The first time I watched a video on this channel I think I was maybe 15? And was always sad that I was DEFINITELY too young to see a Voltaire show. And now I'm 23 and I still love your stuff. Cool video and nice to meet your fiancé, I wasn't able to carve pumpkins this year so this is a good way to still enjoy that

Time to go on a brief rant because seeing this has reminded me how happy these things make me. I've been a fan of Voltaire for quite a while, hands down my favorite musician not only in music but in general behavior and the community he's built. Quite a lot of the music has helped me through some rough times (such as Innocent, which has helped others I've shared it with as well) and seeing these little videos every once in a while always puts a smile on my face. I don't stop by every time to watch but when I do I'm always glad I did, and there's just something so emotionally healing about hearing that laugh.
Voltaire really is a gift to this world, and I know I and many others will never forget all this positivity.
Their matching thrones and outfits make my heart sing. 💜

I love her pumpkin; it's simple, yet unique.
I wish I had photos of the intricate designs my ex used to do on his jackos...he'd even cut out flame bits to insert into the eyes with toothpicks because that way the flamey bits didn't shrivel down as fast. Too much fun! So glad we get to hang onto a bit more Halloween fun as we are almost into winter (I count Dec 1 as First Day of Winter, just like the meteorologists do.)

Yep! Every year, I’m always blown away at how big door to door trick-or-treating still is, and yes, traditional costumes are still big. I even see a handful of homemade costumes!
I have a Dremel tool that is specifically for carving! It helps with some bits! Also, if you find enough light isn't coming through smaller holes, go back in with a knife and carve out some of the edges inside the pumpkin. (You guys didn't have this problem, but it's something folks new to carving might not know!)
Just watching this makes love Halloween more even when October was over awhile ago i still enjoy watching stuff related to it because it's a fun Holiday

I'm so happy that you shared a recipe for roasted pumpkin seeds too! I've been carving pumpkins & Funkins for years, and have been telling myself I'd look into roasting pumpkin seeds with what remains, again, for years on end now and never got around to it. Figured there was a lot more research to do because I had it in my mind that there were carving pumpkins and then there are cooking pumpkins.... but no, it's that easy. :O I know what I'm trying next time we get a live pumpkin to carve!

Loved Mayumi's Jack O' Lantern. It had an almost Dia De Los Muertos feel to it. Instead of a sugar skull it kind of looked liked a sugar pumpkin. It's great. LOL! 😄

You can also use the parts you have cutting off the pumpkin to make a delicious jam. Just cook with sugar, clove and cinnamon until dissolve (I recommend to add grated coconut too). It is perfect for filling pies, cakes, breads or just eating plain.

I'm surprised you didn't boil the seeds first, but they looked delicious.
Also, a suggestion for pumpkin carving: open up the bottom instead of the top. That way, if you have a pumpkin that's lopsided, you can just carve it to balance! Either way, though... those electric pumpkin cutters are only good for fumpkins.

So enjoyable to watch you two!! My favorite pumpkin trick is to cut out the bottom instead of the top. Then you can just lower the Jack O Lantern over the light source. I never heard of using butter on the pumpkin seeds, sounds fabulous!!! Trying that next year!! 🧡🖤🧡🖤🧡

It takes a lot of work, and there are things like Soil and Regional Environment to think of.

@@FilmmakeroftheFuture Make a Chicken Wire mesh cage to put over it,so it gets plenty of natural air, sunshine, and rain.
When you take care of it just lift the cage away, put it back when you are done - but it might need to be a bit big (3 or 4 feet in all diameters would be best) because they start out as little Flowers but after that the growth rate is unexpected.
Start a compost pile now, then once spring comes, throw your seeds in that. Compost piles tend to be warmer then the surrounding soil (decaying matter = heat) so you'll get a jump on planting early.
Cheap compost piles are normally either chicken wire (a pain to work with!), or pallets, which you can tie or wire together. The only problem with pallets is you don't know how 'clean' they are. Starting any kind of garden, you want to use non-toxic materials ! Lots of videos on CZcams. Try to videos from someone in your gardening "zone".

This year I carved my Jack-O-Lantern for the second time in my life.
I placed it on the intersection with the main road runnig next to my block at sunset, sitting atop a three-feet tall carboard box covered with a black fabric and with a candle inside.
The morning after it was gone! Only the black cardboard monolith was left. 😭😠
I take it must have been fascinating!

I do have a question, was kind of wondering what guitar brands and strings you use, also do you sell sheet music for your songs?
I typically buy Takamine guitars. I'm not fussy about strings as long as they are thick and color coded because I'm dumb. LOL! I don't sell sheet music as I neither read nor write music.

I actually got exhausted carving my Halloween 1978 inspired pumpkin his year. For some reason, the pumpkins this year in SoCal had extremely thick rinds. You could have cracked someone over the head with one if you wanted to.
Those electric pumpkin kmives never really work right since they"re thick. So it's better to use the old elbow grease. Happy to see she finally carved a pumpkin for the first time. Great video.
