The way this guy encourages is crazy. He could encourage me to run into a brick wall
RIGHT NOW
You made me burst out laughing. 🤣🤣🤣
LOL
Yeah wierd, he has a big beard and kinda buffed, even tattoo but he talks and looks so friendly
lol.
I love how this guy doesn't want people to waste their time on youtube for non sense introductions . He just get through what should be said instead, But in the meantime everything he says is clear and easy to follow and understand.
hero!
Exactly
Just wanted to say that watching this vid 4 months ago allowed me to dip my toes in AWS and the cloud for the first time ever, ended up finishing 2 udemy courses for the SAA exam and just got my certification last week. Thanks dude.
Congrats! Now land that role 💰
Bravooo.. what a the two udemy course you took ? and what were your study resources ? please
Congratulations
Thanks, Stephan Maarek's course and someone else who i can't remember. I ended up wishing i had discovered stephan's course first because it covered absolutely everything you need. It's very long but i highly recommend it
FYI you can torrent Udemy courses for free.
Friendly advice from a Certified Solution Architect, set a budget alarm with tight value, first and foremost. Just in case. Lots of people with scary bills.
Linux academy helps with that while starting the course. Pretty cool of them
True and terminate often!
Thanks for this. Do you know of any other skills I can learn to be proficient in the cloud space ?
@@chrisflores9030 How do you like the merge with ACG(A Cloud Guru)?
Ah ok sweet, i made that mistake with Azure and ended up with some horrific bills for a couple of months till I figured out what was happening
I'm a 67 year old retired semi-IT man trying to learn more IT to keep my mind working and just setup an aws account.
Has IT changed a lot?? Can you be my sensei??
Nice work Darrel 👍
I’m a 67 year old, (in six weeks time), retired - IT guy for the last 37 years and I’ve just got an AWS and Azure account to keep the old brain working, and maybe a bit of consultancy work in a while?

love how fast and straight to the point you are. keep it up. Subscribed.
Just got your class! Thank you guys for putting it together and thank you Chuck for taking a big career leap! More than happy to support you and your new endeavors.
man after years of randomly finding IT vids, your vids are honestly the best! short, to the point and I come away more edumacated, spot on!!!
Love the straight to the point fast (clear and understandable) approach! No fluff - THANKS!
I've been learning cloud for a little over 2 months and looking to jump straight into the Solution Architect. AWS is by far the biggest as they were the incumbents, he's right, however, Microsoft Azure is by far the biggest in the corporate market place so a combination of both is a killer combo to have. Google Cloud Platform is the third biggest but they are side-stepping both AWS and Azure by focusing on machine learning in the cloud which will also be the future at some point.
Isn't it mind blowing how many things we should learn RIGHT NOW?
I swear....
A whole company skillset in one individual 😂
School sucks. Doesn’t teach shit
@@mujtabamujeeb786 in that aspect yes, but the connection you got for having "student" as your title is amazing.
Yeah, my balls are sweating.
Thanks Chuck! I'm already on my AWS SAA journey and this video just gave me a lot more motivation to see it through ✊🏾
I just found your channel, i'm in school as a network admin and im starting my AWS soon. AWS is fascinating and the payout is fucking crazy.
Please do you have icq? Will like to know more about this Aws. Thanks
Worked. I dig your “do it now” approach, convinced me to try it out. Thanks.

You are seriously amazing. I appreciate your videos along with the guys you made your course with far more than I could ever attempt to explain in this comment box…. I’m from Mississippi man, like the most tech illiterate state in the US from as far as I can tell….
Having someone able to break down these things like you do is a blessing and it means so much, especially to a person who is trying so hard to learn without any previous knowledge or experience and almost no one around locally to advise or explain how this stuff works.
Thank you again and if there is ever a chance that you see this and would ever consider one on one teaching, just know that I would be willing to do just about anything in order to get that kind of help. Have a great day man.
Bro I love your professionalism and character, your knowledge speaks volumes. If I could learn from you in a classroom for just one week the amount of knowledge I would gain would be legendary and I would treasure it always.
Recently took a higher paying network engineer role and came out of a cloud engineer position paying very little. I'm going through Virtual Machine withdrawal, so watching your videos and messing around with VMs in AWS and Virtual Box outside of an enterprise environment is helping me not forget things. I am definitely planning on going back to a Cloud Engineer position or higher soon.
Is cloud less paying than network?
Chuck : 10 things to learn
Me : i done 1, thanks god, 9 left
Chuck : so now 12 things to learn
Option 1: learn each thing before chuck puts out another video
Option 2: fail
That was great Chuck all setup. Really appreciate how your videos give me more information in 10 minutes than most people give me in 2 hours. Thanks man!
As usual, clear, short, and informative. Your channel has been critical to my career as a data scientist
This is awesome, love the collab of theses guys. Finishing up my CCNA then doing AWS, bought the course can't wait
Hey
How was the course?
Yes, I was able to do that. Thanks for putting this together. Just learning about cloud computing and this is really an eye-opener.
This was so easy!! I can see the high potential for learning this tech! Can't wait to dive deeper! You earned a sub from me.
Funny, just got my CCNP Enterprise finished yesterday, and was saying I’m gonna start the aws journey next and here’s this video...nice intro!
hey I watch your videos ! great stuff man and congrats
robert george thanks dude! I was idle this week cause I was hunkered down on ENARSI haha but I’ve got new stuff in the pipe don’t worry! Thanks for tuning in 🙏
Exactly.
How long from ccna to ccnp for you ?
l murphy there’s a video with more details on my channel, but it took me about 6 months
Getting the SAA was such an accomplishment, but don't stop, there is so much more in the SysOps Associate and Developer Associate. From there you can learn to implement so many other skills in the cloud, like Docker, Python/Bash shell scripting, automation with Ansible and Puppet, and all these additional skills you can learn, with the rest of NetworkChucks library of content.
I am from zero knowledge of network and software but watching this guy's youtube woken up my interest and I starting to understand! Thank you! You're the best teacher!
Started watching the AWS training over past two days after reading similar certification recommendations. Bought the course- perfect timing!
As someone working w/ AWS full-time right now: agreed. So much to learn, so much opportunity.
What tips would you give someone who is trying to get their foot in the door after taking the AWS course ?
happy for you Josh. Will you employ someone with no IT experience but had AWS SA and AWS Developer? Let me know your mind. thanks
+1, send my regards from AWS Indonesia
Do i need a degree to get into cloud as well?
@@preetpalsingh1039 In America you dont. But elsewhere they might ask for a degree. I know that for sure.
I would love to see more hands on exercises with AWS, please make more videos about this!
Finally bought your course! thank you for all the YT videos you make
It is crazy that i've seen this video in my recommendations for close to 4 years, never watched it but now that I work at Amazon and am considering becoming a solutions Architect it was cool to set up the account and the virtual machine by watching a 7.5 minute video. And even though the AWS website has changed I was able to follow and find all the correct links and tabs to to exactly what you did. Looking forward to this journey.
Yaay my favorite bunch of trainers came up with AWS course!! Just purchased it.. Thank you so much Chuck !!
I knew there was a catch. Asking for credit card. . . Thats the oldest trick in the book. I took your word for it and put money on a throw away CC. I put in the info, a few times with a few different cards. Still doesn't work. At least you had good intentions.
I have no clue what this is about but now I want to learn it
VERY well done! Clear, concise and to the point. Thank you Chuck
thank you for the set up guide. i really appreciate it.
Major Point here: With YT, there is a tendency for video makes to stall and drag out an explanation, to increase hours viewed, etc....and it is painful if you just want the info. This video was very well done. THIS is the speed that an intro-video should be done at. I love that he didn't fill in the fluff details.....just get to the point - we can dig in on our own Discovery Time.
YES! how many times i've sat through a 40 min video and just learned nothing of value it's mind numbing. I wish AI could test all videos for blabbering lol. So many videos that are 40+ mins could be 3 minutes -_-
Interesting seeing this video drop -- just today I took my SANS SEC501 GIAC exam, one of the big topics in the first book being AWS, CloudTrail, CloudFront, CloudFlare, etc.
I'm studying for the exam now. Any tips?
@@MD-pz3cn Hmmm.... It's such a broad subject, I can't think of any SPECIFIC info you should focus on. Felt like it hit nearly everything.
The biggest things for me were the 2 practice exams, the book quizzes you can take (assuming you're using the SANS OnDemand online variant), and the index. Not gonna lie, I struggled on the practice exams -- got a 70 and a 75, but the next week when I took the real one I got an 85. The real exam felt harder (or at least more stressful), but the practice exams absolutely helped me. The practices will tell you what you missed the instant you submit the question, so take note of everything you miss so you know what to touch up / study on (or hell take note of literally every question, up to you). And the quizzes say they're not exam prep, but I studied them pretty hard regardless and I'd be lying if I said it didn't help me.
Not sure if you've taken a SANS exam before (this was my first), but by all means create and use an index. I used Microsoft Excel to create an egregious index, formatted alphabetically -- KEYWORD, DESCRIPTION, PAGE, BOOK. I made the descriptions pretty damn detailed as well. So 85% of the time I could look at my index and get an answer instead of having to look through my books. Put pretty much every thing on there be it process, tool, phrase, etc. -- from CloudTrail, CloudFront, etc. to tools like BurpeSuite, metasploit, Social Engineering Toolkit (SET), Scapy, etc. to each individual step in the penetration testing process, to even things as small and minute as individual DLLs mentioned or API calls (specifically regarding debugging) -- examples being CheckRemoteDebuggerPresent(), NtQueryInformationProcess(), etc.
It sounds intimidating, but if you just have an Excel sheet open as you read through the books and just take the time to create an index with descriptions, you're golden. Once you're done, sort them alphabetically. I didn't convert my Excel sheet to any specific format, I just straight printed it off as an Excel with tiny font. Just create an index, study the quizzes, and take notes on everything within the practice exams and you're set. I learned the material a few months back, but never got around to taking the exam until recently. At work they gave me a week to refamiliarize myself with the material to test on that Friday, and I still managed to pass with a decent score. So honestly dude, I think you'll be fine.
@@GoodKid Awesome response, thanks man. I passed the GSEC last year so I'm familiar with the GIAC test structure.
@@MD-pz3cn Okay, sweet! When do you take it? I'd love to know how you do, and if my advice actually helps or if I'm just blowing smoke out my ass.
@@GoodKid Haven't scheduled it yet but your advice all lines up with what I focused on for the GSEC, so I'm sure it's gonna help!

Hey NetworkChuck, just an idea. When you are showing new users how to set up an AWS account, or any cloud account, it would be a good idea to show them how to set up budget alerts just so if someone does tinker around they know if they are accumulating real cost.
I followed along in the 10 minutes before my shift started and got all the way through before I had to clock in. Yes, this is my work account, no I definitely wasn't on the clock while doing this. This was awesome, thanks.

@@MsBalanced1 I bounced between Pluralsight, ITPro.tv, and the AWS Practitioners Study Guide. I also decided to prepare at the end by getting quizzes from Whizlabs. @@stevedubejr.1294 Please do you have icq? Will like to know more about this Aws. Thanks
How is it??
This is good advice. The cloud is... inevitable. I'm learning Azure instead of AWS because I got two free vouchers from Microsoft a while back. The main advantage over AWS is that they've made it VERY easy to move local domains to Microsoft 365 and thus Azure. But AWS is still ahead in just about everything else.
adolfojp I worked with AWS before, as a developer and it was a pain to use, I work for a major healthcare company and they are moving to Azure and we have done a few trainings with Microsoft directly and I am so impressed with how well done it is, and how easy it is for anyone to use it in any it position. Plus Azure’s failover is just amazing, IMO you are better off to learn Azure over AWS.

Yup a lot of companies prefer GCP because of cost and G Suite due to familiarity with Gmail/Drive/Docs. You really can’t go wrong any of the big 3 cloud providers. A lot of bigger companies have a mix, at mines we use both AWS & Azure for specific reasons. But I know companies that use AWS & GCP.
