    • @fungially

      No idea what NSNS Tek is. Spawn is made from agar to G1 grain to G2 grain

      @ondrejv416 Před 5 lety +1

      @@fungially ah, sorry, NSNS stands for no soak no simmer grain spawn recipe as I am trying to get an idea how the grain spawn is made on a larger scale (I cant imagine that they soak and simmer them to get the right moisture contant as stands in the most of the recipes online), or are they? :) thanks for the answer though

    • @fungially
      @fungially  Před 5 lety +2

      @@ondrejv416 Yeah definitely NSNS. Some farms do soak overnight, most do not. We use vermiculite in our grain spawn 1000 grams grain then 200 grams vermiculite and finally 1000 grams water. Layered into the bag in that order, makes a 7ish lb bag of grain spawn in regular 14T unicorn bags. Then put it in the cooker.

    Does the sawdust come from pressure treated wood?

    • @fungially

      no the sawdust comes from a mill that is milling oak. Pressure treated wood will not work as it has anti fungal compounds in it.
