    Isoline maps are made up of lines that join points of equal value. This video shows you how to understand and read weather maps.

    By the way, the map at 4:11 is confusing. It is showing high altitude winds, when it should be showing low altitude winds, which would be pointing in the opposite direction.

    High and low pressure, is defined by the relative air pressure surrounding the area. Not an average pressure. If it's 1001 hPa and the surrounding pressure is less, then it's still a high pressure

    Research:
    Provide definitions for the following in your own words (and include the symbol if necessary):
    -What is a weather map/chart?A map showing what the weather and climate will be like and is currently
    - Define high systems High pressure systems are systems where the closer to the centre of an area you get the higher the pressure is which can cause no winds and dry weather with no clouds.
    - Define low systems Low pressure systems are areas where the pressure gets lower towards the centre which causes wind and rain with large clouds.
    - What is a front? (Provide information on all aspects of a front) Fronts are advances of different air types which collide with each other to change climate. An advancing cold front may push warm air up to produce slight rain. If a warm and cold front combine/collide this may cause a cyclone.
    - What is the relationship between isobars and wind? Isobars explain the wind changes
    - Wind speed and direction The isobars tell you how fast wind is going
    - Air pressure Air pressure is how heavy or pressurised the air is. The normal amount of millibars is 1032 higher than this means there is high pressure an vice versa for lower pressures.
    - Temperature Temperature is how hot or cold the climate is in that area.

    You say that northward winds are deflected to the right in the northern hemisphere. But how can that result in counterclockwise cyclonic flow? It would be clockwise if they’re being deflected to the right.

    • @stephensnell5707
      @stephensnell5707 Před 10 měsíci

      Well you are incorrect,it DOES result in Low Pressure systems having counter-clockwise wind flow in the Northern Hemisphere and the exact opposite in the Southern Hemisphere

    • @stephensnell5707
      @stephensnell5707 Před 10 měsíci

      Northern Hemisphere-
      High Pressure-Winds rotate clockwise
      Low Pressure-Winds rotate counter-clockwise
      Southern Hemisphere-
      High Pressure-Winds flow counter-clockwise
      Low Pressure-Winds flow clockwise
