Winston officially set sail, with ‘Love Ya Muti’ a contemporary “Afro-Jazz, R&B and Hip-hop” Song. The song was an instant smash hit, impacting both the national and private broadcasting media, including clubs and household listenership. Love Ya Muti was on #1 spot for 24 months vividly on Mr. Chisanga’s Sounds Arcade, and the composition brought along with it Red Linso.
Winston recollects; “I went into secular music for survival. I did not have a platform where I would use my music to earn a living in the church,” he says. “Am of the view that it is difficult for singers in the church to survive because they are not given an opportunity to showcase their music and earn a living from it.”
As demand for modern Zambian music compositions was skyrocketing; Winston had already begun performing his secular music country wide. He also went on to perform in other countries within the region including South Africa.
Winston (Zigi Man) is a Zambian Afro Jazz and R&B Artist. Arguably the first greatest Zambian cotemporally artist to have made prominent monumental cultural songs that influenced and impacted as well as receiving airplay across different age preferences by both the orthodox and secular listening community with His most popular hits such as never envisioned before of his genre. He set the blueprint for Zambian Cotemporally Compositions, and most Artist begun working to beat this momentous preceding achievement by a Zambian Artist.
Pensulo" spent over 18 Months as #1 in the Zambian charts, whilst Mulungu Wanga" spent more than 12 months at # 1 on the Radio Phoenix Local Rhythmz, Radio 4 and Sounds Arcades Countdowns respectively.
