    Note to everyone in lower elos: playing off-angles will not give you much of an advantage, because people don't aim at any angles in the first place

    Angles are crucial to be aware of, but a good player won't rush into peeking angles that he expects. Good way to get all the angles covered is to slowly move the crosshair through every possible angle when u come out of the corner. TLDR "cut angles"

    if omen wanted a bigger advantage, then taking a wider angle could be viable since he should be confident with an op. ( if hes not then why buy it.) The true error was his super tight angle hold, because it assumes they will deddi peak his off angle defeating the purpose of it. The off angle isn't horrible if you think of it as an overheat, and it will also allow the omen to be tuck from the jett. If there were 2 ct though, an off Angle becomes objectively bad. ( the omen thought of literally none of this and just went click a ignore hookah)

  • @Mycrosss
    @Mycrosss Před 2 lety +8

    You can see its a low rank game by the fact that the omen was holding the tightest angle ever. It's always the plats and dia players who place their crosshair literally next to the edge, thinking they've got god reflexes. Pro tip - place your crosshair an entire agent depth away from the angle. Most of the time players swing, if they jiggle, you're not hitting that shot anyway. AND, it's way easier to slightly adjust to the left and do a micro flick, then to try and trace a dude swinging you as widely as possible. Plus, if you miss and the enemy swings, you die, if you miss and the enemy jiggles, you just move back and dont get punished.

    • @AtomicAlchemist
      @AtomicAlchemist Před rokem

      3 months late but yes, yoru's tp isnt fast enough meaning that you can get traded or otherwise killed before you teleport. If for example you get flashed and someone immediatelly peeks off the flash, they can kill yoru before he can teleport away. You can sometimes get away if the enemies miss their shots or dont peek fast enough, but its a bit of a gamble, its a lot riskier than a jett or chamber

    While the points you made are correct in most situations, I personally believe that the option to hold an off angle was correct for Omen. Honestly, either choice of playing safer or playing an off angle was correct in my opinion, though the off angle gives the highest chance of winning the round. Reasons being that there are 2 enemies left alive. He hears 1 tp, which means there can only be 1 enemy in CT at most. By playing an off angle, he maximizes his chance of winning first contact duel, and since there is only 1 player, he cannot be traded if he wins the duel. Another reason being that KAY/O was low hp. There was a high chance KAY/O would die without getting a kill, and would leave the Omen in a 1v2 situation with an OP, which is definitely not ideal. By playing an off angle that the enemies do not expect, he increases the chances of getting first kill, and putting himself in at worst, a 1v1 situation. Although Omen could have played safer as you mentioned, playing the off angle CT for a 1v1 while holding an OP definitely maximizes their chances of winning. Though it was unfortunate that he missed, and definitely a misplay to re-swing the Reyna.

  • @_veikkomies
    @_veikkomies Před 2 lety +5

    Decent video in general. However, the almost categorical assertion that you shouldn't play off-angles with an OP is kind of weird. It's very situational. For example, if you happen to be somewhat close range and waiting for an enemy to push you, an off-angle is a good idea and might even make the shot easier to hit. Another situation might be a standard angle which OPers very commonly hold that might be prefired often, giving you a harder time.
    Also, I feel like your characterization of off-angles as "in the open", especially with the example of A site on bind, is not accurate. That's not really an off-angle people play a lot unless there happens to be a lot of utility in short or sth. A lot of off-angles are pretty much next to standard angles. For example, the angle at 1:24. An effective off-angle might be just a few steps to the left such that when people push short the might be looking at site or preaiming the door but you're in between and can catch them off guard.
    Finally, you're not really teaching how to hold an angle. You're more so introducing the concept of standard and off-angles and a tiny bit of when to use them.
    With that said, the video was well made and well structured with a good combo of explanation and visual aid.

    • @AirenYT
      @AirenYT  Před 2 lety +8

      Wow I appreciate the long comment haha. The great thing about Valorant is that it's not black and white. There are no rules that apply to every situation, so any "rules" should be treated as just guidelines. With that being said, I would say that while there are times where it's good to play in an off angle with an op, (assuming you're not jett/chamber), the chances of you whiffing your op shot is significantly higher than you getting prefired 1 tapped, which is why I give the advice that I did!
      And I did describe off-angles as "out in the open", but I defined off-angles as "angles that are away from cover". You're definitely right that the angle short (which is just a few steps away from a standard angle) IS an off-angle. People won't be preaimed there (the surprise factor) but since they're also out in the open, they're easily traded (the risk factor). I think we're on the same page!
      You're right about the title. This video was a weird combination of a lot of tips, so I wasn't sure what to name it haha.
      I appreciate you taking the time to write this feedback! I'm always trying to improve my content so be on the lookout for that :)

    Hard disagree. Taking the off angle vs Reyna gave him unpredictability, and if you watch closely, he switches from standard angle to off angle because he heard the tp. He needs cover against the incoming Jett. I think it’s a great that he doesn’t hesitate for a play like that, just unlucky with the shot.
