I started watching your videos because I had no clue on how to play craps. It always intimidated me so I just avoided it all together. However, I decided to finally sit down, learn the basics and found your videos. Your videos made it real simple to understand and I gained a lot of confidence when playing this game. I downloaded a decent electronic game to practice on and gained a little more confidence. I finally decided to go play for real and went with a conservative strategy at first till I built a little "play money". I went in with $300 and came out with $645 ($345 gain) after a few hours. There were highs and lows and a lot of on hands learning. Overall I had a lot of fun and I think I have a new favorite game to play at the casino now. Thank you!

Wonderfully presented. You clearly state exactically the truth about the enticing FIELD bet. When I was 21 years old at Harolds Club Reno Nevada in 1965 on the Dime Minimum Table, I bet a dime in the field on each roll, doubling up after each loss. Once my progression had pushed me up from a dime to a $6 bet. A twelve rolled and I won $18. When the night was over I'd won $40.

I rarely play craps, but when I do, I table max bet the field for 1 roll of the dice. Win or lose, I’m finished with the craps table at that point. It has covered my blackjack/slot machine losses toooo many times for me to remember 🤑 The craps dealers at my local indian casino know me at this point (I’m easily distinguishable when you see my beard 😂) plus they know my tactic. When they see me walk up and one of their craps regs is playing, I can hear them telling the reg “Oh here comes this guy. Watch what he’s going to do”. They aren’t really trash talking, as they are always rooting for me and celebrate when I hit. I seem to be pretty lucky when it comes to hitting 2s and 12s, but they only pay 2-1 there. But thanks for your video! It made me feel less stupid about playing the field, because most regs there never do 🤪

And of course it's because you are only playing $1 at a time on the Any Craps bet compared to $5 a roll on the Field Bet. As always, Color Up, you've got us thinking of the best way to play Craps. Yeah, But People control the Dice! 🎲🎲 Not perfectly but Dice Setters have an influence on the Rolls and some can roll 40 to 50 times until a 7 rolls out! And betters can make money on those long streaks!
The Casinos can’t do anything about it unless they change the rules and stop individuals from throwing the Dice. 🎲🎲
I have Zero sympathy for the Casinos. They have No qualms about taking your money so when they lose, they have to pay 💰 out and take their lumps. They can take it out of their millions in profits. They still come out way ahead otherwise they’d shutdown. Wouldn’t they?
They piss me off when they refuse to pay. They make up some ridiculous excuses. Like the Slot machine was malfunctioning. That’s not my problem! If it says I won said amount, then I won it! They must Pay up!

I have a theory on the field if you normally play the 6 and 8. If you play the pass line once a point is established you cover the pass line 5,6,8 and field. You now have every number covered except 7 of course. Also winning double with 2 and triple with 12 I think making it worth it. A lot better bet if the point is a 5,6 or 8 now you already have it covered on the pass line

I wish I could get people to stop basing their strategies around the concept of "House Edge."
Just pay attention to your odds.
There are 36 dice combinations. So your odds of winning will be somewhere between 1/36 to 36/36. That's it!
If your odds of winning on the next roll are ever 18/36, then you're playing a perfectly fair game with a 50% chance to win/lose. If you can tip the odds to 19/36, or better, then the odds are in your favor.
    Keep it simple.
"House Edge" was never meant to be used by players. It's a metric used by casinos to estimate their expected profit over the long term.

      @samueleuresti3 Před 4 lety +3

@@marknoble5495 You're right. But that becomes less of a worry, when you can fix the odds 90% in your favor.
      Example:
If you play $64 Across + $5 Field, you have slightly better than an 83% chance to win.
Statistically, you should win at least 8 out of 10 rolls. This is great, because you only need 5 hits to break even. And that leaves 3 rolls available for profits. 😀
Of course, that's assuming that the 7 doesn't come up first. 🤪

I never bet on the Field Bet alone. But I do combine it with the 5,6, and 8 so I have the Iron Cross working. This more often than not works out in my advantage, seeing as how there's only 1 number which can hurt me, the 7. Only thing I do not like about the Iron Cross is that when a 5, 6, or 8 rolls, you win on the Place Bet, but lose on the Field. Pretty frustrating when you're making only a buck or so when the middle numbers keep popping up. Meanwhile, you know that 7 is gonna pop up sooner or later. Every roll is random. The previous numberd do not affect the next roll. You can have 20 non-field number, but the chances of field number coming out next will not change. Blackjack is different. On a single deck game, if you saw four aces came out, no one at the table will get a blackjack during the net round. The card dealt affect the odds of the next round. On craps, each roll is independant. Your system may yield short term gain, but if you try it ling enough, you probably will loose.

I like the field. I bet the pass line minimum I cover my six and eight after the point is established and I put one minimum bet in the field. If it wins I'll cover the five and nine and then just sit back and collect until my money is right and my bets are paid for. Then, I'll drop my profit as odds on the past line three for every one. After that I will literally just let my bets come down as they hit unless a specific number keeps coming up and sometimes I'll press that number if I've taken down a few and I'm up. I just started playing but it was easy enough to catch on. If my initial field bet loses, I will collect my first six or eight or point, and then make another field bet with my next to try and cover the five and nine. If my third attempt at the field loses I'll take my bets down and just wait for point

I heard some of the dealers talking about this big shot American - On my next bet I said: "Put $20 on 12 - IT'S a Boat time that hits" LOL - you should have seen their faces: then they all walk away thinking I was just a lucky Canadian. You basically hit it right on the head the whole principle behind my strategy. I hedge my field bet with place bets on the 5,6,8 to eliminate them as losing numbers. Best part IMO is that if the field hits, you dont lose the place bets so anything you wager on the 5,6,8 are not at risk and if you bet one unit more on the place than on the field, you'll earn more money than you lose. If you got good shooters you can basically get a steady drip feed of chips from the table and only lose when they seven out. So unless you are at a cold point-7 table (in which case you'd walk away) you always earn a profit. So the field bet is a sucker bet by itself, but if you combine it with other bets, it's actually pretty good.

I can/would gladly give the casino 100 p\hr if I can make $120-200. The long term math works both ways and as long as your disciplined and have flexibility in your bank roll, you can make decent part time money over 25+ years gaming

But there has yet for anyone to be a professional dice player, where as there are obviously plenty that are professional investors.

At some point during every visit to Vegas, I'll place $25 on a field bet and try to win four times in a row, just for the fun of it. I've never won four in a row, because I always chicken out if I get to three wins: $200 ($175, actually). And have only had that happen twice. Also, I was playing at a $10 table at the Nugget one time when a woman walked up with a wad of $100s, threw the money into the field and yelled "field bet." All play was stopped while the dealers exchanged for chips -- $6,700. Then the roll... and we know what happened next. Rolled a 6.

Faster decision means win or loss sooner. 100 decisions on the 4/9 (at $5) is still an expected $20 loss. It just may take you longer to get there. So if your goal is to watch ppl roll the dice for as long a possible, then field bet is not the way to go. Just don't bet at all and the cost per hour is $0

If my 50 dollar hard 6 bet yields me a net profit return over my game time play why do I care what the casino keeps? So far I'm a net positive craps player and I bet the biggest odds on the table. And box numbers. But so many ppl are hung up on how much the house keeps. What am I missing? Why do people feel robbed of the house edge is a high percentage? If I walk up to a table with 500 and walk away with 2,000 I don't really care what I got taxed to play the game.
