Sweet car I love the late 70 C body New yorkers my Uncle had a 78 it was white on white with soft leather seats it was a 4 door and it had the 440 and that car just floated down the road it was like you were sitting on a cloud and you could drive it for hours without being uncomfortable. It was a great car. Yours is nice but not a fan of the painted road wheels I don't know why someone would paint them that color but I am not a fan at all but I love the Chrysler Road wheels my uncles car had them also.
That one box in the truck you said you did not know what it was is the lean burn computer they had on them cars in the 70's it was to make the engine run leaner and hotter to burn all the fuel for emissions but many people took them off and ran a standard Electronic ignition instead and that's what yours has been changed over that box would sit on your air cleaner but being under the hood with hot and cold and moisture the computer was not liking it and many of them would fail that distributor and carb in the trunk is all part of the lean burn system and why it is in the trunk because they took it all off and replaced it with the standard ignition system.
400 are good engines too it's the B series big block it is based on the 383 but they bored it out to make it a 400 the 440 is a "RB" big block RB stands for Raised Block it has a longer stroke anyway the 400 has the biggest bore out of all the B and RB engines including the 440 but it has a shorter stroke.
That’s quite a project car. Looks like fun!
nice presentation... !
I worked on big Chryslers in the 1980's when I lived in Canada, 318,360,400 + 440 Land Yachts.
from classic Fiat 500 to this, you have come a long long way sir...😂
Ahah thank you, it definitly takes longer to walk around the New yorker

Don't mind those facebook groups. Americans don't like seeing these cars turned into hot rods. The red wheels are cool IMO
Be careful with rust under the Vinyl top too they like to rot under the vinyl and will rot a hole right through the roof
Yh I'm gonna take some of the interior trim out and see what we can find
