Lol!!! I cannot believe a met fan made this possible. I was looking for this! Thanks! I was 12 years old at the time and saw this game after Thurman Munsen's death. I remember it being intense and sad. Thanks Met Fan!!
I hope today's generation of Yankee fans has some appreciation for how great of a baseball player Thurman was. In this era of free agency & absurd contracts where too often fans get the impression that the primary concern of baseball players is not the game, what with endorsements & other things, Thurman would be a breath of fresh air. There was no BS in him. It was genuine with him & it looked that way to the fans. He was a great player who played in SEVERE pain: an example to his teammates.
I still have the newspaper from when he passed.....Would have been a Hall of Famer for sure!
It may be a video of a video, but it's still something on here that represents a true Yankee captain. Thanks
Man, maybe this is not cheap, this is priceless! Thanks for posting!
Carlton Fisk was interviewed the day after on the Game of the Week in Boston and had nothing but positives for Thurman, which was great because those two had a bitter dislike for one another.
I was at that game, 14 years old and i still remember like it was yesterday, earlier in the game booby had a ball pop off his glove into the stands for a home run...greatest game i ever saw. R.I.P. BOBBY AND THURMAN
Wow his locker is still not being used and its been 34 years..
I was 14 when he was killed not a Yankee fan,Munson was one of the few players on the Yankees I did like.
Never mind, this is it. Thank You
Thanks mets fan. I was 11 or 12 as well and cried like a baby when I heard about Thurman
s death.
I'm looking for the video of the Boss when he said the entire team was going to the funeral and would forfeit if they were not back in time.Any help?
My brother-in-law took me to the spot where his plane crashed and told me the sad part was this accident could have been avoided due to Thurman's lack of experience. It was also reported had he survived, Thurman would have been paralyzed the same as Roy Campanella.
youre welcome
