+Kateřina Čechová I've got sixteen of her releases and I wish I could suggest one for you to start with but I can't. Just buy any one and I think you'll just HAVE to get the rest! Happy listening!
gord bard I totally agree, although I think personally that Revelling Reckoning is a great start. That is how I discovered her when it was released..one of the best decisions I ever made. And what a night listening to it for the first time with my (then) girlfriend. Incredible. Just like falling in Love.
oooh, if you never heard of ani before this, you got a lot of catching up to do if you like to listen! :) enjoy the journey thru soooo much (different) expression and amazingness
You really gave me hell, big talker Polluted the well You really spoke your mind, big talker At least your mind at the time Now I'm wearing your words, big talker Like necklaces and rings Just glad it wasn't me, big talker That said all those things Never before could I picture Even one foot out the door Careless words, careless words Say no more But now that that door has been opened It can never be closed Careless words, careless words I can never unknow I can never unknow Tried to keep my heart pure, big talker But it came out stained Tried to stay in love, big talker But instead I'm in pain I learned as a child, big talker Just shut the whole thing down That polluted well, big talker That whole polluted town And never before could I picture Even one foot out the door Careless words, careless words Say no more But now that that door has been opened It can never be closed Careless words, careless words I can never unknow I can never unknow No sleep for me, big talker Just one long migraine One that sparks and flares, big talker When I say your name Where went your love? big talker Cuz that's where I go I'm no longer here, big talker I'm searching high and low And never before could I picture Even one foot out the door Careless words, careless words Say no more But now that that door has been opened It can never be closed Careless words, careless words I can never unknow You can never unknow
ha interesting you choose that tune to mention here... i love it. i always find it interesting that it was only a 'bonus' cd track to the debut album ani difranco (like not on the original cassette release). tis one of my very faves of her early early songs... i sing it a lot to mySelf
This song is so bad. It's lazy Ani writing. Scribble-strum a few alt chords (read chords off from the main scale by a note), with a hammer on. Ani has gotten good again, but please skip all performances from this era.
For those of you just finding Ani; she rocks. Extremely fun and talented. Poetic and lyrical. She has lots of records. I recommend them all.
oh my God.... she is the embodyment of perfection. omg
pretty much eh :D in that beautiful imperfect ani way....
I love her💗.
How does anyone get over a breakup without listening to Ani?!
this song rocks... especially live!
Comrade Ani DiFranco, love this woman.
Wow, I've never heard about this woman. This is pretty cool. Chaotic, passionate. That's the way I like it.
+Kateřina Čechová You've juste discovered a Diamond then :)

😯😯😯 It's Ani fucking DiFranco! So happy you discovered her finally, shes been my best friend friend for years!
I love you!!!!
I miss her shit from back in the day. Play Shy, dammit.
‘Garden of Simple’ too
this song is awesome. plus she plays shy all the time!
I like her new stuff better, mostly because I discovered her in 2020.
Sure like her sense of humor. For a woman who's ill (at this moment here), what a deft performance
Ani ✌🏼❤️🌎
You really gave me hell, big talker
Polluted the well
You really spoke your mind, big talker
At least your mind at the time
Now I'm wearing your words, big talker
Like necklaces and rings
Just glad it wasn't me, big talker
That said all those things
Never before could I picture
Even one foot out the door
Careless words, careless words
Say no more
But now that that door has been opened
It can never be closed
Careless words, careless words
I can never unknow
I can never unknow
Tried to keep my heart pure, big talker
But it came out stained
Tried to stay in love, big talker
But instead I'm in pain
I learned as a child, big talker
Just shut the whole thing down
That polluted well, big talker
That whole polluted town
And never before could I picture
Even one foot out the door
Careless words, careless words
Say no more
But now that that door has been opened
It can never be closed
Careless words, careless words
I can never unknow
I can never unknow
No sleep for me, big talker
Just one long migraine
One that sparks and flares, big talker
When I say your name
Where went your love? big talker
Cuz that's where I go
I'm no longer here, big talker
I'm searching high and low
And never before could I picture
Even one foot out the door
Careless words, careless words
Say no more
But now that that door has been opened
It can never be closed
Careless words, careless words
I can never unknow
You can never unknow
Eleonora Troncatti thanks!
cool! peace2u! eric
If you like this song try ‘letting the telephone ring’ off one of her first albums

I absolutely love Ani, but this song is terrible. If you're just getting into her, go and watch Swan Dive, Untouchable Face or J.
Ouch. Music is subjective, buckaroo.

Allergic to Water is a solid album. Binary is absolutely awful.
i completely disagree... i love this tune and i think the guitar playing is awesomely ani
