Needed this, I knocked my mate off his bike and the speaker stopped charging, I had the charge 5 and gave it to him for his broken xtreme 3, took it apart and the 2 wires in the back of the charging ports were unplugged simple fix and now got an amazing speaker thank you for this video

Found you channel after searching repair info for a JBL Flip 3 I picked up in the e-waste collection bin at a shop nearby, I repaired it by just replacing the USB charge port assembly, and now it works great. I hope I will find more of them in the future, in e-waste or fleamarkets, most users would not bother trying any repair and throw them away sadly.
Really nice build quality and clever design. Evrything is detachable.

Thanks for the video, I disassembled it, installed an AirTag and screwed it back together completely. Now my xtreme is safe from theft💯👍🏽

because its satisfying, i started watching this videos recently, then i asked upfront a jbl go 3 for my birthday, its only one week since it arrived home and the jbl sound and quality is just another level, i don't have the budget but if i had it i would definitely buy another one.

Over all the teardown video is awesome but I recommend next time first remove the battery to avoid accidental damage
Oh my gosh, thank you very much. Thanks to you i was able to open my speaker and found the problem.
Problem:
My speaker won't turn off. It won't even turn off on its own, even if reached it's lowest battery percentage and when it's played in low bat, it creates static sound. The speaker wont even reset. To make it work normally again, I have to attach it to a charger or just charge it full again.
Solution:
The problem lies at the battery. So I opened the speaker up and found a wire connecting to the battery itself and a detachable plug attached to the board. So, I plug it off carefully and plugged it in back. It's fixed again.
Turns out the the wire was loose. 😂

very interesting, my xtreme 3 is very different from yours, mine doesn’t have a couple of foams and the LED for the battery is also different, i just bought mine two days ago
It depends on the model number, there are two models. Please check the label behind the flap for the charging port. The number begins with ND or with GG, these models are different.

I have not try on the extreme 3 but it's very possible it'll work. I've try that one different jbl model Bluetooth speaker and it work
Hello. I have the first Boombox 3. It is of the age, where the battery does not hold its charge anywhere near as long or much as it use to. I have contacted JBL as per a service or maintenance to REPLACE the battery. But I have had no response nor return on being able to replace the old battery with a new battery. Can I be asking you for advice. I live in the Unite Kingdom. Everything else with my boombox 3 is good, just the battery is near dead. Thank you.

The size of the extreme 3 it's very similar to extreme 2 the way look at it it's pretty small for it's size but surprisingly it does more sound and bass just like a boombox 2.
Nah it's far from Boombox 2, however it does indeed have deeper bass than Xtreme 2

Just glad they're using 18650 batteries by the looks of it , polymer batteries swell so bad i couldn't get it out , currently stuck trying to get my old flip 4 battery out.

I find it easier to open the grill and put it on top of the enclosure and make sure it goes in first...once u know it is Center you can work on snapping on each side...

What if you replace battery with an 11000 mAh battery?
as long as its the same volt, the mAH of the battery will determine the playtime of the speaker.
But I thought Xtreme 2 had 10ah battery
JBL had way more space for a bigger battery pack and they went with 4 18650 .. I have the Xtreme line up get some good upgrades with the Xtreme 4
