10:48 I LOVE EMUS they’re adorable bastards. Going to rural caravan parks in northwest Australia is so fun they will just rob you blind. They’re lovely. They’re very scary and also sort of dinosaurs (but they aren’t as terrifying as cassowaries) and humans first interacted with them 60 000 years ago but they’ve been around for way longer and because Australia is so isolated they were able to adapt and get super weird. Everyone talks about the emu war, they never mention that colonisers took all their grazing land and displaced First Nations people so emus couldn’t be hunted AND needed food. So they stole from the white farmers, (who were terrible farmers- like you’re just gonna ignore the oldest continuing culture that still has oral stories describing other human species and has successful grains and silos they make and go ‘but what if we put wheat?’) and then the farmers went GUNS except emus are dinosaurs so they were fine and surviving emus were found 10 years after the war ended with like 5 bullets in them just chilling
