Nice intro! The problem with Tidal is that they remaster all the songs in their library, the highs get a little gain and so does the bass. They do this so people think the audio quality is better and they will keep paying for it. Most people associate more highs with better sound quality. You should try Deezer Hifi or Qobuz
I can confirm this, I just did an A-B test with Amazon music HD and comparing to a CD track I own. I knew something was off with Tidal. I thought I was the only person who can tell the difference
they actually do that? I heard that on the free trail and hated it. My speakers already sound a little bright and only tidal pushes them to being harsh sometimes.
Very interesting. If they are doing this it’s not likely remastering though, they possibly apply an inverted EQ to their output. Sneaky but not surprising.
can someone tell me if with spotify he has noticed a lowering of the maximum volume of the songs? I often find myself with the maximum volume of my audio pro t5 to be able to fill the room but before I could have the same effect with a lower volume level.
Nice comparison. Just signed up for Tidal and giving it a test run against other streaming music services. So far, can tell it’s a step up from the rest and like the high bit rate Master quality.
Zhalgas Zhumakan you just have to try with a screwdriver I made a gap between the enclosure and the cover and then put a screw in between to keep it from going back It is quite a process so I would try it if you really need to remove the grill
I thought the bass on the Apple Music was somewhat stronger than the tidal sample. I used to have tidal and because of the virus and being laid off from my job, had to cut some costs. I therefore ditched tidal for Apple Music. I’m finding that I’m not missing it! Thanks for the comparison video!
I use Chrome audio and there’s definitely a difference. I wouldn’t say it’s a huge difference but Tidal is definitely a cleaner sound. Is it worth it for a casual user, I would say no. For me it’s a no brainer because I get my military discount. If you have a great set of headphones and listen to the “Master Quality” on Tidal it’s a great experience.
Hugaida it starts to distort early already and just sounded weird to me Not balanced, uncontrolled bass etc. For that price I’d get a little stereo set up
Tidal sounded more detailed to me, but the difference isn’t that big. Perhaps the sound heard directly from the KEF’s reveals a bit more than a youtube video can.
I find Spotify better as it also has a great 5 EQ rather than just Apples presets . Spotify also supports continuous gapless playback which is also fun . 🎶🎵
why not try john coltrane Blue Train album. there is master version provided by tidal. that is the music showing difference between hires stream service and normal one
Who thumbs down? I am the 1st person to thumbs down on certain peoples video content, but this?🤔🤔🤔 keep up the great content!👍👏🤗😎🤫 by the way I thought, A was a little more Boomy/Bassy but not sure in a good way or not? B seems like it’s missing the Bass extension from A?🤫🤔🤫🤔🤫🤫😁
Big Jay I don’t know There are always people who seriously think that youtube audio is too bad for a comparison like this They probably don’t even listen to the video correctly haha
Source quality is judged by your ears on every listening session, especially with a pair of headphones like Sennheiser HD600, not by brand or one source, you need to listen more different sources, occasionally you will even hear a "different" mastering version, which you may keep despite there is a more high quality version, I even can said that I sometimes prefer CZcams audio vs said a download lossless flac version, it really depend based on your ears critical judgement, no perfect source really.
bluetooth have small bandwidth. You loose quality sending music from iPhone to receiver by bluetooth. You must use a system that can use wi-fi connection or cable and can receive signal directly from the internet. Even so my ears told me that B had better sound quality :D
There is no way it could sound better, just different. You see, iphone compresses sound to AAC 256kbit/sec when sending over bluetooth (it's the best case, because if bt-connection is weak the compression can be stronger). And Apple music streaming is also AAC 256kbit/sec. So Toni either didn't check "maximum quality" option in Apple music's settings, either all the difference is in our imagination.
Nice comparison. I use paid Tunein, classic fm and classic manager. All with high bitrates. Mostly with headphones... Critical listening. I don't use Spotify, apple or Tidal.
I don’t know what amp/receiver you use, but there are so many good receivers from companies like Naim that support AirPlay 2. AirPlay 1 was closed ecosystem, but AirPlay 2 is open to hi-fi companies and it is lossless. Surprised you don’t have a AirPlay 2 receiver considering you use Apple Music and have such amazing Speakers. Just a suggestion. Thank you
THESOUNDIZER AV yea, it’ll certainly sound better than Bluetooth but the amps you named unfortunately aren’t really what I’m looking for But maybe there’s a pre amp out there that I can use that has AirPlay 2 The lsx isn’t really a good example, you can hear how they sound in my video...
Spotify uses a higher bitrate than apple. So I would assume Apple would be the worst, second Spotify and best tidal in terms of quality. But the playlists on Spotify is what makes it hand down the best in my opinion.
@@japkoslav there is some guy who tested by actually recording the same track off each service and seeing what frequency were missing. I think from memory Apple music and CZcams music were the worst by alot. Then Spotify was second and tidal first.
I wrote this text as I was watching video. Hmmm comparison of music quality on CZcams? Soundcloud links for sources would be much more appreciated than a compressed crap CZcams turns any attempt into. + I am using the iPhone? Really? No LDAC? Just crap AAC? O.o Come on man! I don't want to offend you, but this is beyond useless and it's missleading as hell.
Joe Black if it’s this misleading why can you still hear a difference? I hate when people blame everything on some CZcams compression It’s definitely there but not to a degree where it removes all details of the recording What do you use for listening to this video?
@@speakertoni2680 Soundblaste X7 LE -> Fostex TH900. There is not only CZcams compression, BUT there is a even bigger compression, when you are using iPhone that only supports AAC or SBC. @@speakertoni2680 It's irrelevant what I use. What was my point: You are comparing Tidal vs. Apple, yet you destroy Tidal quality to oblivion and then trying to come with some conclusion? Tidal via BT is only viable when you have a device (and reciver ofc) that is capable of transfering signal via AptX HD or even better LDAC codec. + I don't really belive people take their KEF outside normaly ;)
