What was your favorite item?? Mine has to be the solar powered spinny thingy
SAMEEEEE!!!
yea that was pretty cool
nah the hand thing was the best
are you doing another reaction video to the subreddit again soon
Yo, man! Did you actually check out the programme about Automata through the ages (the last few hundred years)!?!?
It's truly fucking amazing, it's called "Clockwork Dreams", check it out - ALL of you lot check it out! The size of these things is amazing! I mean, the screws involved, you need a magnifying glass to see properly. And back then, they probably didn't all have that luxury of getting to use one... Man, the precision involved in these automate is truly, truly, TRULY mindblowing! Watch and enjoy!

RattleBack is great for getting dates. “Wanna go out? Spin clockwise for yes, counter-clockwise for no.”
Love u Wes and your vids
You totally rock
Ah Wes! Always finds aWESome methods ;-)

The 1920s genius
Well he isnt actually wrong

oh no. the day has come. we have to say it the full way!?!?!?!?! no I always did anyways!
@@baggabarz the irony in you calling him “genius” is almost palpable
That “Coffee Engine” is called a Stirling Engine. Fun stuff!
and it's not keeping the coffee warm...it just needs a heat differential to work.
Ur right. They are cool things.
PS that means they run on icecubes as well.
Omg you thank you for typing it down in the comments
12:11 its a stirling engine. It works by the air expanding and Contracting by the heat difference of the top and bottom of the chamber, which pushes the Piston up and down.
Stirling engines are so damn cool. Except when people try to claim they're perpetual motion devices, in which case they're eyeroll-inducing.
@@Zelmel I know right, they really don't realize that it hasn't been made yet.
9:41 thanks for this baguette moment.
oh, amazing to find one of your comments here!!! :D
Love your videos!!! They are so intricate and visually pleasing!!!
And OF COURSE, amazing ASMR!!! ^_^
I love it to much
"We're going to find him a nice place to live, where he can spend his days, waiting" - Thats deep
The intro is so cool. You're good at editing
It’s not editing. xD
@@ahiptothehop4077 oh yeah my bad
@Margaret Goydan and that's my bad too
Insyirah Mira
Pretty cool tho xD
@Margaret Goydan i don't understand you
"the coffee engine" still spins for several minutes after you take it off because its main driving mechanism is a flywheel, which conserves centrifugal energy once you get it going so it keeps going for a long while after you stop giving it energy
on a mug of coffee one of the metal plates can get seriously hot though and will take a while to cool down. I bet is was a combination of those things.
@@sjoerdvogel3352 that would make sense, given he did say he thought it was still gaining speed after he'd taken it off the coffee
It is called a Sterling engine. It is set in motion by thermal differentiation. The air contracts and expands and pushes the piston when one of the plates is warmer or colder than the other. The energy is transferred through a linkage rod to the fly wheel which temporarily stores the energy like a capacitor as it dissipates.
I was waiting for the "skip ad" for a good 10 seconds linto the intro. Phenomenal. I literally thought the intro was an ad. Lol.
Love love love this intro so much! Giving off ‘A Series of Unfortunate Events’ vibes! I wish there was more, I felt like I was watching the beginning of a show! Totally pulled me in 😍
Art of Play has so many cool things to make houses, apartments and offices look so good
The last time I was this early, the Excalibur was still unsolved
Art of Play really hooked you up with neat gifts. Also, the colour grading gives the wood a really lush colour.
the rattleback crafted in wood looks way cooler than my small one in plastic i had when i was a teen, but those thing are really relaxing to play with
Love it all! 💯💯♥️♥️ So aesthetically beautiful, each and every one of it! Thank you Sir for showcasing every single trove! 👏🏻👏🏻
Chris is slowly turning into the Grand Illusions channel with all his collections.
so fun fact: that coffee engine is actually called a Stirlingsengine, it uses an exchange ratio between warn and cold air to power the pistons.
It doesn't insulate, however, its used in fridges to keep the insides cold. that's also why on most fridges the backside is actually hot.
We even see similar engines used in submarines and even space stations.
Right - it was invented by a Scottish preacher that was sick of burying people that had died from early internal combustion engine explosions. It didn't really take off because metal alloys improved to the point where internal combustion engines stopped exploding as often, and Stirling engines couldn't compete with them on power output alone.
Because it's powered by the difference in temperatures between the upper and lower plates, Chris could have made it spin even faster by placing an ice cube on top of the upper plate while his coffee was underneath the lower plate.
It's such an intriguing little device.
Chris is amazing! One of my favorite youtubers. Great content and always excited for a new upload!
He said I appreciate the Australians watching this at 3 in the morning AS IT TURNED 3 IN THE MORNING that’s a once in a lifetime coincidence I swear
lol
The items are so satisfying to watch. I enjoy watching you do these type of videos.
I liked this. Glad its a seasonal thing as I love your puzzles and tutorials, but it was a good change of pace. Well done sir.
That shallow bag with the piece of wood is so easy! He nearly had it when he tried to turn the bag inside out!
He solves it at the end of the video 👍🏻
First time here, saw the intro, subbed
The patterns on the handkerchiefs totally got me thinking of the Yosegi Marquetry on Japanese puzzle boxes! So cool looking
I would definitely love assembling things like the DaVinci robot, something about seeing mechanics come together is just so satisfying
The solar powered item is wayyy cool and much larger than I imagined
7:25 It's true btw, due to earth's magnetic pull, all items made in Australia rotate on different axis causing them to function differently to other things not from there.
That's not true
We also all have kangaroos or koalas as pets. I wasn’t sure what a dog was until I visited the US. True story
I liked the solar thing and the coffee-steam-machine. I also liked that chilled intro.
Thany you Chris! Great puzzles and art objects! Wow!!!! They just blew my mind! But to wipe the table with handkerchiefs made in the traditional Japanese painting technique was like a nail on glass for me.
I love the coffee engine
Art of Play: "Yer a wizard, Ramsay!"
Beautiful! These ancient pieces of craft work make for my FAVORITE episodes of yours
This is just so beautiful video and things. 😀
Thanks Chris and Art Of Play !
Damn that b roll in the intro was dope
"... When you build things in Australia they spin the other way ..." [dies laughing]
please do more unboxings like this! this was awesome
I’m just finding your channel and awesome videos. I’m impressed you do have amazing puzzle skills. Great content. Thank you for sharing with us all
Either Chris has a female modeling these items or Antoine is really earning that pay check
One doesn’t experience self-transcendence, the illusion of self only dissipates🔻
Does anyone know what the song in the intro is called? It calms me so much!
Really loved the first item with the spiral jar tower. Also excited to see the mystery card bricks!!
I swear that the Drawmaton is just mechanically reproducing a Fourier Transform...

@@ahiptothehop4077 OVER 50 VIDEOS have 1M+ ??!! XD
You really brighten up my day bud! Always helps to see your new videos pop up in my feed after a bad mental health day!! Stay safe!
All of your vids are sooo well made Chris. Keep it up!
Ok so that arm one is based on an automoton, there's one called the writer who does the almost the exact same thing as well as another who can draw, 5 pictures and write 3 poems? Look them up, very fascinating! Great video as always!
"Tiny little blankets" so good 🤣🤣! I really like the robot drawing arm, I think it would be super interesting and fun to try and design my own wheels to create different drawings. Funnily enough, even though I haven't seen it before, I thought of the sumo puzzle solution as soon as you pulled it out, it just goes to show how a different perspective can make things a while lot simpler! Thanks so much for the awesome video Chris!
I am positive that you would only need to stretch apart the middle points of the sides of the opening of the blanket such as a square will form (one triangle for each side of the blanket, the bottom of the blanket would be a diagonal of the square) such as you could place the wood right on top and then close it up.
edit: watched until the end, nicely done
I could sit and watch the spiral for hours. Those kind of things settle my brain and just mesmerize me.
loveeeeee the drawmaton. during the lockdown i've discovered my love for the robotime sets!
I was so memorized by the Da Vinci's Drawmaton I actually got one to give as a Christmas present. I was so tempted to get one for myself, just for the pleasure of building it. I'm so glad I saw it on your video. Thanks Chris for sharing it with us.
Best video I've watched on here in a good while - nice work mate
Chris, please give us a tour and show us where the coolest collectables and puzzles are displayed! I sooo wanna see the coolest collection on CZcams, (maybe the earth!)
Always love these Art of Play Videos!
Really awesome video. Those gadgets are extremely cool. Let's open those decks chris!!!
Besides all the great content you do, the intro to this one? 😳 Loved loved loved it! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
My favorite was the coffee gizmo and the spinning thingy.
Speaking of gizmos, I miss playing gizmos and gadgets at school on the computer, that and Oregon trail.
You are my favorite magician. I decided to pick magic up and work hard on it and any time I lose motivation I watch your videos. I love you videos so much man keep doing a great job
That intro was like ASMR for my eyes 😌My favourite piece is the Da Vinci Drawmaton - stunning! ✍️ Never seen anything like that here in the UK.
This video was incredibly therapeutic! & indeed very magical✨🧩
You have the best melodic vlogs chris🙏🏼
BY FAR the most amazing thing on your table is the DrawMaton. I really want one of those.
I love that Eric and Wes watch all ur videos now. They ain't trying to miss a puzzle just in case u ask them to solve it for money lol. Plus can't wait on my v4. I got one of each, order them 2 weeks ago so hopeful they will be here soon. Cheers
he had me at “pack so small and to play so big”
Love your stuff and the time you put in it.
Also looking forward to the next BoB ;-)
Great vid, Chris! Those items look so cool!
The INTROS ... Aaaaah ... just awesome as HECK! Love your vids man ! Keep it up...
Method of solving the last sumo puzzle is so simple and clever at the same time!👍👍
oh wow... Sumo in Blanket is pretty awesome puzzle. very unique. love it!
Loved the video, absolutely amazing products🙏🔥
• Rattlebacks are amusing, but get a Gömböc.
• The "coffee engine" is a Stirling engine, and it should run from the heat of your palm.
• The drawmaton uses epicycles and Fourier series. Mathologer did a video on the "Homer Simpson's orbit".
I like the Australian wobble board thingy. Reminds me of my dog. I say "Lets go this way no...... you want to go the other way. Sigh. okay lets go ypur way". Bless him.
By the way I loved today's video in the end there is a puzzle to solve ❤️❤️❤️❤️ love puzzles and magic , love you Chris ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I'm so glad you finished the sumo puzzle at the end
These most recent intros that you’ve been giving us are award worthy. Thank you, more please.
Drawmaton 🤯. Great video - look forward to the unboxing of the Mystery Decks 🤟
Chris! I just downloaded the room Vr on my oculus VR headset and it is amazing you have to try and makes some videos of you playing it you will love it!!
I loved the very first thing, the solar powered doo-hickey. My mum has a thermometer that has the same mesmerising effect of moving glass bubbles suspended in liquid inside an outer glass case.
The red and blue lines in the intro i thought my tv was going out thank you for your awesome content!
I love this I think you should do this way more it’s so cool
Love your videos... that sumo in a blanket puzzle was getting to me until you solved it, I absolutely love puzzles.like that.
The relief I felt when you went back to solve the sumo puzzle! My OCD was going crazy.
13:20 its a stirling engine, it creates mechanical energy throught the TRANSFER of thermal energy. It can also work the other way and pump heat if mechanical energy is applied.
The intros just get better and better!! Keep it up man!
"You will always have a Link in my description"
Thats somehow romantic. :D
For real... I blush when he said that😂
i loved the coffee spinny spin and i loved the "wobble stone" u would say ;P
Glad I stumbled across this channel I've been binge watching last 48 hrs
Wow everything about this video was amazing
“For something to pack so small and to play so big, I feel like that’s the magical part of it”
Well I know my new favorite catchphrase 😂
Honestly, one of the better intros, so simple but so intriguing!
man i love all the vids you make i hope your doing well in these trying times
Chris, you mentioned board games you like: have you played/do you like Betrayal at House on the Hill? I love that one personally.
Love the color grading on this video man 🔥
Man your intros are SO good, i'd love to see a movie/documentary directed by you!
the sounds of the items working in the intro was extremely satisfying.
CHRIS, I LOVE THE INTROS. KEEP THE CREATIVE IDEAS COMMING!
Awesome video - Thanks for giving me the link .. did lots of window shopping for the unaffordable items lol
