    is there a mode in photoshop where you can edit a photo without a canvas. I can understand why you would want a canvas if you are working with multiple layers, but for just resizing it's such a pain. anyways..what are your thoughts on using apple preview to resize?

    Hi can you help im a photographer and uploading some of my photos to my website, id like them to look good on a 4k monitor but dont want people to be able to print them, so could i upload them at 3500 pixels wide at 1 dpi and compress to 800kb. will this make it impossible to print. when i test this and then copy the image and check the details it seemd to show them at 96 dpi. having trouble finding the best solution to have good quality on 4k monitor but protect them for being printed. Thanks in advance

    I'm trying to follow the steps for Photopea and the software is not performing how you show it in your video. I opened my image, copied it, then selected File-New and set the sizing as you stated.... then when I try to paste, there is no option to paste. I went back to the original image and copied it again, and tried to paste it into the New Project..... again, no option to paste. Your instructions don't match the software's features and functionality.

  • @interioactivedigitalmedia8330

    That was an awesome help!! Thank you so much. Glad to find this video. I have a question tho. Do you still use compression plug-ins like Smush or Optimole even after converting images to webp? Or this is already good?

    • @KayCinho
      @KayCinho  Před 2 lety +1

      My pleasure. The only thing I use after converting to web is Wp-Rocket for caching 😉

    Photopea seems to handle color more like the original image than Affinity or Photoshop.

    • @KayCinho
      @KayCinho  Před 2 lety

      True! I guess playing with the color profiles should help, but out of the box Photopea does a good job.

    What kb is ideal for website photos?

    • @KayCinho
      @KayCinho  Před 3 měsíci

      As small as you can while keeping good quality. Usually I get between 80kb and 300kb depending on the complexity of the image.
      Images with foliage are the hardest to deal with.

    Do we use 2560x1706 for every image? What about png images which have transparent background?

    • @lahayan
      @lahayan Před 3 měsíci

      You should avoid transparency on large images. PNG is rather used for small images layered over the background.

    Not at all clear. When people are unfamiliar with technology, you've got to specify every single step. Assume your audience knows basically nothing. "I'm going to do X. I'm going to do Y." ???? How exactly are you doing X and Y? What tools are you using? You've got to spell it out, man.
    I've just purchased this software on your recommendation and you're blowing right past things. Nightmare.
