Hey all, I wanted to reach out and say THANK YOU all for your support up to this point. It means the world for me. I have a full proximal tear so I have to decide if I'm going to go through with surgery again/when/what the recovery looks like. In that time I will be recovering mentally and physically as best I can. I also have a bunch of BIG new things coming out which I will announce when I come back from this break. My team and I have been going non-stop for a long time so a nice break is needed to us to deliver the best content to all of YOU. Once again thank you, and I WILL BE BACK!

Def get the surgery again. I know it sucks but its best to have an intact tendon. You just gotta give a year before you do anything crazy, the ligament/tendon healing time is unfortunately slow.

For the past year it seems as soon as I’m healthy again a new or old injury has to show up. I feel like I haven’t been at a true 100% since last june. It’s extremely frustrating and caused me a great deal of emotional and mental pain in addition to physical, so I feel your pain. When I was rehabbing, or trying to work on technique, or looking for new workouts, you’re channel was one of the ones I discovered, and you’re videos have been extremely useful ever since. I hope you have a speedy recovery and come back stronger than ever!

So sorry to hear about your injury.
Went down the same road as you.
Tore my distal bicep and got it repaired- 6 months to get back.
Tore my proximal bicep - on atlas stones also. Surgeon said it didn't need to be repaired, wouldn't lose strength like on a distal tear, had a nice bicep peak.
And honestly I wish I did repair it, it's never been the same, cramps and balls up, have had a few more micro tears on the arm, stability is off.
My best advice would be to get it repaired. I wish I didn't listen to my ortho on not fixing it.
Hang in there, it takes time, but you'll recover from it

It’s a hard pill to swallow, mentally, knowing you have to go through the surgery and recovery process again. Something similar happened to me last year. I had my labrum reattached and rotator cuff repaired on the right shoulder and 4 months later I discovered another rotator tear in my left shoulder I wasn’t aware of and needed surgery again! This is also after having carpal tunnel release surgury on both hands at the beginning of 2021…so 4 surgeries altogether last year for me. It really can take you to a bad place, but if you can find a silver lining for yourself it may help. Mine was “the opportunity” to develop my lower body. I spent most of ’21 doing legs 3-5 workouts/week and added about 2 inches to my thighs! Sled drags were my almost daily friend, lol! Maybe you’ll be the next Tom Platz after that bicep finally heals!

I'm sure this is one of those times where nothing anyone says is of much consolation, even though it's greatly appreciated. When my wife was hospitalized after my first child was born, I was lost. Everyone assured me it would get better, but damn hearing that never helped. Im sure you feel like no one understands what is going on in your head, just like others in their own trials. But after getting through all that, I realized what everyone told me - thst tough times don't last but tough people do - was 100% right even if it wasn't consoling. You'll get through this and comeback, no matter how difficult it may feel right now. Praying for you man. Ave Maria.

Love the channel and content! I recently tore/pull/strained a hip flexor after sumo deadlifting, on an SBD day, with little sleep and no recovery. Bad idea. Currently can’t walk standing straight and stand straight for that matter. Hip/groin is uncomfortable all the time, and sleeping sucks. Now that I walk hunched over it’s effecting my lowback now. Really really sucks. Gym is my life. MY ENTIRE life , I don’t care what anyone says I love working out more than anything. Really reconsidering powerlifting, and what I’ll do next if I ever even do recover or go ‘back to normal’ . I love the honesty in the video and realness, it’s so relatable when people showcase experiences like this. Yes it’s really unfortunate like my experience... but still , I’m hoping a FAST FAST recovery from you, and hoping I get back into lifting as soon as possible. I'm just a nobody in the strength game but I want to tell you this. If you want, you can still be very fullfilled with strength training and putting up big numbers. Just be mindful about what your weakness is in your body (at the moment biceps) and find things to get around the structural weakness. All of my joints are more or less arthritic and my left knee is the worst. I was told that according to my x-rays I shouldn't be able to get up a flight of stairs. Last year I was able to box squat 200kg alowly and with great control, which is the only way I can squat bigger weights. The way I finally got it after years of failure was accepting my limitations but not giving in to them. Just do you man, listen to your body and you will be great again

  • @faithfitnessandfatherhood

I hate to hear that. I had a full distal rupture about a year ago and it's been mentally challenging just to feel comfortable with certain lifts for me. However, sometimes I forget about the injury and thought I tore it again last night grabbing a basketball rim. I'm 43, and absolutely love fitness...so trying to tell myself to keep the weight manageable and focus on overall health at this point in my life. I understand that I could really get injured at any point, but want to be smart about how I train. Those injuries are hard, both mentally and recovery wise! Keep up the positive attitude and use your time off to refocus!

Big fan. Sorry about the injuries. As a former pro ball player I can sympathize with the injuries. They get us all sooner or later. Good luck with the rehab and come back stronger and motivated. Respect!

I am sorry to hear about your injury and I hope you are able to heal up and come back and do whatever you decide is best. A break is definitely warranted and I hope you get everything out of it that you need. Your videos have been really useful for me learning strongman and I very much appreciate them.

Take stock of what you have, be greatful for everything, you’ll get through this.
My mom is in her 70’s and just broke her hip, she had surgery, my dad and her as pensioners are going through hell, but they aren’t giving up, taking it one day at a time.
I lost my job last November because of the Covid madness. The government so far is refusing to pay out my employment insurance that I am supposed to be entitled to as a Canadian citizen. The company I worked for has mocked my legal attempts to get compensation.
My wife is pregnant with our first child and I am still looking for work.
Life is hard man, keep pushing forward. Never give up. Even when the world turns against you. You’ll be fine 👍👊💪

I’m in a similar boat minus the tear. Uncontrollable stressors in my life are weighing on me, and my body and mind isn’t primed for the gym or weights right now. It’s beat, and tired. Just eating as much as I can since my appetite isn’t that great now as a result.
I’ve watched a lot of your content and you’ve helped a ton. The work you put in isn’t for vain

Keep your head up. Life has really affected my training as well. I just did a show a few weeks ago and got dead last in a class I should have won. I had sciatica, partially torn tricep, and family issues during my peak. It'll get better.

I started doing strongman in September of last year. No trainer. No equipment. Bought what I use myself. I literally had to teach myself how to do events from CZcams. Your videos have helped tremendously and have entertained immensely. I am such a huge fan, can’t wait to see what you do next. At the same time, pretty sure we all totally understand and respect the route of making this about you. Get well and come back better. Shoveling good thoughts your direction.
