Taiji Bang - Basic ecxercises

  • Taiji Bang is a simple tool that allows you to strenghten your grasping techniques and focus on spiral training. At the beginning it also makes sense to train some excercises similar to silk reeling to get use with the Bang. It is said that most of the exercises i'm showing in this short video were developed by Chen Fake.

    Had to join to thank you. This is the best Bang video I've seen on You Tube. I notice your movements are soft and supple as are your wrists hands and forearms. The whole body really, There seems to be a kind of power there like relaxed octopus limbs. I think it's informed by the hardness of the Bang, a soft/hard contrast difficult to achieve. In your form the Bang would seem to lend itself to building that form of strength we seek in TC.
    I've just started to pay attention to the Bang and gathering information.
    The music adds to the video. The tempo of movement is beautiful. Would love to see a further exploration.

      Sorry, i didn't check the comments recently. Thanks for your comment. I made the video a while ago. The main idea is to generate the power from the body centre, some would say Dantian. Once, the body understands you can spiral the energy from there to everywhere. The Bang helps you to reach the coordination. It's also a kind of conditioning. A really good tool.

    Nice workout! A longer bang would suit better for your size, as long as your forearm, I think.

      Sorry, wasn't here for a while. For the breathing: In general if you circle upwards inhale, downwards exhale. If you pull the Bang to your body inhale, if you are pushing forward exhale. I hope that helps.
