Now let me get this straight.
We aren’t talking about ATM fees. We’re talking about a fee just to use your card anywhere.
And you want to do away with cash money that has no fee.
Makes cents. For the banks.
It would not hurt people. It is greed from banks with ridiculous charges just to line their pockets with easy cash.
Hmm, Bank and Credit Card CEOs are people too, and they could lose millions from swipe fees. :)
If it's for the people then why are the two main lobbyists that support the bill Walmart and Target?
Use cash dumb FK amazingly easy to solve ! But you couldn’t possibly do that now could you ,dumb FK?
Don't have any credit cards, too predatory...
I want my rewards. Raise swipe fees. Do you really think companies will lower prices. They did this with debt cards and saw an increase of fee based checking accounts.
The word CONSUMER needs to be replaced with the word PEOPLE. Let's fight for people. We have souls, spirits. We are more than just an eating machine.
we are not eating machines, we are wallets, and everyone wants a cut
@@seymourwrasse3321 Speak for yourselves, I am a meat popsicle
Direct your comment to Biden. BTW it's a good idea, Ms. Thinker!
Swipe fees go to those who pay their credit cards in the form of points. He's doing this for corporations.
He’s trying to get rid of swipe fees not increase them.
@@richardrobertson1886 and I am saying the consumer benefits from swipe fees more than corporations.
@@richardrobertson1886 in fact, it's just another example of corporate America trying to screw over the people. It will not make things more affordable.
In the bill it makes the credit card to deny gun and ammunition sales
Just what we need. More laws.
I don't use credit cards... ZERO. Too stupid for me.
Try to rent a car without a CC,better have cold cash on hand.😎🌴
@@pedrorodriguez2914 i built my first house with out ever knowing what my credit score was. I simply told the bank how much I will be borrowing and it was a fast transaction. The banks mortgage person said that I was the fastest and easiest mortgage they ever did, no arguing or discussions over rates, budgets, payments, no PMI, no first time home buyers nonsense. I regulary use 30 to 85% of my credit card every month and I spent $17k on toys not related to the house before I closed with the bank. They didnt care.
Good interview Charles. Thank you. Give us more Charles.
Its a bad bill ,its for gun confiscation long term. Wake up
How does this help people?
This just helps corporations, yet again.
Welcome to the Republican party. The party of big business.

If a place says they charge a "convenience" fee to use a credit card, I conveniently send them a check.
Marshall’s name is on this bill. I think further investigation needs to be done on exactly why they want this bill to pass. There’s always more to the story.
why would you need a bill? It violates the interstate commerce clause of the US Constitution
They should fix it where it can be easier to file bankruptcy on these card . And fix it with a max interest rate of 10% over prime as so are charging over 30%
What if you don’t use or own a credit card how does this help me and not the corporations who own the cards?
I use a credit card to get things. Do use a credit card for some things but ALWAYS pay it off immediately as soon as it shows up on my statement. Have no debt.
Exactly. I am No economist, but what limited knowledge I have, I recently purchased a NEW VIHICLE from the dealer. I made my best deal and financed it through the dealer. Upon returning home, I went straight to MY BANK and Refinanced it through them at a much lower annual percentage rate, along with paying off almost the entire principal.
So make it easier to put people in perpetual debt? 🤦♂️
how about barring them from tracking 2A purchases
Why doesn’t the government pay off my credit card? They did student loans?
They haven’t paid off student loans yet…
Another tax 😂
I pay 24.5% int.on my credit card,weaponless robbery.😎🌴
If anyone wants to help “consumers” how about teaching people how to get out of debt and stay out of it? Expanding credit card debt is NOT helping anyone but those who profit from their use.
My debt of despair is my medical bills ‼️ I don't get the treatments I need to keep from filing bankruptcy ‼️
NO BLIND SPOTS IN SCHOOLS
There shouldn't be anyplace, that isn't a bathroom or locker room, that isn't clearly seen, heard, and publicly viewable in schools and adults who enter those private areas, without a legitimate concern for safety, that's provable, should face charges

CHARACTER 2022 ?
Some of us are as God planned
Though many are far worse.
Our characters are not of marble
So the Devil may work his curse.
Fame is what we steal or take
Character is what we give.
To this truth we must awake
So we might begin to live.
There is some good in all of us
Which may not show at first.
With good character of heart and soul
We prepare ourselves for the worst.
Show me a liar and you have found a thief
Whose character is controlled by hell.
They love what's wrong and hate what's right
And they're lucky they're not all in jail.
The power of truth helps preserve mankind
When our angel within is allowed to rise.
Men, women, children, kings and presidents
Are blessed by deeds not falsehoods or lies.
They raise the price to cover credit card fees and cash payers pay them also.
Yes I am seeing that at restaurant already if you use credit card it’s extra fee
I know you don't know anything substantial in terms of how-to stuff. I know that much. You can do a nine to five, granted, but apart from that.... Names, brother? You have them....? You have names?

What the Senator can and should do is close down the Dept of Education. Send Education back to the States as per the Constitution that he swore to uphold.

I looked up "Uncle Tom" in the dictionary and there was a portrait of Charles Payne.
Still looking for that HANDOUT, or having working people pay your BILLS?
Compatition is good, however consumers don't pay credit card swipe fees, the retailer does. Consumers only pay for debit cards but can escape that by requiring it be run as credit, no cost. So who is benefiting? Retailers? Big money backers? Also if the Fed raises interest rates, rates go up for all including CC companies. So before we propose legislation let's at least understand how the business works and be transparent as to why it is good. Shame on Mr Payne for not asking the questions. Let's hope and pray for everyone especially Mr Payne and Senator Marshall to see the light and do the right things for everyone not just themselves. My opinion
If the cost of doing business goes up for the retailer, so will the consumer cost !!
The retailer passes as much of the cost on swipe fees as they can to the customer. A lot of places have discounts for cash, sometimes even discounts for debit cards. The credit card companies REALLY started screwing people even harder after the 08' crash because they went to all variable rates. CC companies have to charge over prime but not 5 times or more over prime. Then they make money on swipe fees, percentage fees, loans on CC income, etc. CCs are a huge scam and we would be better off if they never existed.
This country is being run by greed……don’t fall for it anymore….pay cash, cut up your cards, keep one for emergencies….and always remember….needs and wants, don’t confuse the two……
Ban credit cards.
People need to use cash instead of using cards for everything.
I support competition!!!
