Lol. The crate he had to get into with a crowbar is definitely a great blokey gift. A toy & gift in one! And I love the cards. Great colour creations for the beer & whisky! And love the details on the glass & ice.

I got my husband a fishing gift basket. Yet his card was based on paw prints for his love of our pooch. The kids (now 28 and 30) got him themed gifts and cards so I tried to cover more of his loves. Haha.
I sooooo appreciate people who diecut out of the matting layer. I watch so many creators who cut stuff like a sentiment or die cut right out of the middle of a piece of card, then cut it out creating so many scraps, or dab their whole ink pad down to get a few tiny splats then wipe up the leftover with a cloth and cringe every time. I’m sure they can afford to waste the supplies but so much ink & cardstock & stuff ends up wasted, that could be made into something so cool.

As I'm watching this on June 24 (I live in East Texas), it's about 96 degrees outside. I had to chuckle to myself that you are wearing a long-sleeved sweater in part of your video. I'm sitting in an air-conditioned house, under a ceiling fan, wearing shorts & a short-sleeved T-shirt, fully appreciating that I gave myself permission not to work outside today. LOL I actually HAVE worked outside quite a bit the past few days, so I don't feel at all guilty. :) I love how your cards came out, Kelly, & thank you for using alcohol inks as well as the Copic refills to demonstrate mixing colors. I have the Ranger inks, but not marker refills (nor alcohol ink markers, for that matter), so this is perfect for me. I'm sure your husband & FIL loved their cards, too. I laughed when you described the mini crowbar to open the crate. I recently read a review on a torpedo level I am planning to buy that the woman who wrote it complained about how difficult it was to open the hard plastic packaging. Apparently even her husband had issues with it. Maybe that should have come with a crowbar as well...? LOL Anyway, thank you for sharing your art, and for the giggles. Love the card. Keep the guy card ideas coming. I will have to look into the crate thing. I've been getting my husband a whiskey advent calendar for Christmas the last few years and he loves not only tasting the different whiskeys, but seeing my face when I take my own tiny sip.

Fantastic cards Kelly! I hope your husband enjoyed his crate. My boys (24 & 26) have been purchasing the Man Crates for each other and occasionally for my husband over the last 4 years or so. They all love them. They are even good for non alcoholic crates. Some favorites were the popcorn crate and the pasta one. And yes, they all love the mini crowbar to open the wooden crates. lol

Excellent job!
Just a suggestion on your vellum ice cubes, I have 4 inch tear tape or you could use double backed adhesive. Pull off adhesive on one side and put on back of vellum. Die cut out your image and then remove the backing and place on your project and you can’t see adhesive since it covers the entire surface.

I keep wanting to invest in alcohol inks as I am using my markers to do background pieces at the moment with isopropyl, it works but the effects aren’t quite the same. Xx
