people who actually speak maltese can tell you that the lyrics of this song make no sense at all and at times are a bunch of giberrish. maybe it's why it did not appeal to the maltese public as much as it did to the rest of europe.

I hope Aidan will one day represent Malta at Eurovision because he just got everything for him! He has a great voice, good stage presence, sings in Maltese... This was the perfect song for ESC!
And would have had better chances, even in the harder 2nd semi. But when Romania qualified, I don't see why this one shouldn't have, especially as Aidan is a great live performer. Malta wasted a big opportunity here. Sometimes I think that Malta is scared to send a Maltese entry.
I think if aidan was the one to go to ESC, he would take Estonia's spot at the final. I mean, I really liked 'HOPE' and I love Stefan, but his performance was very affected by the "Kinect sun". I was afraid he wouldn't make it because I thought his staging was weak.

Something I like in this clip is the fact that Aidan doesn't pretend to be someone different than he was on the stage - he still doesn't have amazing vocal skills, he does not make riffs or any vocal illusions, he still dances well but not very well, he still looks a-little-sexy-a-little-drolly, he is not big sexy man with muscles.

Such a loss that this didn’t represent Malta this. I don’t even remember what the song was this year from Malta it I’ve listened this one time and it was an absolute hit for me. Not to mention the added value that he sings in Maltese. This just proves that you don’t need to win (or even go to Eurovision) to be a winner.

Incredible language, i first heard it in my life, thought is mix of Greek and Romanian(that Latin vibe) just by the sound, but more i listen to it, its actually pretty unique, and i know like speak 7 language so i have every right to say its damn Unique
Maltese is a fusion language mainly derived from Arabic and Italian/Sicilian, as well as around 20% English (jumbled into Arabic grammar) and even a few French words, due to Malta being colonized by pretty much everyone. It shares many similarities to the dialect of Arabic spoken in Tunisia and Morocco and Algeria which are able to understand some of Maltese. What sets it apart is that it's the only Semitic-derived language in Europe and which is written in the Latin alphabet.
@@mastermaltese8731 Italian, English, French and Spanish words put into a Semitic framework, which makes this fusion so interesting: Ċkejken ( Spanish Chico given the Arabic diminutive, twapet/ tapiti ( tappeto from Italian given the semitic plural, Plakka/ Plakek (Plugs from English...given the Semitic plural), trabixu from French ....tire bouchon...and many ...many other words...that make our language an archive in itself) ....😃
