    Thank you, i have never had to use the high speed counter function until now and your explanation is very clear . I want to use a pulse counter on my fx3u to make sure that water is flowing correctly from a pump via a hall effect flow sensor and your demonstration looks like it may work.

      It is data register to hold the encoder value ... high speed counter will save the encoder value in this data register D0
