Love this album, brought this originally as a 15yr old in ‘78 . Great dry studio sound and not over compressed like many later ones .

First album I ever bought. The original vinyl has significant track order changes, and Cold Hearted Man. Good to see you have the same version. Cannot listen to the order on CD or streaming. The vinyl track order is too ingrained in my brain. One of the best outro tracks on any rock album - Kicked In The Teeth. Great review. Love your enthusiasm and description.

Good review. You studied up there. I’m a long time fan and actually had the rare and amazing pleasure of running into Bon. He was staying at some unit block in Manly, Sydney, Australia, they often spent their summers in Oz in the 70’s. Anyway you probably know by now that Powerage was the last album produced by Vanda &Young and the last to be recorded in Oz, Albert studios Sydney as all the previous 4 Albums were. They released Powerage in 78 as well as their first live album ‘If You Want Blood’ that year. Note also that Cold Hearted Man is not on the Oz release, so you guys over there were quite fortunate. Cheers Al great work.

Sin City is one of their best underated songs. Bon was a power house.

Is that a UK pressing? There is a very first UK pressing mastered by "porky" which is missing the 1st track "Rock n roll damnation". This is a different, early rough mix of the album which myself and others find superior. Versions with the 10 tracks are the regular, well known mix.
