  • Discover the fascinating world of the honey buzzard, a unique raptor with extraordinary adaptations for a diet primarily consisting of wasp and bee larvae. Unlike other birds of prey, honey buzzards have developed thick skin around their neck and face, dense feathers for protection against stings, and even a degree of immunity to venom. This video explores how they use their long legs and toes to dig into nests, and uniquely among raptors, utilize sticks as tools to excavate nests. Watch as we delve into their life cycle, migration patterns influenced by their prey, and their late breeding season, showcasing their incredible survival strategies.
