This episode is so much fun. I like to imagine the dead Pearl worker found the camera in the ceiling, realized he had been part of an experiment himself, and left the station so frustrated that he never saw the bear (another subject of DHARMA experiments!) coming. His death definitely is one of the most tragic ones on the show, and that's saying something...
I never knew that the opening of season 2 was a reference to a movie, or that this episode would originally have a different director. I also really like your observation that season 2 has spanned exactly three weeks so far. That's quite a clever detail!

Thanks a lot! :) I love your take on it! Poor worker. That's something I should've mentioned. Someone likely removed some of the plywood/panels in the ceiling and revealing the extra camera in there.

Extra points if the next video runs for exactly three minutes.

Perhaps they take the strange route to and from the pearl either A, to prevent the workers from learning its location relative to the barracks (though it seems it would be easy to deduce from its location relative to the ferry dock) or B, to prevent the others from seeing the workers traveling to/from the pearl. I forget exactly where was considered "hostile territory" at the time of the Pearl's construction, but given its proximity to the Swan, which WAS in hostile territory, it would at least make some sense.

I love the way you think. Also a great possibility!

The camera doesn't necessarily have to be in the bathroom. If you see a dude walking in the direction of the bathroom wearing only underwear and carrying a towel, it's a safe assumption what comes next.

      That's ... a good point, haha, I guess DHARMA weren't as perverted as I thought :P

The show made a mistake since the Pearl door was covered by the plane so nobody should have been using it, but the Others were watching people in the hatch? Moving the plane back and forth would have made it obvious that there was a door in the ground.

Great as usual! I am feeling very picky on this but did you have to place the capsules that close to the barracks because of the mountain placement we can see in the scene in season 2 final? I was wondering if you wouldn't be able to place it a bit further but still on the way between the barracks and the pearl.
Because one thing i thought about was that fences around the barracks are 5-10min away from the actual barracks (cf: "The shape of things to come") so i'm wondering if it's far enough realisticaly to be outside those fences? (i mean based on the island size of the map )

It's a good observation and love your thinking. The capsule dump was quite a challenge, and I've had it different places in earlier iterations of the map. One being much closer to the Pearl. But then it's that weird trek of the DHARMA employees (from Pearl to Pala ferry dock and then to the barracks), but also the events in the finale when we see the dump being in a valley. I'd say the capsule dump is quite near the sonic fence. The sonic fence was also partly filmed in Kualoa ranch, just like the capsule dump. Another thing that was in consideration, and I'll mention this in the video on the finale is that the group can see the smoke signal being miles away and also the fact that the Others needed to transport our heroes to the dock before the system failure.
      But great questions! :)
