  • ... And I upped the brightness a lil bit...
Bit of a silly title. XD Well aware there's already a video of this up, BUT it doesn't have most of Wesley's rambling, sooo I thought I may as well grab it. Clipped from SE1EP11, cuts off just before the credits play. Sorry for the slightly choppy editing. Movie Maker is a bit of a jerk when it comes to precise splitting e_e'
Hope you enjoy! Fingers crossed I don't get killeded or whatever by CZcams

His confidence and calmness even as she's pointing a loaded gun at him. He just tries to manipulate her into believing it's not loaded. Then the look on his face after she shoots him the first time. He's genuinely confused. He really can't believe she actually shot him.

I’m surprised Fisk never made Wesley wear bullet proof armor considering how close up he’s always near dangerous targets.

Wesley was not a monster, even though he worked for a monster. He was conscious in his acts to protect Wilson Fisk even when those acts involved threatening others with subcontracted violence or presenting his boss with options on how to deal with those people.
He was also incredibly well presented, courteous, polite and respectful towards others without hatred for them just acknowledgement of their existence because Mr Fisk was always his top priority.
I liked his character very much and the actor who portrayed him did a wonderful job.

He's a monster just like Fisk. Just a well-dressed and articulate one. What's more monstrous? An obvious monster or the one that slits your throat when you're not looking?

8:30 "What was it like for you when he disappeared? Really, it’s those first 24 hours that are the worst, aren’t they? When you call and you call and you call, and there’s just no answer. It becomes an obsession. The calling. The never-ending loop of a ghost’s voicemail in your ear. You worry. You wonder. You swear "Goddamn it, if he’s still living I’m gonna kill him myself." Is that what it was like for you? Did you rage at him? ‘Cause you thought he betrayed you? Because I wonder what would be worse for you? His duplicity or his death? He died quickly, if you were wondering. Didn’t suffer much. You see, Wilson, Matt Murdock isn’t the person you should be worried about. *I* killed Wesley. ''I shot him seven times... because the clip ran out! He deserved *MORE!"* - Karen Page

'Do you really think I'd put a loaded gun on the table where you could reach it?'
'I don't know. Maybe. Maybe not. Worst case scenario, it's not loaded, I try anyway and all I get is the pointless clicking of an empty gun and then you kill me. You were going to do that anyway, so I'm not any worse off by trying, now am I?'

I always thought that a better line would be something like "Come on Miss Page, you pull that trigger and what do you think happens next? That you can just walk away? My employer will hunt you down and your life will be ruined. The deal is still there however and you can save your life. Take the deal Miss Page" Wesley's original line was out of slight panic and unpreparedness tho so its understandable but the line really doesnt make much sense because loaded or not Karen would pull the trigger no matter what

He's like a slightly more human Agent Smith, and I love him.
He is here for a purpose, a purpose he might not enjoy, but that he takes immense pride in. A purpose he does through duty and loyalty and professionalism, and with all the cold efficiency of a knife. Charmingly inhuman but perfectly confident, even in the face of his death.
I seriously love this guys performance from beginning to end.

There was nothing Fisk could do about it. Karen was a main character and Wesley wasn't. And we had to sit still and watch it. It was among the writers. Some real plot armor.

you're so right, the plot armor is real

    • @rootobia
      @rootobia Před 6 měsíci +10

I wouldn't say it's plot armor because it makes sense, plot armor is really only when it doesn't make sense how a character survived, like when the way they survived was so unfathomably lucky or dumb that it is obviously forced. Not only did he openly state how little he thought of her, basically called her basically not even a person, he underestimated her a enough to casually let his guard down. And he for some reason put a loaded gun on the table, not even close to him like halfway across making it easy for her to grab it.
