The Big Return Of The Golden Mask...

- In this metal detecting episode I'm returning to a location I partially hunted with the XP Deus and its 11" coil. This time I brought another detector with me, the Golden Mask WD 4 Pro (a machine I haven't used in years).
I have chosen it because of its smaller (7") coil and a lot of iron in this area (I also needed a change - I made this video, before the loss of the Deus remote control).
The Golden Mask performed very well (of course there is no reference point when it's the only detector I had with me, but still). The only problem I had was the presence of ground noise, despite a correct ground balance value. Occasionally noises over more mineralized spots can easily be mistaken for faint, deep signals.
I could probably turn the G.B. knob more to the left, which would help, but also reduce a little bit of depth. I will have to make another test in the future.

I would consider this hunt as an absolute success. I approached the spot from a different direction and haven't really overlapped the area detected with the Deus.
I felt (possible) potential when I left this place the last time, but the outcome exceeded my wildest expectations. The "quality" of the finds raised, compared to my last visit.
The silver ring was like a bonus on top of a previous bonus... I really enjoyed the whole detecting experience. I wish, I would stumble upon more places like this with a lot of iron and good targets between.
Maybe I should have waited, until the boars come out (to capture them on video), but it was a huge risk. I was afraid that they couldn't hear me and should they come out without noticing me, they would be right in front...
Maybe small boars would come out first with their huge parents behind. Would my presence surprise them, who knows how everything could unfold... I decided to play it safe...
I hope you liked this episode, although the hunt took place in a very small area.

Hi, the Golden Mask 4 pro was one of the first metal detectors that I used, it gave me a lot of satisfaction in my research and it remained in my heart ^ _ ^.

MetalDetecting24 i am from Bulgaria and this detector is Bulgarian made. I have a XP Deus with 11 inch coil. But every time when i go hunting with my friend who have Golden Mask 3 he is killing Xp deus every time with more findings.I know that the best combination is Golden Mask 3 with POWERBOX and bigger coil . And if you try it you will be amazed !!!

golden mask is amazing for seperation , when you got that signal for the silver ring , the detector easily picked it up with that iron there

That machine seems to be more productive than the Deus although older technology. Another good hunt. Are you going to see if you can find the missing Deus part or just write it off ?.
Robin - hello :). You mean the Deus remote? I already found it after months in rain and now, but I never tried to activate it :). I will do it some day, but for now I'm more happy with my headphones and its volume control. I hated the remote for the lack of it.

I love the silver ring with the yellow/orange stone. But right as you pulled the soldier out of the ground, I told my husband you found a Prussian soldier, and on the screen... Prussian. My husbands family is Prussian. And served the King of Prussia. I like that the tone is a higher tone than the grunt of iron. You can tell if there are 2 signals in the same vicinity. Your leg seems to be doing better, I hope. Looks like Lion and Father are pleased with the Golden Mask. IN TEMPESTATE SECURITAS is Latin for 'security in the weather that's on the back of the St. George the front is: S GEORGIVS PATRONVS which is Patron Saint. may be from WW2

but,,the deepest machine i have ever had is the Nautilus,,totally the deepest,,never came away with less than a pocket full of finds,,no longer available ,,but i was told it maybe now in new production,,i would like to think thats true,,,?

Das mit dem "Fund ausversehen über den Müll entsorgen" kenn ich 😒. Ich glaube kaum das die Schweinchen von dem Bächlein beeindruckt gewesen wären welches du als "Schutz" gewählt hast. Well, sometimes you just need a change. I like using different machines (from time to time), but I prefer the Deus mostly because of its ergonomics.

PS mine is the 15kz uk gm1, fixed for wet ground,,awesome likes deep hammered,,n dont like coke,,so if you have the wonderfull £1500 XP you WILL know what i am saying,,,this machine will in any sircumstances in the UK (apart from wet beach as it cant work),,will kick the arse of any other,,with exception to Maybe the Minelab 800 which works anywhere ,but inland this will find more than your current detector,,,for NO MONEY ?,,,yeah but thats the TRUTH,,,?
I've seen some videos of the GM1. Impressive performance (not only) for its price.

i would like to add,, if you want ANY detector to be able tp tell you ,,the target is shit ..this is not shit for certain ,,you will be VERY DISSAPOINTED,,,learn to use the machine ,you will then ,by spending time ,find more great finds,,high tech cant do it all,, so its not an easy ride,,dont try to BUY your way into finding the gold..!
