    Definitely one of the best modifications ive done to my truck! Added it more than a year ago on my 2018. I average 850 or so miles mixed city/highway driving, much nicer filling up every couple weeks instead of once a week lol.

    I have had mine installed on my 2020 for a few months now and I love it. I’m averaging around 800 to a tank city and we’ll over 1k on the highway. Fill ups every 4-5 weeks. Those numbers are with 37s and a Carli lift so stock trucks even better range.

    I have a 2018 extended range F150 w/ the 3.5 and seeing this literally makes me smile ear to ear. My youngest is 15 and after she moves out, the wife and I plan on doing lots of traveling and that's when the F150 will become a local hauler in favor of a 350 w/ something like this guy connected. I couldn't even imagine less than my extended range 36 gallon tank 600+ miles to empty is love.

    I swapped out the OE tank with the S&B 60 gallon unit in my 21 F350 and it was a snap (did it solo). Changed the tank volume with Forscan and now have a real-world cruise range of 1050 miles, with mixed driving. Money well spent IMO

    I put the S&B tank in before my cross country trip in May 2021(Idaho to Florida 2,298 miles one way). Absolutely the best mod to date! Averaging 8 mpg pulling my fifth wheel gave me safely a 400 mile range. I can’t even imagine trying to do that trip with the stock tank.
    Of course I had PTT use Forscan remotely to adjust the tank settings and turn off a bunch of those damn dingers like the double honk when the door closes while running🤬.
    Worth every penny! Thanks ARod!

    Been looking at the S&b tank for my truck. Tired of stopping ever two hours to get fuel while pulling the 5th wheel. I even saw where they have a assist pump from fast that plugs into the tank pretty simeless. Plus now with the stock fuel filters you add two more with the pump. So now you have four filters for the fuel.

    I installed the S&B in my 19 Dooty in my driveway. Mild pita due to the Texas heat, but, holy smokes, I got some range now! Couple that with my 55g transfer tank and I can really be selective with where I fill up. Since I tow my travel trailer alot this can really translate to cost savings. Like maybe avoiding filling up all together in California. 5 bucks a gallon. Gtf out.

      @talonpilot Před 3 lety +4

      The long bed trucks have a 48 gal tank. If you upgraded to the 65 gal, thats only an additional 120ish pounds of weight vs an extra 150+ miles of range (at 9 mpg). That’s over 2 hours of extra fuel, more if you’re pulling a light load and getting 12-15 mpg. I think that is worth the added weight penalty you’re implying.

    Good video thanks! I had the S&B installed on my 2016 F-250. Really would have been glad to use the factory skid plate. Unfortunately, only the 56 gal tank was available and extends 7.5" below the frame so factory skid plate was not an option and S&B no longer offers/makes a skid plate (they used to). The installed tank leaves only 10.5 " of ground clearance at the lowest point (where the sender unit sits) so this is concerning. To get a skid plate I'll need to find a fab shop to custom build one $$$. Also, I found out that if the DEF heater fails, which it will and did on mine, you'll need to drop the fuel tank to replace the unit in the DEF tank

    I love my 48 gallon tank on a '22 F350 long bed, so a 60 would be even netter.

    Definitely wanting to do this with mine too. Unfortunately the tanks are backordered right now.

    I have a 2022 350 long box. I think my tank is around 45 us gal. But I would love 60 gals or even more with the 8 foot box. I don't think they make one for my gas 6.2 liter engine as yet I hope they do. I'll upgrade for sure.

    I was going to order one... then I realized that I have a deposit down on a 2022 Ford F-150 Ligtning. :)

      If only, too bad nobody wants to deal with all the legal parts of making a bigger gas tank.

    Apparently the ‘23+ model years have an issue with tank size only being in PCM and people have had varying success with this, would you consider doing a video showing how to update the DTE on the ‘23+ trucks?

    Potentially (likely) incredibly stupid question but here goes, why do manufacturers seem to only make the bigger fuel tank for the diesel trucks but not the gas trucks? or can the tank be used for both?

      Federal law about something carrying that much gasoline without some certs or somthin to that effect....

    • @EvilEye1986
      @EvilEye1986 Před rokem +1

      back in the day big rigs used to run on gasoline instead of diesel. When there were accidents, the gasoline would ignite and there were far more fatalities and damage in general. Now there are laws and you only see bigrigs with diesel engines. Its just a safety thing.
