Never mind the buildings, dude did this video in a single take. Respect!
Exactly. He knows his subject for sure !
Man's a Legend
at least one cut at the corner garage car door ;-)
@@EDDK2010 ur wrong
30 secs in and I already saw it skip.
Man, Jamie loves talking and is SO knowledgeable about the builds. You can really hear the excitement coming through in his voice! I love anytime he has the stage
The cafe corner brought me out of my Lego dark age… I walked pass my local Lego store, saw it on the window and instantly fell in love. I was 24 and needed some convincing to spend that kind of money on a “toy” but it was just so beautiful that I caved in and bought it. So glad I did… With the exception of market street, I have every modular and it’s become a yearly tradition to head to the Lego store every January 1st for the new modular.
We need Jamie back to designer the modulars!
0:55 EXOFORCE!!! I remember those sets! I think a single tear of nostalgia rushed down my face as I saw you walk past those boxes!
I am so lucky and glad to have collected all of them over the years.
These buildings are works of art. Thank you for all the joy you and the team have brought into our lives, Jamie!
Really hope that Lego re-release a few of the older ones in the future. That Town hall looks so cool!
love how you can see the changes of lego as the buildings get newer and newer
This guy pretty much is responsible for getting me into Lego and me dropping $$$ annually. He has definitely made Lego lots of money haha. His modular projects will always be the best but I love them all.
Thank you for uploading an HD version! This looks so much better and really does the content justice. LEGO Modular may be 15 years old but the video didn't need to look 15 years old. XD
I just got back into LEGO last year with the Treehouse set. Now I'm building Assembly Square and can't get enough of it! I love the modular buildings collection :) Thank you for showcasing it here.
I just need either a full mini modular set to display, or a new real, non-LEGO house to store all these full-sized buildings in! lol
Same! I have to keep some of my sets on the floor cause I ran out of shelf room 😅
Petition to have Jamie back on the modular line
Credit to you Jamie and the rest of the team please keep up the hard work. These buildings are simply amazing. I’m lucky enough to have them all and they are my pride and joy.
Jamie’s Modulars are the best! Happy anniversary Modular Building!
Yes, Jamie! No stickers, please! I hope the Jazz Club & Pizzaria for 2023 continues the streak of no stickers
from the looks of it there aren't any stickers! that's the kind of quality I like
@@cobbss1405 Ditto! I was so grateful that the Lion Knight's Castle and Galaxy Explorer were sticker free, along with the Forest Hideout and Ray the Castaway GWPs. But dang, the Blacktron set is looking all stickered up 😞
@@Iankenobi1138 it's all about how you wanted to look. With a lot of sets, I only apply the stickers that I want to. I do a lot of Speed Champions builds and I sometimes don't put any stickers on at all, so that I can take them apart and use the pieces for other MOCS.
Great to see Jamie again!
It's very rare that I watch a video from the Lego CZcams channel. This one was really great, thanks so much for this to all involved!
Next please make a modular hospital
When my parents sold our childhood home, my biggest regret was leaving my collection of LEGO Creator sets for the next family’s children and grandchildren. Well, maybe not a huge regret since they got to enjoy them more than I would in college at that time.
10197 Fire Brigade (1932)
10185 Green Grocer
10182 Cafe Corner
10184 Town Plan (City Square)
4996 Beach House
4954 Townhouse
6754 Family House
You may ask, who were the lucky kids and grandkids? None other than the CEO of Disney.
Well if that's true then you're definitely lucky to have met such famous people
My first modular building was the palace cinema, and its still one of my favorites today, im getting the grand emporium soon and i would love to get all of them one day, the modular buildings are my favorite types of lego sets
Few years ago i got the downtown diner as a Christmas gift. I had trouble displaying it because it had such a bigger scale than the other buildings and city sets i had at the time…following year what i got was assembly square, corner garage, the bookshop, and the police station. And some socks. This year i now 16 got the jazzclub and natural history museum from my grandparents and aftermarket light kits for all the buildings from my family. Needless to say we overspent every year but its worth it, i even got rid of a lamp in my room because the modulars light it all up lol. Its definitely the centerpiece of my room and my favorite thing about it
I tell ya.... January cannot come fast enough!
Awesome video. Great to know the history on all the modular buildings.
I'm glad that Lego agrees with the fans on the sticker subject
I actually stumbled into the joy of the modular series this year. I went to my nearest Lego Store with the intent to by the BMW technic which I did. But when I saw the Bootique Hotel I knew I would have to go back for it at some point.
After buying it and building it I saw an image showing how well it intergrated with the Bookshop and Police Station. So I had to get them also. Nearly a week ago I finished building the Sanctum Sanctorum. While it isn't part of the range, it gave me the same warm feelings that I felt when building the others. So thankyou for your efforts. It's much appreciated.
Just got the sanctum aswell. I had too get it too fit into my city even if i dont like super hero sets🤣
I always liked these, but couldn´t afford them because I was a kid. I´m gonna buy one oneday
You've got to do a proper British pub next!!
Oh my gosh - mini Modular’s - please release these to the public!
Didn’t this get uploaded a week ago?
Yes. This time though with time stamps and in the proper resolution.
Hollo big lego collector here I always Wunder y not continuing with the mini modulars that u created in 2012 I still have it and waiting 10 years for more versions….. so sad u didn’t continue this
Yeah more of them would be cool
Bigger sets is bigger money, and I think the amount of design time going into a small build may be similar or even more than a big set - you need to be very creative (i.e. try a lot of stuff) to pull off a convincing mini/micro build.
Look at Lego City cars; most are 6 studs wide because it is just so much easier to design them - even in the MOC community! There are a few designers (de_marco!) who can do 4 or 5 stud cars convincingly though.
Best, LeGo, Modular, Video, EVER!
Well done to Jamie and the rest of the creator expert design team for 15 years of such brilliant sets… I’d like another 20 years please!
I loved the history lesson that went along with the detailed description of the entire lineup. I have them all except Market Street because I just don't like it enough to pay up on it. Thanks Jamie, you're a legend. I hope to one day design a modular product released to the public. It's a dream, but maybe one day....
Thank you for a great presentation. I came out of my dark age right after the introduction of Cafe Corner, so it was a thrilling time for me. It directly inspired my first MOC which was extra important when you haven't really had a LEGO project since childhood.
I love all these modular buildings. The cinema was my first and it holds a very special place in my heart but one of my favourite models that connects with the line is the Spring Lantern Festival set. It's just beautiful and connects so well next to the police station.
Great presentation. Just wanted to check out a build or two and ended up watching the whole thing without noticing.
Same😂
Thank you for a great presentation. I love the modular series, and hope it will stay around for a long time. Have most of the buildings, but not the oldest. My first was The Fire Brigade, and have all of the buildings that has been released after that.
This is one of the only Lego series I like. Star wars and Harry Potter I always feel like are incomplete because their missing entire walls which I know it’s supposed to be for play features but for me it’s unsatisfying. Plus their expensive… so when I got my first ever modular which was the assembly square I fell in love with it so hard because it felt complete and worth the money. Now I’m here with 6 Modular’s and an overstressed mother who’s worried on what I’ll do with it when I move to college XD
I never looked away from Lego, but I had some kind of dark ages. The cafe corner was the perfect excuse to come out of them forever. I have currently 8 cafe corners standing tall, but also double floored the Green grocer and the grand emporium. I still love them and the feel every year new to me, with great new building technology. In this video I only missed the story about the 1891/1981 from the town hall.
So if the Factory (which Jaime says was early version of Ideas) then that means that Old Fishing Store is then a modular? Also in the new Bricklink series this means that officially the lego modular store is also a modular officially, and the Modular Construction Site... Thanks Jaime!
Now what about the bugle and sanctum. They did the hotel and the sanctum back to back to have the two corners so I'd say they count.
I couldn’t agree more!
I consider GBHQ, Daily Bugle, and Bricklink lego store and construction site as part of the modular line, because they have the side walk and can be integrated. The venitian houses and bowling alley are up for debate to me. The ninjago city I consider seperate even though they technically can clip together with the modulars, I love the ninjago city sets hope to have additional ones than the 3 we already got, some of the most creative building techniques.
Agree if it has the sidewalk and clips in then bingo!
@@QuinnLytleFilms I would consider them part of the official modular line, yeah
モジュラーシリーズが大好きです
どれも素敵ですが、やっぱりカフェコーナーが最も衝撃を受けた一番好きなモデルです
Very nice to see all the modulars. And hear the short storys and development behind it. A joy to watch this video 👊👁👁👍
Thanks Jamie, the modular series dragged me out of of my dark ages when I saw Cafe Corner available to buy on the website all those years ago.
Ima need you all to bring back retired modulars
I love Modulars, I wish I started getting them sooner so I could have ones like the brick bank, which has always been one of my favorites
Me too 😢
After 41 min: Great Jamie, let’s do one more take!
He knows his stuffs 💓
The modulars are definitely my favorite Lego series. I wish I had not missed out on the first 10 sets.
i dont see why we can't just take these exact print outs and make real life buildings. how cool would that be! need a building? print a whole village
Amazing to see the progression! Keep them coming!
Really Cool!
That vault is mind boggling 🤯 would love to poke around in there
Would be nice if they re-released some of the older ones so that we could actually afford them.
this is so true, i fell in love with modular sets 15 years late and it is financially impossible for me to get the retired sets
Amazing stuff. I missed out on a couple when I was a student in university, but I'll probably get back on the grind soon!
It drives me nuts that many of these are now out of stock!
Now I need to expand my collection!
We don’t only remember you we miss you all!,, I was sure u r not working for lego any more because u disapeared u can tell the modulars are your baby!!!!
This is so awesome...!!!
I love tge modular series so much
i only have one issue with the modulars. some of the older ones, like Green Grocer, contain pieces LEGO hasn't produced for many years, which makes it difficult to get an expensive set like Green Grocer cheaper because parting it out doesn't work too well. to me the sand green 1x2 bricks with the groove make it look fantastic. I hope LEGO puts the 1x2 brick with groove and 1x8 brick in sand green back into production. they could be cool for some future modulars and also helpful to make parting out Green Grocer much cheaper
The reference to the market street archway on the boutique hotel is one of my favourite references
I own the fire station, pet shop, brick bank and downtown diner.
Green Grocer .. still my favorite
I got a few of the buildings. I know how a street feels. It’s very awesome
the jazz club is great. but please we need a hospital! pls pls
It's beautiful. ❤
this was so cool
As beautiful as the Bookshop is, one of the greatest features is that it's two completely separate builds in one set that can come apart and be rearranged with other modulars as you see fit. It's a shame they didn't follow this trend with the police station.
One take fair play my man that was banging
5:21 i can't remember but i think that bungalow house was in the lego stars wars game.
How big is the 9468 Vampyre Castle compared to those buildongs. Are they bigger than it?
My first modular was the detectives office which I got in 2018 it immediately got me hooked on modulars and I had to get the perisan restaurant since in 2014 I had entered a lego club contest to actually win one did not win the contest so it was always on my wanted list since 2014 I finally got it in 2019 when I went to my closest mall which also happens to have my local lego store for a school trip my senior year of high school. Then in 2020 as a way to celebrate getting my first real job I saved up my money and got a palace cinema for my lego city off ebay which allowed me to have my 3 favorite modulars of all time in my lego city. Pet shop would had been a nice one but when it was out I was just starting to get into lego and was only 10 when it came out also hadn't even heard of the modulars at that point so unfortunately I missed out on it but I have since made a moc pet store for my lego city that follows the modulars only lacks the details also my pet store is a corner since I only have 3 ofical corner modulars. Palace cinema, corner garage and boutique hotel.
I own only the 10th year anniversary and 5th year anniversary modular, now I gotta get the 5th and 1st modular buildings!
Only thing is, I need to win a couple lotteries
Just got assembly square today from local stall before it goes into retiring 🎉😅
What they have to do is to release back all those expensive older buildings. That would be great.
He should've mentioned the Easter egg piece of art in the Boutique Hotel.
A wet-dream this row of LEGO
I just wish the newer Modular’s stuck with the plain minifigure faces
When are you going to make the nest modular i really like all your designs and would like you to make the next moudular
A new modular building is always released on Jan 1st. The next one has been revealed already and is a Jazz club and pizzaria!
“This is a big one”
The Minecraft Moutain Cave in the background: ಠ_ಠ
Pls lego bring back hidden side pls 😭😭😭
I definitely want to get the more recent ones now after watching this, starting with the Assembly Square!
I have every set except "Market Square" which I didn't even know existed at the time (and is now cost prohibitive).
Minneapolis Skyline, Post Office, or Royal Tenenbaums House
❤️❤️
He forgot to mention the Easter egg of the Eiffel Tower in the apartment of AFOL in the Town Center set. Like everyone knew it was going to come out in a few years. But "hey, let's have this now."
Wow😍 i like one of those Lego modular buildings i hope someone could share/gift me 🥺☺️
I'd love an elementary school in an old building
what is the reference of the plane we can see hanging from the ceiling?
Bugs my mind.... Corner Garage is launch after the Diner, right? 😅
I jus got into lego when the Winnie the pooh tree came out can you bring back the pet shop I was not in lego at the time and I want it
You can buy the Pet Shop from LELE, KING, LEPIN, LEJI, Lion King
When is the assembly square retiring
What happens when you wanna build a monorail city-station modular building 🤔
Haha, when brick master Jamie said "stickers" I instantly and instinctively made a 'bleh' face. There's a time and place I suppose!
The 15th anniversary is the best.
I wonder how it feels to have the greatest job in the world. Jamie has never had to work a day in his Lego career! They wud have to fire me I wud spend to much time in the vault building old sets that I wud never get anything done they wud also have to call security cuz I wud not leave without a fight and some mini figs in my pocket like Hamish!
I love that the bank is laundering money!
Wonderful wonderful; I must extract digit & assemble my Beatles White Album Ringo "portrait" .. yeah sad huh, an oldie with a Peter Pan complex🤣😂🤣. But here's an idea; a universe ago, I was an architect. Wouldn't it b cool 2 create a serious architectural set .. say 1:20 scale 2 model some bldg dtls .. a cross-section study of a cavity brick wall .. or a cross-sectional study thru a astronomic observatory, with moving parts of-course. It'd b "adults only" .. a thought? Thankyou 4 ur enthusiasm & a little joy 4 the day👌
The new jazz club is probably the worst one since they started adding interiors
It'from the green grocer that they have interiors so it's not a new thing.
