- I am super sad with this happen while I’m editing I just can’t believe Nintendo cut the servers for Wii U and 3D DS now no one play online anymore or just a stupid reason but they did it very sad when I’m doing this now we have to play the switch titles I’m not going to pose any thing for a while but we will come by this together 😭🫡 #goodbyesplatoon1 #splatoon

Those agent 3 drawings made me remember that the last bit of childhood i had left is now gone, i began playing splatoon when i was 10 years old, from that point on my teenage days messed me up real good
Then i found a drawing someone gave to me with my splatoon characters, and had a little inscription that reads "despite everything, its still you"
God i wish that was true...
Everyone cosplaying as the basic inkling of splatoon just touched my heart in a way I cant describe… ❤

I remember that I played splatoon 1 7 years ago as a noob didn't anything about the game. Then I got the splatoon 2 and I enjoyed it a lot, then splatoon 3 rolled and got me thinking about the first game again. But I didn't know where I could be. Then I found it but I didn't play it because all the other stuff in my life was in my way. And then finally I played it again after 7 years with my original inkling on the last weekend with it.
I had so much with it, it was chaotic but fun and I was laughing and everything. Sure gaming in 2024 is different but it felt like I was back in 2015 playing it again. And I was 12, now I am 21. I miss it even after playing it again 7 years later.

If I could go back in time I would immediately buy a Wii U and play Splatoon 1. But sadly I can't...

Back in the day I didn't had the Wii U so I could't play Splatoon 1. I had the Wii, 3DS and DS. I played a lot of games on the Wii for example: Mario Galaxy 1 and 2. Those two were fantastic games and I have a lot of memories from them. I also played a fantastic game on the DS called: Mario & Luigi Partners in Time. For me personally that game is the best Mario & Luigi game Nintendo ever created.
I got the Nintendo Switch Oled like 2 months ago and I bought Splatoon 3. Just playing Splatoon for the first time is awesome! I immediately got attached to the Splatoon franchise. I watched all sort of animations (Splatoon related) videos on CZcams and they were great! And playing and learning the plot/story of Splatoon can't be described with one word.
I know how it feels when servers get shut down for games you got emotional attached to. And just hearing the news that the servers for Splatoon 1 got shut down broke my heart. I didn't play Splatoon 1 but still.
I hope that all the people that played Splatoon 1 got amazing memories from the game!
I wish I experienced the game on release but sadly I couldn't.
GOODBYE SPLATOON 1 😭❤️. Though i havent played the game for myself, watching others play it, was honestly the best and funnest thing to experience. Sad to see what started the franchise only to see its online servers shut down 😭

Splatoon 1 was one of the only 5 games I really enjoyed on the Wii U, but unlike the others, it felt completely original and deep in value. Meanwhile, the other games I liked, such as Nintendo Land, Wii Party U, and Mariokart 8 were all very surface level in their approach of atmosphere and environment. The other splatoon games each have their strengths, but The OG will always be the best for me because it was the first time a Nintendo game actually told a story deeper than "Save the princess, kill Goombas."

Splatoon 1 is not all gone. There is Multiplayer Co-op Mode and Single Player Solo Story Mode. It’s just you can not have Splat wars with random people or your friends online in that game anymore. If you choose to live by Nintendo's Simulations like me.
