If u r not attracted to ur wife anymore, but u believe it to b an essential part of a marriage which is not dead, beyond a reasonable doubt, but u still wanna honor the rest of the marriage it makes sense to get separated. That way u can b morally free to peruse other partners while still honoring the rest of ur vows with full respect and dignity. Like parenting, nurturing a business, socializing with friends/family together as really good friends.

@@soggdamone1922 It’s not true for a marriage. What u r talking about is an arrangement. A contract, to stay together. Which is perfectly acceptable if u feel that that’s the best u can do for whatever reason, like family obligations, debts, genuine pity/care for the partner, family pressures etc.
A marriage however, requires a pull, and as people age and evolve (or devolve) they also change viewpoints and stronger personalities. Some start compromising their value systems even. And the partners can drift apart. Sometimes one becomes a lot more successful and feels that he/she can find a lot better partner, which erodes their relationship as they start resenting the fact that they settled too early and start taking that frustration out on the closest person. In which case that person should leave out of self respect and dignity.
Today’s life isn’t limited to a small village with almost nothing new and almost zero input from the outside world. Today’s world is complicated and forever changing. With that people change and their priorities, personalities, and goals with them. So the person u married in their 20s can b completely different person in a decade or two. In which case, u may find them not so attractive or even repulsive. Some people for example get adventurous as they age, while others get lazy and careless about their goals.
Plus, there r so many influences from all directions that affect people and their relationships. Like never in the vision mankind before. So of course the marriages r also different than before.
As long as u r not doing it just for ur convenience or whims, divorce can b the best decision u can make for that stage of life. Especially good if both partners r in agreement and mature about it. Relationships fail sometimes. It’s okay. As long as u know I’m ur soul that u tried ur best, u will b at peace.
