    Thanks for this chronological description. The sound of burning woods, rain and sirens makes it so realistic, as well as silent scenes. Unfortunately, statistics changed. We have been there and remember every time segment , so devastating... Our cabin vanished.... but we are so glad Gatlinburg is standing! Let's make Smokey Mountains great again!

    Inconvenient facts,
    A few months ago developers, investors and planners came to the area. They were summoned to Gatlinburg because the area is loosing alot of tourism revenue to nearby Pigeon forge.
    The purpose of inviting these people in was to redevelop the parts of Gatlinburg that where old and outdated,Including many of the old abandoned hotels on Ski Mnt rd and hwy 321.
    I think it is a strange coincidence that the majority of what burned where the previously mentioned areas.
    I have been a resident of the area for 12 years. In that time I have noticed many fires that have mysteriously ended up benefiting the property owner in a significant way.

      I am in Gatlinburg as I write this. Look into directed energy weapons, very similar to the recent California fires

    I was up there last week. Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge both look like they have recovered from the fires effects

    I was there. Fought in those fires on the 28th and 29th. Spent 24 hours in the IDLH Zone. It is unreal what was seen and felt while fighting those fires.

    Yep i remember i lived in tennesse and went through those fires ot was a sight no one wants to see. Its like a war zone at night. We had to get out. And as we passed sections of fire it got even worse. I lost my best friend that night her name was Chloe Reed i miss her so much.

    Yeah, their were several fires in the weeks leading up to the big one. Shit was pretty intense, Gatlinburg looked like Silent Hill with all the smoke. I live nearby, some friends were evacuated.

      Harrison - while the fire could have happened by other means, the fact is those two young men were at fault because they thought it funny to flip lit matches on the trail

    • @tonyboggs4485
      @tonyboggs4485 Před 7 lety +1

      well the fact of the matter is they were told about the high winds that were coming and did nothing.and if you go to google map and look how far chimney top is from there you will see what iam saying, yes it was wrong for the kids but to blame them for the deaths of others no i can't see that iam sorry.

    • @iamtheirnana
      @iamtheirnana Před 7 lety

      For the fires, yes. The young men had no way of knowing the extent of their actions. Sad all the way around.

    This would be better as a stills slide show... looks like some great shots are turned artifacty by poor youtube compression (assuming it's not cell phone images... which always look that way). Overuse of fade to black and short dwell on some shots makes the presentation disjointed (screen is dark nearly as much as it's showing something in spots)... was disruptive enough to viewing that I couldn't get past 3 minutes (where there's a long line of short flashing images popping through). Looks like potentially good source material - needs some editing tweaks.
