Immigrant: Someone who applies to come into the country, and does not come in until their application is accepted and they receive clearance to enter, then cooperates with the deportation process when their papers expire. (Example Chris and Emma).
Illegal immigrant: Anyone who sneaks into the country without permission, or, who goes into hiding to avoid being deported when their papers expire. (Obviously NOT Chris and Emma).
Immigrants who cost the Government money: Refugees. Asylum seekers. (Again. NOT Chris and Emma).

In the United States. 70% of people are considered illegal immigrants here. Came completely legally, then over stayed their visa. Thus are here in opposition to the terms on which they were allowed here. Making them illegal.

It's the same thing here in the states, if you are a legal immigrant you get jerked around but if you are an illegal immigrant you get a driver's license

My wife immigrated to Canada from Vietnam as a student, then she got a work visa and after 12 years of living in she was able to become a citizen. I met my wife 7 years ago so I didn't see the whole process but when she applied to be a citizen she showed me the application forms and those were by far the most confusing thing I have ever read. It seems like the government goes out of its way to make the paperwork as confusing as possible so you will make mistakes and end up paying more in the end.
I really can't stand our current government but I can totally understand how easy it was for a simple mistake to cause this predicament you two are in.
I will keep watching your videos and I hope you two get through this as painlessly as possible.
We appreciate you sharing that with us, one day we hope to be Citizens too! When my situation is calmed down a bit I'll be making more videos about the process itself, hidden pitfalls, obvious loopholes and just some of the failures that occur.

We were 1 signature and about £7k away from immigrating to Canada on a part time work visa. The £7k was for a company to take care of the whole process. Unfortunately things popped up and it never happened. But it will, and your videos about this has really opened my eyes to the bullishit politics that surrounds it.

Chris and Emma are hands down; the best two human beings I’ve met here in the Chilcotin. Anyone who has a problem with them, has never personally met them. Bunch of keyboard clackers that are real tough and opinionated on the internet. I’d go through steel reinforced concrete walls for these two, they’re my only friends and they’re getting the boot. I’m gosh darn livid.

Very good video brother. I'm Canadian and I don't even know the immigration process. I'm in Langley British Columbia. A part of the reason why they help First nations so much is because all of the land belonged to the first nation. I am First nations. My family has been in Canada for an estimated 21000 years

Man I feel so bad for your situation. I literally just found your channel last night but this process just proves how bullshit and over complicated the immigration process and how dehumanizing it is. The real sad part is that if there was a way to talk to somebody that actually has the authority to make a decision I am sure that all of this could be straightened out . But the people that we all deal with are "just workers" that had a script that they go by and have no power to change anything that is on their script . One thing that I learned a long time ago is to "go up the ladder" in other words find out who does have the power to actually make a rational decision and to make a "wrong , right" . Canada and U.S same its crazy u can have a person here in U.S pay taxes there entire life get sick at 60 and they lose ther job be forced to go on state health insurance and have a 10.000 spin down its like a deductible but u have an immigrant family of 15 ranging n age from 2 to 65 from a 3 world country and they get everything free its insane.
