I'd think Amsterdam would be smart to put dumpsters near the canal with a sign saying "Abandon your bike here" It would save having to fish them out of the canal.
I’m wondering if they’ve found any human bodies yet. I’m sure if they ignored the bikes eventually they would be piled up out of the water. A the claw should be magnetized so smaller items could also be removed.

the new harvest...bikes are grown on mudbanks as we all know... in late autumn they are harvested.

I think most of the bikes get in the river by people who just throw other bikes in that are parked
Great ideia the sad thing is that no one is abondenig them it just fails on the water and no one goes there to take it back

Not many bikes are made of steel. Most are aluminum or composite

i would put a team of divers in and put a floatation device on each bike. instead of only one person hire quite a few and get a better job done
