- "...And now for something completely different" - as the Monty Pythons used to say! -, a new, and arguably a tad radical, project with Roland and Toulouse-based experimental electronic musician Alx Broken, exploring the murky territories between experimental electronica, glitch, noise and free jazz!
This is another one of these serendipitous types of encounters: I'd been following Alx's work on his channel (and electronic music label) @steakopoivre (Sub-eclectic) for some time but it wasn't until last month that I realized not only that he is French (a pardonnable offence, some would say) but lives in Toulouse, not so far from (the unjustifiably lesser-known yet uncomparably more beautiful) Montpellier! Le monde est petit (it's a small world)...
We're hoping to play a first gig together by the end of the summer, so stay tuned for any updates! Meanwhile, you can go and check out Alx Broken's amazing, wildly experimental work at @steakopoivre - and Roland's equally stupendous work at @rolanddevocelle2994, of course!

The fantastic thing about CZcams is that your mind can be opened to so many new experiences (if you let it!) and this is one for me. I so enjoy and appreciate Urbuli and fellow musicians free jazz improvisations (which I only really got into from first hearing on Urbuli's channel). Know lots of us who pass by here appreciate more 'experimental' styles of music and this is a match of 'electronics' & 'free jazz' made in heaven for me! 🙂👍
thanks so much for the kind words! you've truly put your finger on what (still) makes youtube a very special place! funnily enough, it is precisely because i created this channel and started listening to other people making their own original music, that I became interested in experimental genres I knew almost nothing about until recently - and this piece is definetely influenced by all the noise artists that I follow and follow me here!!
@@urbulibaba so true, I've come across such great music since starting this little CZcams adventure. I reckon more inquisitive people are turning to this way to find interesting music because the mainstream has become so predictable with little chance of finding anything there genuinely different from what the powers that be deem suitable for their sales strategies!
@@memorybugmusic I completely agree with you. CZcams is a great space for discovering new artists. The wide range of music exploration on here is a gift.

Bravo les gars 🎵🎶🌈 ! pour ce brise glace sonore ouvrant les voies du libre air au déchirement des coeurs gros, dadaïsme musicale sous l'arbre à palabres. Sans en avoir l'air on fait la nique à la mort, on tire la langue à l'absurde du monde, on ouvre la montagne sacrée des possibles et des songes. L'aventure sans filet prend ses jambes à son cou, file des grappes de sons dans des champs de coton d'outre-temps. My imagination goes wild when I listen to the free noise music. My attention keeps shifting to the different parts, especially the electronic noise. This would be very interesting to watch live! However I know that much of the synthesizer craziness lives inside the device, so it would not be as spectacular in person.
thank you, Patrick! the whole noise universe is something of a recent discovery for me, but I know what you mean! I'm actually quite curious to see how this would sound when performing live at a venue, I'd argue it might become more interesting actually; the only minor gripe I have about modular synth when it's recorded directly from a computer, is that it's missing a bit of that organic feel that you can only get from a sound reverberating inside a real physical space... so hearing it play with the other instruments in the same room will probably feel like a completely different experience!
