It’s very close to the source material. We worked hard to make sure we represented the storyline properly. Designing on this was a blast!
thank you for your work dude you are awesome! On top of making sure you got the representation down, Did you guys have fun and enjoy yourselves?
A
Awesome, pal. Thank you for your work and passion! I am a big fan of the comic. I look forward to watching this!
Why did You use 3d animation why
Poor David
Yeah, cuz last I checked there always was a Watchmen movie.. guess it’s getting a fresh coat of paint huh?

"We do not do this thing because it is permitted. We do it because we have to.
We do it because we are compelled.” - Rorschach, speaking to the prison psychiatrist.
I personally did not like this change, makes Rorschach seem more heroic than the unhinged individual who is motivated by a compulsion
I've been waiting for this animated adaptation since it was first announced back in 2017
But it was announced last year though 🤔
Lame
@@ninjagamer1359 it was first announced back in 2017 and until last year there was no word about it
And all we get is a lame 3D animation.
I readed Dave Gibbons was in the project, no?
Bro we got the comic, then we got a live action movie, then a tv show, and now we got an animated feature film. I AM HYPED!!!
There was also a motion comic.
That movie was terrible, ruined everything about the og novel
The motion comic is still the best to this date 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻. RIP Tom Stechschulte (who was the VA of it)
@@Dramarys-k1ehow it was the exact same as the comic??
@@ThumbsUpGuy1 The movie was very much different than the comic actually. To start off small, the distinct colors were used for the comic to create more distorted look from the primary colors being used with most superheroes. However, in the movie, they’re replaced with a more gray and bland color palette, completely removing the uniqueness of and effort that went into Watchmen’s look. More intense action to make the characters look more powerful and lots of unnecessary slow motion was added which took away from most of the story. After all, the Watchmen comic is more of a mystery and a drama, and should be portrayed as such, instead of being shown as your common superhero action blockbuster. And most importantly, the movie was not exactly the same as probably the most important part of Watchmen’s story, it’s ending, was completely changed, rendering the entire story and all of its points mostly useless. These are just a few examples, but they and the entire Watchmen movie in general to be honest are proof why, in my eyes, Snyder is one of the worst superhero movie directors and writers we’ve ever had. He consistently numbs down the intelligence and importance of countless superhero stories with mindless, unnecessary violence and simply bad plot and writing. Not only did he completely butcher one of the world’s most popular and intelligent graphic novels just because he didn’t understand it, but he also ruined thousands of people’s perception of it, showing them a ruined and overall version of a beautiful and extremely important story. But after all, Alan Moore does have a curse of making fantastic stories and gaining horrible adaptations in return.
" None of you seem to understand, I am not locked in here with you guys...You are locked in here with me" - Rorschach
My favourite comic book movie is getting an animated show!!!
I bought a poster of this, one of two, that I have on my wall. As a reminder.
I’d prefer if it was more of a 2-D style than CGI. But I’ll still give it a try! 🙂
my too
Also 3-D
2d is dead, deal with it
@@MatthewLoh-ru1mw Don't worry. 2D to 3D Return. 🙂

a meta commentary on Watchmen adaptations?
Why's that guy got a picture of my mom and dad fighting on his face?
This made me laugh 😂
congratulations, you actually made me laugh out loud
ahahaha made me laugh
An animated adaptation... OF TWO PART?!?!
You had my curiosity, now you have my attention
I think they learned of the Snyder's movie and going to adapt the story better
@@DavidGarcia-pl2hz snyder’s adaptation was pretty 1:1 if you actually rewatch it.
@@officegossip Kinda the ending was a big change though
@@obsidian2249 that’s definitely the biggest change but I understand why he did it. Even though I dont agree with it.
@@officegossip Same, After I watched the ultimate cut I was confused but than I understood why. Still don't think it was a change for the better though.
Now THIS, is an animated movie event that I can get behind!
Is “Watchmen Babies: V for Vacation” going to get a rerelease? I’m dying to learn which Watchmen Baby is Alan Moore’s favorite
If they include the newsstand subplot that the live action movie left out, this is peak.
Have you not seen the Ultimate Cut then?
I was a teen when I first read Watchmen. The Hollis Mason bits were too dry for me, so I skipped reading most of them. It didn't affect the story, surprisingly.
I re-read a couple times in my 20s and 30s, and I love them, now.
Alan Moore redifined comics with this series.
Swamp Thing, League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Top 10, and V4V were all innovative and brilliant.
@@rumo510the Hollis mason segments are honestly great interludes, feels like an actual literary book you’re reading within a comic
There's an Ultimate Cut that actually puts that and the Tales of the Black Freighter in the movie where it belongs
There’s going to be more cut material here. It’ll be at least an hr shorter.
That said, that subplot IS in the actual version of the Snyder film: director’s cut.
Looks really cool! Now we have three ways to experience the story - motion comic, movie and this animation - as well as a sequel - the tv series - and prequels… and the original.
Wow… not to mention crossovers.
¡Meanwhile at Alan Moore's house!:
Alan Moore: ¡ANGER!... and money
If it's a 1:1 recreation of his comic then it might only be mild irritation as opposed to furious anger 😂
He already is
@@wastelander138Even then, there MIGHT be some or teeny tiny small little changes to it
He's refused any money from Watchmen for years 🙄
He doesn’t even get the money. He gives it to Gibbons and the rest of the guys that worked on it.
Finally we’re getting The animated adaptation of watchmen!
Owned by Paramount Home Entertainment and Warner Bros. Home Entertainment (Studio Distribution Services).
Coincidentally, Paramount Pictures was also the same company behind Fleischer and Famous Studios' Superman cartoons (1941 to 1943).
Truly a coincidence, since all of the people working on those cartoons are most certainly dead
Weird since Warner Bros have their own Warner Bros Pictures they don't really need Paramount but I guess they only use their own for live action movies.
0:32 I'm batman 😂
0:01 Warner Bros animation, Paramount Pictures and DC. JEJE amazing crossover
This movie will be faithful to the comics
Should've been a series
So was Zack Snyder's
@@danielrockensteady4651 zach snyder’s was a hollow empty shell of an adaptation. he completely misunderstood the meaning and nuance of the book, they say the same lines from the book but they don’t mean the same

I was expected a 2D animated movie, this looks like Marvel What if series...
Yeah because the same people are making it they also are rumors of DC making there on what if
not a big Zack Snyder fan here but his Watchmen was pretty much the comics frame to frame and perfectly fine, so not sure why we need this now on top?
delulu tbh
TBH I'm Watching Those Movies Afterall On March of 2009 a 18 year old Jamal Vargas went to his local Movie Theatre and saw the original Live Action Watchmen and enjoyed what he gotten heck besides Terminator Salvation that year Watchmen was that one superhero movie that I loved quoting for an entire year
I'm not a fan of that animation style, but I'm excited to check this out. Watchmen is easily one of the best graphic novels of all time.
TERRANCE OUT
this should be rated R
It is don't worry bro
Depends if the pirates are part of the story.
He likes Zack's legendary Watchmen Movie and the time provided his movie was a masterpiece
Oh I'm down for this.
This looks amazing just like the 2009 live action movie
I Know Right? Jackie Earle Haley was a Beast playing as Rorschach.
I hope we get the Squids!
Well that was the part I didn't like from the comics. Squids?? Really??
The end of the live action movie was way more powerful than squids....
@@giannisksanthopoulos4300 That's because the squids were a product of their time. They worked when the comic first came out. They don't any more. That's why the live action movie changed it.
@@Mark73 The squids work 100 percent. They're fake Lovecraftian monsters from outer space.
Tell me it’s gonna be on a streaming service like crave 😭🙏
Is this DC’s response to What If ?
It looks they hired the same team 😅
I am so freaking excited for this!!
Funny thing is i watched this movie for the first time like a week ago and i am still excited to see it again with this adaptation .
Have you not read the comic?
This deserves to be in theaters so bad. Please WB stop snubbing your animation arms.
I was never really a big fan of the 2009 film but I do hope that Billy Crudup comes back to reprise his role as Dr. Manhattan. I always thought he did a fantastic job playing as him.
The movie is just okay, but I always thought Manhattan and Rorschach were spectacular in that film. They were perfectly casted imo
Without this, y'all would've never had "THE BOYS".
Inaccurate assumption
Oh cool TellTale's Watchmen
We only get watchmen media so Warner and dc don’t lose the license to the ip and payout Alan Moore
Hope this is in theaters!
you can tell by how cheap and awful the animation looks that this will NEVER be in theaters 😂
All future comic adaptations need to look like this. I would love to see The Killing Joke done in this style.
This looks exciting! Can't wait to see it released
We need more trailers
I’m so excited for this
I'm glad that Paramount Pictures is back to Co-produce the movies
The sound design matches very close to what you would hear in real life. We worked very hard to make sure we immersed you in the audio. Working as a sound designer on this was blast!
Would 💖to hear behind-the-scenes stories about how you did the audio!
Some guy left an identical comment talking about the graphic design. So you're either lying, a bot or a marketing account.
Looks brilliant!
But I also noticed a lack of diversity. We must push diversity all the time in all manner until we have a fully diverse planet and that will end all violence.
If you want something faithful to the original comics : read the comics.
@@OSCURO333 the comment went over your head didn’t it?
Shouldve Been 2.5D Stylized Animation or 2D CG Stylized Animation
Can I just feed the graphic novel to ChatGPT, like storyboards, and ask it to generate an animation? ;-P
This is gonna be kinda weird. I see Dave Gibbons art in this but the 3D aspect kinda throws it off a bit. Maybe my eyes are settling in or something but im gonna give it a shot. Hopefully its better than Snyder's
Finally a different animation style
As much as I love the Zack Snyder's movie, I always wanted to see a more faithful version of the comics, hope this will do the adapt the comics fully.
I mean you can see the similarities in the trailer from his movie.
@@jingleginies Name one of Snyder's changes from the source material that is here in the trailer.
@@austinmeghuZack Snyder doesn’t understand the source material only thing he understand is slow motion and fight scenes
@@yarc9wrong he fully understands the source especially when WB wanted him to change it but he told them no
@@filmgoblin5016 Yeah, he understood it so much that he actively changed the ending and tried to make Rorschach seem like less of a psychotic murdering loser like he is in the comics.
I’m one of those grumpies that think this is unnecessary but only because I’m looking at this through a comic reader’s lens. The comic is perfect as is and very extensive. But if it leaves enough room to pull in interests for people to actually read and appreciate the art of the original medium, so be it. Goodness knows there’s not enough readers nowadays.
Whoa, I'm very excited to see this!
I NEED IT!
As someone who read the comic, saw the slow version of Snyder and the HBO max series, which is magnificent (is my opinión)
It makes me want to see the adaptation again because the computer animation looks spectacular to see it in the cinema ❤🙏

The more I explore Watchmen, the more I realize what an excellent work of philosophical dissemination it truly is. I'm happy they're still putting things out for it, more people need to experience it.
We're so back
How it looks! 😮.... 🤯
yeah it looks like a video game cut scene in 2011 haha this looks absolutely horrible 😂
Nice editing. I love it when i feel like i'm blinking very fast
I'm seeing What If animated vibes 🔥
The art style is the way it is because it's meant to resemble the art style of Dave Gibbons, who drew the original graphic novel.
they messed up the logo. the C in Watchmen is a slightly larger font than the rest of the text.
This looks great! Can’t wait for this one!
idk much about watchmen. are they some sort of justice league but overpowered group of individuals?
Just read the graphic novel it’s amazing
Its a bit of a spin on the superhero genre. The comic is written by Alan Moore who did V for Vendetta if that gives any more of an idea for what its like.
@@sagebear9739and league of extraordinary gentlemen
they used to be a team of superheros until they were made illegal and none of them have power except for the blue guy who is just VERY overpowered.
The latter
I love that since the straight-to-dvd line is about to be retooled to fit in with the Gunn-verse, they decided to go all out by adapting two of the greatest DC stories of all time for their last traditional year and in multiple parts no less!
Who watches the Watchmen?! 😮😲😨😱
the watcher lol this looks like _what if...?_
His side chick definitely
Us, the readers and fans
Ozymandias
We do)))
On one hand, I'm not sure how I feel about this. On the other hand, spending money on this will probably make Alan Moore cranky, which is always incredibly satisfying no matter how easy it is.
Alan Moore voice: "Ice cream? I fookin hate it! The beach? What are ya a fookin child? I hate it!"
Looking like an episode of What If... -- and I'm all for it!
This is awesome, hopefully we get Doomsday clock as well, the sequel and crossover event
I wish this was a theatrical release rather than a straight to blu ray release.
It'll probably have a limited theatre run just like *shudders* killing joke
@@austinmeghu Careful friend, we are not to speak of that terrible adaption!
@@GuardianKyle Yup it didn't happen. What I meant to say was limited run like Batman mask of the phantasm!
I’m fine with any release, but, I’d love to see it on the big screen too! Not every day one gets to work on such a great project!
Unless each film is over 2 hours long(without counting credit sequences), this can't do the comic book maxiseries justice. I *really* hope that this animated film 2-parter is as great as it should be!
Está linda a animação que esta obra de arte seja feita fiel igual a HQ
The animation looks great. Can't wait.
lol no it doesn’t 😂
I already miss Jackie Earle haley 's Rorschach
We need the full trailer ❤
Oh man. Look, I was there when the live action film was released and it's still fresh in my brain from start to finish. Then I saw the extended edition, which was amazing, then I saw the Ultimate Edition, which was next level. I honestly have no idea how an animated adaptation of the same film is going to be any better.
Have you ever read the original comic book this and the 2009 movie are based off of? Since I would definitely recommend reading them even though you've seen the movie.
if they got the story better than Snyder, they will definitely do a better adaptation. not difficult 🤷🏻♂️
This needs a grain filter or something. It's so clean that it looks incomplete.
That looks amazing!
Please do Before Watchmen and Doomsday clock next
This is like the "What If" of DC Comics because of the animation style.
I honestly though I'd seen this before but then it hit me, it's just like the graphic novel.
Art look like Marvels what if
It definitely does, do you think some of the artists worked on this adaptation?
Give me the 2nd season of the tv show😮💨
Alan Moore live reaction: ._.
Accurate
MORE SISTER NIGHT!
The exact story we've already seen in live action and in graphic novel form? Eh.
I like how at least in the live action series they went in a direction we haven't yet seen. Tired of the same retellings. Uncle Ben died, we get it. We don't need it 8 times in 20 years. Same thing with Watchmen. Stop beating the horse.
Just , read the comic. The pacing, voices, actions and details are all better rendered.
People gonna love it
Above all they will love the blackwashing of Dr Manhattan
Hopefully this can fill the void that the original movie left. It's time to settle the score once and for all! 🌟 The wait time is finally over.
I can't believe myself saying this but, I think Snyder's ending was a little bit better.
Yes indeed let us see how well they are determined to stop the real bad guys.
So the Zack Snyder movie but in a Marvel What If art style?
There's already a motion comic that came out in 2008. This is now the third time this story is being told in a different format of illustration- not including the original comic. There's even Paxamericana which tells practically the same story.
The bar for media has been set so low that they are still making remakes/reboots of movies not even 20 years old.
🤩❤️🔥💥
Watchmen es el mejor comic de la historia, solo pido que esto salga bien
This looks and feels like Zack Snyder’s 2009 Watchmen film
-Man who's never read a comic in his life.
@@austinmeghu I own Alan Moore’s Watchmen and many other graphic novels and comic books.
Edit: Snyder’s Watchmen is one of the best DC films ever made
Might be how the trailers is edited (action packed, tense n shish), but hey let's see how they do it once this releases
Someone already did a Motion Comic version. Find it on CZcams. I really liked that version.
This looks okay
I like how Rorschach was changed to The Question, since he was too similar to year 1 batman in his brutality.
What is also amazing is how much this and the snyder movie looks so close to the source material. Amazing work!
I was hoping this would one day exist! Yes!
