I think a bunch of artists actually had a problem with ticketmaster because of this as well. It’s not just them unfortunately. It’s really fucking sad.

As someone who has organized events and sold tickets on Ticketmaster… Platinum ticketing is something that YOU, as the organizer, have to enable… and that money goes to you. You do not HAVE to activate it. In fact you could email the venue or whoever is responsible for programming this event right now and tell them to disable that option. What’s this about then 😂
They talk about how they are in contact with them, as well as how they were told it was a scalper prevention program, but not that it would raise prices. This has also happened to other people so idk where your attitude is coming from
@@miacoekilledianto Premium pricing is not a scammer prevention program which is why it’s funny they’re presenting it this way. The “scammer prevention” is allowing people to resell directly on the app so they know the tickets are real. Premium and dynamic pricing are optional.
And all those “other people” it happened to, it was mostly scalpers reselling tickets are outrageous prices. Premium tickets are a whole different thing and have nothing to do with reselling above face value. They said yes to surge pricing and now realized it went above what they expected and that it makes them look greedy. Fair enough, they prob didn’t expect it to reach $300, but it was still their choice, they’re not a victim of this lol

@@celestric I did, and it’s them whining over something they controlled. I understand they contacted them, but they very much spun this as them being victims of Ticketmaster or something, when this is entirely something you willingly sign up for. Dynamic & platinum pricing are not automatic and it’s never been about “scammer protection” or whatever they’re trying to say lol, it’s always been about surge pricing and it is presented as such - an opportunity to make more money from your event. Nothing else.
