      Hey, user! Thanks for the comment! Have you considered checking out the HOTO Compressed Air Capsule? It's a compact and versatile cleaning tool that can help you maintain a spotless environment on your desk, in your car, and more. With powerful vacuuming and blowing capabilities, it's definitely worth considering! Let me know if you have any other questions or need further recommendations. Happy tech-talking!

    I just bought my first nicer keyboard, a Corsair k100, and it got me thinking that I might like to build a custom unit soon. But I'm not so sure. I'll hold off for a while. This Corsair is a massive upgrade from my last one, and I like it a lot. I am not sure I have the patience to mod or build a board. Especially with all the options for switches and key caps and mods and lubing and stabilizers. For now I'll call it a little overwhelming. But this video was great and I thank you for showing the process and the differences as you made small changes step by step.

    Since I’m listening with headphones at full blast, I can hear ping especially on the right cluster above arrows. I was just wondering if this is noticeable irl/in person? Often times mics pick up subtle nuances/details in sound tests that get drowned out in person. Sound tests are often times boosted as well. Additionally, this is the only sound test w tape mod, different foam/damper material than stock, and some material near the screw holes in between the two case halves that I have heard ping. So I am just thinking that it’s the recording setup/settings and that the ping is barely noticeable, if at all, in person. Lastly, have you ever tried polyfill as a damper?

  • @ffffff1-mmmm
    @ffffff1-mmmm Před 2 lety +1

    The additional mods do a great job, but from my experience a third layer of PCB tape removes pretty much all audible pinging even without changing the case foam. It could also just be that my switches being different affect the sound as well.

    Hello! This might be a bit late but had a question about the mod. Just bought the Q1 pro and was wondering if you think the tape mod still works on this even though there is a battery in it? I am thinking of getting non-conductive tape for that reason. Also, when doing the tape mod, do you remove the case foam that goes between PCB?

    • @ayewhaddupdoe
      @ayewhaddupdoe Před rokem

      They don't filter anything. They just shorten the sustain of the batter head of the drum, so the often ugly resonance disappears. Kind of chokes out the head after the initial transient.

    i think for the Q1 the polyfill mod is the best for dampening the sound.
    Once i tried it literally all the ping was gone, and it doesn't remove too much of the flex either. I also switched the stock plate out for a PC plate so that probably helped with the resonacne too. Super happy with the Q1, might even buy a second one just to do a boba U4T build

    Can someone please explain what he is doing? I'm interested in this modding of keyboards but I don't hear any difference on the sounds.
