post ia a joke
Im loving mine! Havent had any issues in the year ive had it.
Pretty sick! Digging the forward innovation, not digging the price. Need to hit the lever on the price and drop it!
Perfect upgrade for my wallmart bike.
Got one. Awesome post
Can we have a future video where two testers swap reverb remotes after they're sync'd. Predictable, but I cannot see that being anything other than hilarious.
Video quality boost much!
Yep! Have it on order. More batteries and less wires, take my money.
Fantastic. From Brazil.
I work at a shop, and I have a bit of dislike for Reverb post, given most of the issues have to do with the hydraulic lever than the actual post internals. I have see dropper squish in other brands as well so at least they are adressing the issue with what is a quick and easy fix. We have quite a few of these AXS droppers in the field with customers and so far not one issue not even any squish. One thing that was left out of this review that is kinda cool is that you can assign the dropper to any button in the AXS system so if you want your shifting like paddle shifters you can use the dropper remote as a shifter and then assign the dropper to either the up or down button on the right side controler.
That would be funny as to change it up then let a mate ride it lol gear shift drops seat etc lol
I’m often an early adopter, and love the innovation. Looks clean enough and the battery thing is a fact of life these days. Usually I don’t mind paying more to have the new tech but the price on this (and the drive train) is unreasonably high.
Fact of bike life?!?!?!
thats going to look great on my yeti
that truck is dope
+Pinkbike
That new Ergon seat 🤤.... Review/price/availability info/video coming up?
very cool, ill have one in 5-6 years
Will buy when everything is wireless, including brake calipers.
Nice Car, nice Videolook, grestings from Hamburg Germany
😵 its amazing
It will break, very quickly. It’s a reverb
it's a SRAM, SRAM is tin.
$800!!! Insane! Love the truck though.
prolly could get a second hand truck for $800 :D
Hey dude. What is that shock? And when can I buy that
It’s still a reverb that will eventually stop working. Or get a soft section. Best upgrade to a reverb is a transfer.
What about when it doesn't want to pop up like most reverbs
That's because the oil volume in the system is too low and the post doesn't get actuated. Bleed it. If it's in the cold, bleed it cold. It should fix things. This one doesn't have that issue since a motor actuates it.
As for the squishy dropper syndrome, it has a vent valve. I want that on the ordinary reverb!
@@Primoz.r Why put a bandaid on it? They are selling an $800 seat post with the same issues they've had and known about for years. Now I, the user have to fix it? No thanks. I'll spend less than half that on a post that works.
The price is way too high.
Good Presentation!
800 bucks is ridiculous!
Mtb industry is technicly so far behind. We should be having this wireless stuff since years. Especially considering the big need for this. As all the wired stuff makes us scream and throw tools around when working on it!
Every technical industry has it as standard and bike brands promote this as the big good new thing...
its a cool new toy, i dont mind the cables though
My next Bike will be a Pivot Mach 6, and like usual ill spend an arm an a leg on it. but ill be doing AXS drivetrain and AXS x01 with an NX eagle Cassette. Less wires= better
Do they have wireless rear shock lock out yet?
brain
The Fox suddenly looks very nicely priced
If it could have a feature to pop up other's posts
That is a lit of money, but if you don't have internal routing on your frame it is nice.
also aren't dropper post getting less expensive and better than when they first came out?
May i know what is the brand of the bike that in the video ?
might be handy if your swapping between bikes but otherwise too expensive for me
I think it's a cool piece of tech, but I don't think I could ever justify the extra cost over a standard dropper. In the end it serves the same basic purpose. At that price there would be no benifit in being able to switch the dropper from bike to bike as I could just buy multiple droppers for less.
Exactly. you can get good cable driven posts for 100$ these days, 8 times that is going to be a tough sell
Weight difference?
Full on luxury item at that price
As with all electronics devices prices will come down as competition gets on board. I can think of a lot of other things that I can spend $800 on besides a wireless dropper post.
hope lots of rich guys buy it so it can drop in price with sales volume. For now, way too pricey .. as you say, got to really hate that hose..haha.
What's the point, lost the clean look with that battary sticking out under the seat ,and I bet the only weight saving you'll have is you don't have to carry that 800 bucks in your wallet .
I want to love this... But I can't get behind the price point. $599 somehow seems more realistic.
Prices are now around 400 Euro (Probably won't go any lower)
weight ?
Dont know what u complaining about . I've got my reverb about 3years and never had an issue
If it went DOWN too.. that’d be cool. Almost pointless to be electronic if it’s not doing anything extra and just operating differently.
Are wireless brakes something that we could see sometime?
Sure.. if you want to spend 4 grand on your brakes..
What about when the battery runs out half way down the mountain?
Then you win the race!
Julian Drennan haha brakes? I call them coward levers!
You should have started out with the price of $800. So i could have saved myself the entire video.
I've seen it already ,like it but I find it should be a little bit cheaper.
Nope. My bike has zer0 batteries or motors to deal with before going for a ride.
April fools prank
You need an axs drivetrain or dropper and you need a friend who has one too
Switch your shifter with their shifter (or dropper remote) and go on a ride
As you start riding randomly press the button(s) over and over again
I wouldn't buy a reverb for $80, much less 800
Great idea, but having suffered through 2 years with a standard Reverb (UNRELIABLE/DOESN'T WORK IN SUB-FREEZING/HAVE TO BLEED ALL THE TIME). NO WAY!
would I give sram $800.....
Too expensive! At $800, this would be a down payment to a new bike.
Puhhhh
of course it is tu much money !!!!!!
Sram is smoking crack. That wireless system isn't worth $400+ more than the cable version.
Having had three Reverbs, their performance has left me unimpressed. Think I’ll swerve the brand from now on.
Nice video. No to this or the drivetrain. I'd be inconsolable if I wrecked a derailleur that expensive.
It's cool to see something new and this will probably lead the way for more wireless dropper post systems. But, at this stage it's not attractive to me. The lever looks chunky and the head of the post is simply ugly as far as I am concerned. I'd also be be little paranoid about the battery falling off the post. Lastly, there's no value in it whatsoever - unless you simply want to be the guy with a $800 seatpost (and we know you're out there), it has no significant tangible benefit.
As if I don’t have enough things to charge in my everyday life....and now I have to take a spare battery with me in case. No thanks!
The dropper battery IS the spare battery in a full AXS system.
My OCD kicked in looking at that seat angle......
I have arthritis in my thumb and pushing that lever is painful but for that money the suffering will continue.
Too much money. Heavier than most post, nice bleed feature and no hoses. How does the remote control speed up or down like you can modulate a hydraulic or cable lever, which I like
Seems like a silly way to fix the horrible plunger remote.
Now people are gonna hack other riders droppers in a race and drop'em down in the uphills 😈
$800.... Ouch...!
It's a Reverb? ...PASS!
I’ll just buy 4 normal seat posts with 800 bucks
Nope! $800 is crazy!
Im still waiting dropper seatpost which goes down without using your own weight.
Darn it...$800.....no thanks....$200 pnw seat post works like a charm.......
800 usd can buy new fox 36.. :)
Just like the shitty magura, there is 2 options. Up or down. That’s it. If you want any modulation you buy a cable dropper. Save your $800 for something else folks.....
Is this really a review where he doesn't actuate the device a few times in a row?
Too much money. I suspect it’ll be closer to $500 next year or the year after. Early adopters gotta pay the premium.
If it dropped and raised with the button, I might pay $800
reverb never again :D
Companies think that we would spend our money for ever on their sh*t. Give us a break, SRAM! 800 bucks? Come on!
Expensive...
Won't try it for 800.0 , I'm in Canada so that wound put it well over 1k for it, no thanks lol
shafted again
what is the point of this?
i was hooked until you said $800.
800 dollars thats a ridiculous amount of money
outrageous $800 for a cableless dropper post. i wouldn't pay for it
$800 LOL
For one : relying on a battery and a motor, aside from the ridiculous price to spend on a dropper...
Looks interesting but way to expensive. It’s like a flat screen TV a few years ago but you can get them at a much more reasonable cost now.
price is just foolish
Forst
8 0 0 $ heehe
800$ ?! Huww maybe a bit to much 😵
Too expensive
Your t-shirt is a size too big.
The cost is just too much.
Never .
Very cool tech but too much $$. Bottom line.
Too much buck for so much bang
Too much $¥£€
