The fact that these tutorials are so in depth is what makes watching them more educational then your average you tube guru. Robert Jones is an actual makeup artists. If you want to watch a 5 five minute video of an amateur doing their makeup then there are plenty of other videos you could watch.
I love your makeup tutorials, 100% substance no long intros, simple and to the point.
It is great to see her face start to change shapes just with the magic of makeup.

alas I do stripe test!!!! BUT many times I can just tell by looking!!!! I'm old and have been doing it forever!!!!
to stripe test take 3 shades you think are correct and apply from jaw to neck!!!! make sure to blend them in!!!! the one that matches the neck is the perfect shade!!!!!
no the both work together to give you the best curl!!!! I actually many times use a third!!!! the heated eyelash curler!!! it's great because you can use it after mascara!!!

there are soooo many!!!! I think foundation is very personal!!!! you want one with a lot of pigment but low in velocity!!!! hope this helps!!!!

it could be a combination of things!!! color, formula, amount used!!!! try lightly brushing a matte bronzer over what you do and see if it photographs better!!! if it does it could be all three of those!!!!

Hey robert I have a problem : when I try to do the highlighting stuff on the undereye area it looks good the problem is when I have to take pictures, the undereye area appears a lot lighter than my skintone, it looks weird i have this white patch under my eyes. I usually put my concealer, than apply a little bit of translucent powder. AM I doing it wrong ? Or can the problem be related to the color of my concealer ? I hope you answer my question please it would reaaally help :) Thank you :)

one of my biggest pet peeves with beauty gurus is when they do not adapt the celebrity look to work for them, like you did with this gorgeous model. some go w/changing their foundation to be the same color as the celebrity even if its too dark/light for them normally!
take the elements that make it the celebs signature look, make it work for you, and voila! stunning!

It's great to see you do a smoky eye on a girl with less eye lid space than most make up models i see here on youtube, I really apreciate that since i dont have a lot of eye lid space myself and always have found it hard to do a lot of the looks i see on the tutorials ...now if you can do a tutorial on how to apply shadow on hodded eyes i would be very grateful

Robert, you always match the foundation so flawlesly to the models skin. I can't tell it apart! And I never see you test shades to check which one is right, Please tell me you do it prior to filming. (and perhaps how that process goes. That would be very helpfull.)

hehehe I know what you mean. I was working at fashion week last night and I didn't have time to test but, luckily, I have a good eye and it worked out. Although, as you know, the runway is more forgiving. I'm relieved to know there's some testing going on even at your level. That's the best way anyway.Thank you so much for replying!
