When it comes to worshiping Jesus, the Bible does better than telling us to worship Jesus; it shows us.
There are many instances recorded in the Bible of Jesus accepting worship from people. Even when Jesus was a baby, the Magi from the East worshiped him (Matthew 2). After Jesus calmed a storm out on the Sea of Galilee, the disciples worshiped him (Matthew 14:33). When Jesus healed a blind man, that man also worshiped him (John 9:35). If Jesus were not God, it would be blasphemous to worship him in such a way. But in no instance did Jesus ever reprimand anyone for worshiping him. All of these were depicted as righteous and proper acts. This stands in sharp contrast to angels in the Bible, who always refuse worship (Revelation 22:9).
The Bible doesn't need to tell us outright, "Worship Jesus!" It shows us the good example of others doing so and challenges us to respond the same.

Bob is being uncharacteristically disparaging at 18:50 when he accuses Catholics of practising “factory confession”. Has he been in the confessional with “lots of Catholics”? I suspect not. Catholics are required to prayerfully examine their conscience before going into the confessional. A good priest will help them further with that examination before giving absolution on the agreement that the penitent will try to sin no more (usually an Act of Contrition prayer) and the carrying out of penance.
It can get that way though, due to time constraints and tiredness in the confessional box, like being told rather summarily to do "3 hail marys" after someone has confessed some sin. That is humans can definitely fall rather short.
@@collybever When John was baptising in Mark 1:5, all of ‘Judea and Jerusalem’ were ‘confessing their sins’ without being assigned a specific penance (expiation/satisfaction). Nonetheless, despite having the appearance of a ‘factory’ (as Bob describes Catholic confessions) they were cleansed of their sins by the power and authority given to John. Even if a priest assigned no specific penance or a relatively ‘easy’ penance, the penitent would still have to sincerely repent and return to God in order to complete the absolution.

For those who question the authority of a priest to absolve sins; AFTER Jesus had died on the cross and had risen from the dead, He said to the disciples. “If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you withhold forgiveness from any, it is withheld.” (John 20:23) Remember this was AFTER He had suffered and died paying the price for our sins (ie, death - Romans 6:23). Jesus says we will need ongoing forgiveness and gave that power to his disciples so how can any Christian disagree?
Can that approach not be pushed too far ? Consider Magda Goebbels, externally pious, doing all the right rites, but it is somewhat dubious that she had a real faith, as she remained a fanatical nazi to the end, approving of the Fuehrer's terrible deeds. She needed to genuinely repent - of course I would wish she was in heaven, but doubt it, and all the rites of confession would have been worthless. Or in Russia, the current president, probably goes through the equivalent rites, but he needs to repent, the rites won't work as things stand, he needs to repent before it is too late for him.

Can someone explain to me why I need a priest to confess my sins. Didn't Jesus died so that I can have that personal relationship with him? Isn't Jesus the bridge between us and the father so why do I need any priest to hear my confession then acknowledge my sins are forgiven?
