This podcast is better than any TV show ever created. I love making goofy videos like sterlings and (obviously) love surfing. Thank you for creating this.
Huge Occy fan too. Personality definitely counts. But there’s something about Curren’s flow, the way he positions himself on bottom turns, and the sense that he can persuade sections to stay open where they would close out on mere mortals…yeah, still the top. (You’re very very good too.🙂)

I’ve seen a lot of dudes using the poop to add to the centrifugal force of the cutback so it really anchors them to the board. Using the gravity to really follow through with the turn.

This was great! I totally agree with the air reverse thing. it's part of the reason I was drawn to longboarding now, I still shortboard, but being all aggressive on a wave just doesn't appeal to me anymore. And I think aging is only part of it. I've always admired people who read the wave and surf based on what the wave is allowing them to do. That's why you see those guys bow to the ocean after a wave and not pound their chest. When I first met my wife she asked if surfing was about feeling like you conquered the waves around the world, and I thought about it, and said, no it's more about getting to be apart of these swell events when they happen and getting to experience it.

I was blessed to live in the land of the eternal wetsuit for 25 yrs. Moving back cause I miss the men in the gray suits. Anyway making dune donuts along with the resident homeless, was a way of life. If you gotta go, dig a cathole min of 6 inch down. Otherwise you're the piece of ..... Any way one time the waves were firing 10ft faces ,tough paddle out. Had already dropped the kids off at the pool, but nature was calling and too good to take time to do the deed. Short story long, I just let it rip in my 4'3 with booties. After a epic few hours just jumped in my truck for luckily a 5 minute drive home. Jumped in shower and got out of my suit (oddly enough I was definitely a better roommate than the dude I shared the house with.Shout out to Dr. Sid! Anyway all that was left was the healthier things i ate the previous eve. Strands of cilantro, tomato some seeds prob jalapeno orgin,bit o corn. Basically fiber. Good times. Sorry as with any ytube comment just had to share to nobody and everybody. Bored . Waves are smaller than they have been all year in south SD. Not worth gas$ today. occy woke us up once at hossegor beach (our hotel at the time)and just said "get up guys its pumping" then just galloped off to the break and we was him with two thai chicks at rock food hossegor that night pissed up!! that was 1990s and what great days...also surfed with tom curran in the line up in anglet....jeez his wave count and pure style still give me goosebumps. sadly these days line ups are so crowded its just bad vibes . full occa mate
