  • The plaintiff says she began visiting the defendant in 2019 to get her nails done. While she agrees the defendant is good at her trade, she’s suing because the defendant breached a contract after the plaintiff paid her to take a nail class from her. The defendant says she’s been in the nail business for 27 years and denies owing anything. She’s countersuing for slander and harassment.

    I commend the plaintiff. She was prepared, respectful and I’m so glad she won. Judge Mathis picked a side from the start of the case and fortunately the plaintiffs evidence got her the win. The defendant needs to save that “I used to be a scammer” story bc she still is smh

      That's the point he wanted to see if the plaintiffs had all of her ducks in a row. Alot of times with the plaintiffs a judge will somewhat test them to see if they have all the evidence they need for court. This plaintiff did great.

      In her defense in this one matter as a person with education in education of cosmetology. Anyone can teach about certain methods with certain professional certifications. But they cannot tell people that their hours will help them obtain license or even school credit hours. They can't advise anyone to perform the methods taught in class professionally. The only problem the ex con had was she tried to con someone who wanted the things she couldn't perform and took her money..... She still has some rehabilitation to do.

    When the defendant first opened her mouth, I knew she still had street mentality. She still conducting dirty business in a perfectly legitimate business. She know she is not supposed to be giving classes for that kind of money if she cant issue credit to the students. Her ego told her that she was all of that and people would foolishly pay which they did. Doing nails is an art, as long as you understand the hygienic aspects, the rest is strictly art. She was trying to sell her art but her students cant get credit for her art.

    Always do your due diligence when it comes to classes! Anybody can hold a class- it’s your job to ask(research) their accreditation. I’m happy the nail tech is doing better in life however she knew she was wrong for this 🤦🏽‍♀️

    Plaintiff is gonna be a great nail tech, she’s honest, pleasant and polite 💅🏼Judge Mathis did nothing but hype up the defendant 🙄🙄15 minutes in he was still yelling at the plaintiff about something he didn’t hear 👂…props to her for not getting flustered and presenting her case to get her judgement! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

    I'm a little disgusted with Mathis's behavior in this one. he was so taken with the defendant's story that he was ignoring actual problems. The whole thing about "no contact" sounded like he was trying to trick the plaintiff into some weird semantics game. Defendant was a crook, plain and simple.

    I’m so glad the plaintiff was calm and composed. If she wasn’t, Judge would’ve used that to make her lose her case. He really wanted the scammer to win. All the stuttering she was doing at the end lol.

    Judge Mathis seemed to be trying to catch the plaintiff in a lie that was clearly not there. He was very rude to her for no reason at all. As soon as the defendant told her story he chose a side. GLAD PLAINTIFF WON!

    Why didn’t the judge ask her why she was trying hold classes that she was not certified to teach?? Judge Mathis can be very biased at times. All that tude he was giving the plaintiff should have been directed towards that scam artist. You could tell the defendant was lying🙄

    Judge Mathis is annoying. The plaintiff JUST SAID, “I was giving her time to get her instructor’s license.” She praised the woman and really wanted to work with her. She was being patient. Judge Mathis was wooed by her con story and automatically picked the defendant’s side.
