Lol!!! I cannot believe a met fan made this possible. I was looking for this! Thanks! I was 12 years old at the time and saw this game after Thurman Munsen's death. I remember it being intense and sad. Thanks Met Fan!!

I hope today's generation of Yankee fans has some appreciation for how great of a baseball player Thurman was. In this era of free agency & absurd contracts where too often fans get the impression that the primary concern of baseball players is not the game, what with endorsements & other things, Thurman would be a breath of fresh air. There was no BS in him. It was genuine with him & it looked that way to the fans. He was a great player who played in SEVERE pain: an example to his teammates.

It may be a video of a video, but it's still something on here that represents a true Yankee captain. Thanks

Carlton Fisk was interviewed the day after on the Game of the Week in Boston and had nothing but positives for Thurman, which was great because those two had a bitter dislike for one another.

My brother-in-law took me to the spot where his plane crashed and told me the sad part was this accident could have been avoided due to Thurman's lack of experience. It was also reported had he survived, Thurman would have been paralyzed the same as Roy Campanella.
