I liked the cook. He's a straightforward guy.
Yes you are right
But he wasn't French.

he's nto french?

The problem for me isn't the speed at which they speak (although it does seem a bit fast because I'm a beginner) but the problem is that all the words seem to flow into one another. The whole sentence can sound like one word and it's difficult to distinguish individual words and find meaning. I've been studying German and Spanish and neither of those languages seems to have that problem for. Spanish flows a lot more than German for sure, but French does it at much more difficult to understand level.
and on the streets, there are a lot of code words, if you will, for things you learn formally. Like take the word things. You learn it as choses. But in spoken french people say "truc" for example, il y a plein de truc instead of il y a plein de choses.
I had a problem wich was similar to that one when I was learning english, the words in the sentences seemed to be a bit mixed up and the native speakers semmed to speak way faster than I could understand. I think this depens on you getting used to the language.
If you are only just learning, check out the "super easy french" videos, where the man speaks slowly
It is called liaison, words are related one another and unpronounced syllables are sometimes pronounced when a vowel comes after... this is probably confusing for you.
Arabic does it similarly and worse. It does take a while to get used to but eventually you'll be able to hear when a word ends
"everything is a cliche" says the short-haired brunette scarf wearing Parisian smoking a cigarette in a laneway.

I remember watching this about a year ago when I started learning French, and now coming back about a year later I'm understanding a hell of a lot more than I thought I would. Fucking cool.
You motivate me... I'm starting today.. csn you guide me how did you come up understanding french this much just in a year?
Up plaise
It's crazy, me too, after 6 months I can understand almost everything with a little help of the french subtitles and it used to sound impossible for me back then.
It's way harder than Italian though, after 6 months I was already listening to hours and hours of podcasts with no problem...
@@azstyles940 I tried Bussu premium (only like 10 dollars a month) for 6 months toghether with this videos. An hour a day aprox and I went from zero to understand this kind of videos and more. Loved the app so much.
Duolingo was a complete failliure for me, full of mistakes and phrases that you will never use, I also paid premium for a month and it was the same.
I also started to use Hellotalk, a free app for language exchange, really nice.
And know I'm doing transcripts of videos like this, searching for the words that I still don't know in "reversocontext" and write the translations in a file with the differents uses and contexts for every word.
Yess that feeling is soo powerful and motivating
Everybody is saying that they talk so fast in the comments but i thought they talked in a pretty normal speed at least compared to most french people and french videos
I watched this several times with subtitles and even those scroll too fast.....This is definitely fast for a learner and I do speak some French have travelled to France over 20 times...no way do they speak that fast in the Charente region.
what is funny for me is the fact that the people who speak English as you, talk very fast and I have problems to understand a lof of videos in English. I think that's normal for you think they speak fast because you're not used to listen to a different language than English maybe.
Igor Lira I'm actually not english I'm dutch so yes I am used to listening in a different language than english
i think they were speaking normal pace. if you thought they spoke fast it's because of your level of french. i haven't learnt french in years, but they spoke clearly and of regular pace so it was fine to understand.
Trust me they talk really slow in comparison to native or even partial french speakers...they must have told them too.
I don't think they speak fast; it's just that whilst listening, people don't realize that they "run" their words together, just like any other language. For example, en anglais américain, you hear "I want to go to France" as "Iwanna gowda France". We don't pronounce every single letter like when we're reading. I actually learned that we do this when I began teaching English to Japanese people (J'habite au Japon maintenant). All of it has to do with knowing when to run multiple words together as one cohesive word. I teach my Japanese students this trick, and although it's difficult for them in the beginning, they start to get the hang of it. My goal is to have them sound like English is their first language, just like we want to speak French like it's our first.
You sound like a great teacher
French folk do speak really fast. CZcams has many French videos. But almost none of them has proper subtitles that would help people pick up or improve their French. If France wants français to be an important language like how it was in the past, more resources and study aids must be made available to non-french speaking people. A lot more french videos on CZcams should be properly subtitled in French (or at least English). I do think that French media is not doing enough to help people learn its wonderful language.
I actually started learning French through Duolingo, which is an American product. It's ironic that America, a country that is always stubbornly resistant to French culture, created a product that is by far the cheapest and most accessible way to learn French.
+thucydides Neo - Sure! And don't forget our Easy French playlist, which is actually produced by a french guy (Tony from Nice) to help people learn French :)
czcams.com/play/PLA5UIoabheFMYWWnGFFxl8_nvVZWZSykc.html
I am thankful for that too :)
Respectfully, I think you're confusing American political folly with the actual citizens. I'm French-American. I speak (terrible) French. Most people I know think very highly of France and French culture. They just aren't screaming it on TV
+thucydides Neo Duolingo was created by Guatemalan and Swiss guys. You are an ignorant moron.
Xlora Yaltova You should not take yourself seriously you dumbwit. I said it's an American product. It is created by an American company with head quarter in the US. Only in America does this kind of tech company and innovation possible. That's why IT entrepreneurs from all over the world come to America.

Learning French because I am moving within 2yrs. These videos will help me absorb it much faster. Taking lessons on CZcams as well. Going to make it happen.
Bonjour, je suis un lycéen coréen. D'habitude, je m'intéresse au paysage français, donc je regarde des vidéos et je laisse des commentaires.
7 years ago I stumbled across this video when it was first posted and wanted y’all to keep going with these... today you all are THRIVING! I love it! This has greatly helped me with my French.
Also, I hope Silia is well. ❤️
M too 😁
watching this in 0.5x.... hahaha :')
LOL
Jajajaja, omg, so true
LOL , AAAAAAAHH MY STOMACH
here's a few ideas for how to learn French
Decide exactly why you wish to speak it
Try to speak French in your everyday life
Decide which process works for you best.
(I learned about these and more on Mirykal french plan website )
oviwrites I forgot I could slow down the speed! That will actually help me.
In my opinion, the best way to learn French is to read newspapers, carry a dictionary and listen to French music & youtube videos (not educational). Having something tactile in your hand enhances the learning process, reading on a computer or tablet doesn't cut it.
is it really working??? i try, but this is very difficult language ;/
Agreed.
Practice with French speaking friends, I demand that all my French speaking friends speak only in French to me for the first hr, NO English permitted. It does work.
Are you for or against learning grammar? Thank you !
***** I have been listening to a lot of national anthems and memorized the lyrics without even trying because they're so catchy (specifically Georgia, South Africa, and Afghanistan), but the problem is I'm trying to learn French! The French anthem is nice but it just doesn't do it for me. Do you have any suggestions for French music I can listen to?
j'apprend beaucoup de chose grace a ces video, comme par exemple les gens definissent souvent les parisien comme pressé, remantique,... et aussi que nous somme tous pareille
French, Spanish and Italian have the same roots. They're all similiar so in most of the cases it will be easier for a Spanish-speaking and especially Italian-speaking (french and italian are really really close) to learn French. But if you want to learn french, give it a go. Everyone can learn :)
You are right, the problem is the pronunciation of the language many words are the same in Spanish and french.
Thank you so much Judith, Rita, Hélène and the whole team!! It used to sound impossible to understand for me but after 6 months I can understand almost everything with a little help of the french subtitles.
I'm traveling to Paris in september so I will keep studying harder!
Baisers et câlins à distance!

French : Your french is so good
Please upload more of these French from the streets videos! They are awesome! :)
I loved! When we have access to the real conversation (spoken by natives) we can focus on listen and we can learn without caring about grammar. Of course it is not easy! Especially when they talk very fast but with repetition, the process of learn starts to be natural, and we will speak automatically without think!
J'adore le français et je l'ai appris pendant 8 ans 😊 Je vais bientôt déménager à Paris 😄 et je suis impatient d'y être .. Je suis allemand😋
Thanks for uploading this! I'd love to see more.
I have a small channel and I am teaching French to mostly beginners, and I love the contents of your channel! I show the videos of Easy French to my students when I teach in different institutions...
Being a native French speaker, I have to say that they don't speak really fast. But I guess it's really hard for the learners :)
Yes it is hard for us learners - we're used to textbook french, a lot of us, and jumping to this more authentic french is a bit, ah, intimidating :)
When I learned English, at first I thought the English speaking people spoke fast, but when I became better at English, I could easily follow fast speakers. So it's not strange that natives also dont think they speak fast, same for the French people! Thouhg, yes, for learners it is really fast lol xD I had to set the speed on 0.5 to follow xD hopefully it gets better soon, when I get better at French too! (I'm a total beginner xD). Hi from the Netherlands! I go to France almost every summer haha, lovely country, but so little French people speak English aah, but that's why I'm learning French :D
Trost eh, they talk like anyone else I hear, not too fast actually.
Especially it´s hard to listen to the words while simultaneously watching the subtitles, because the French use so many letters to write their words, but pronounce so few of them. It´s just crazy compared to other languages like Spanish, which seems to be a lot easier, at least for me.
Trost J'apprends le français et ce n'est pas difficile.
Easy Languages please, make video with this girl 0:23, she speaks french beautifully, so melodic!
C'est la deuxième fois que je vois cette vidéo. La première fois c'était il y a un an et demi, à l'époque je l'ai écoutée avec grande difficulté. Mais cette fois-ci, comme par magie, j'ai tout compris sans regarder les sous-titres ! Merci Easy French pour toutes vos vidéos qui m'aident beaucoup à améliorer ma compréhension orale 🙏.
Great video! What a cool way to get a taste of the language while also learning about the city and its culture 🇫🇷
It’s exciting to notice myself become able to simply pick out where each individual word is, whereas before it didn't sound like anything. Im excited because it’s at this point I can begin to pick out words, and get a better grasp on the grammar. Learning vocabulary via flash cards is insanely helpful in beginning to learn a language! Thanks for the extensive and helpful series!
what kind of vocabulary do you like to learn first?
Anyone else noticed that the guy at 3:41 has like the most beautiful voice on earth? :D
Yes, I played that part again and again just to hear his voice
lukisIVIII moiii
Yeah, I agree. But found his french a little strange, i don't know exactly why hahahhaa
His french is realy strange haha
He seems to be foreigner
Many french sound like that xD they've got a nice accent
I am addicted to these lessons! They are really helping me speak more confidently. C'est vrai! J'habite en Melbourne, Australie. Excuse mistakes s'il vous plait!
Merci beaucoup pour la émission. J'adore Easy Languages.
I speak Russian and English fluently and I'm currently learning French. I noticed that when English speakers hear other languages talk, it sounds fast to them. I think it's only because of the amount of syllables compressed in a word which makes it sounds fast.. but really, we all talk a normal pace.
No Madam....it's not syllables but their is weired and not usuak
not at all mam..... Being humble I said and for every learner problems are different...may you get my point.
Christina G Bonjour! Comment alez vouz?? Je m'appelle Sara😊
I speak all of these 3 languages lmao
Cant wait to learn French its always something i wanted to do! :D
Après j'ai regardé cette vidéo,pense que les parisians sont toujours très contente :)J'y viendrai un jour .
I loved it, and more because it has subtitles in both languages.
I am French , I learn English and I begin to Zero . Paris is an beautiful city . Here we say " Paris is magic " The Parisian are not always very nice, but that's not the case for everyone. It is a city to visit at least once in his life, it's a lot of culture, museum, beautiful architecture and the night .... THE NIGHT, it transforms the city and there are few words to the describe . I think Paris is more beautiful at night. Another thing, the French do not speak English : s besides they are few.
Sorry for my faults
Très bien
Bravo!
Iam English and as I can see you shouldn't say *An beautiful* because *b* is not a vowel
You just need to know the five litters A E U O I
@@Emile540 what ?
I couldn't keep up, I'm not ready for France.
They talk really fast. It's hard for me since I'm a beginner haha.
*****
Yeah, I said that wrong. I know that they're not actually talking fast, it's just weird for me to hear it spoken like this because my teacher speaks to me and my class slower than usual because we're still learning. I know they're talking in a regular speed but I said it was fast because it was surprising to me when I hear it spoken.
+Lasagna Ballad Yeah My situation is much similar like yours, and I'm trying to learn the ''actual spoken'' french by watching the street interviews like this video, trust me, the more you watch and listen, the more understandable it is. for example in negative sentences they throw away the 'ne', and they use a lot of short form vocab. hope you won't give up
Bảo Trân
Whoa, really? I thought the 'ne' was used frequently. Thanks for telling me.
Lasagna Ballad You're welcome! in informal everyday French, nobody says 'ne' actually, for example 'Je parle pas japonais' is enough, you can check out the video 'how to sound cooler in French' of Damon and Jo, they mentioned the ''rules'' of spoken French :D
I had so much fun watching this because French is such a beautiful language💖
That covers the whole syllabus. Thanks and stay strong.
I love the French language! One of the most beautiful language ever, if not the most !!!
I really love this video. Wish there were more like this.

Why doesn't Easy French have its own channel? French is the second most-studied foreign language in the world, and has still maintained its status as a world language. Easy French deserves better.
the frensh is very dificult for the foreigners and I'm not sure that is the second language speaking in the world. I think it's the spanish language

Pour la France
The French language is beautiful, the most beautiful language of all BY FAR.........I am British.
I speak English and Spanish fluently with a decent amount of French. French is the funnest to speak, but Spanish is just so smooth and ethereal. English, however, sounds the most proper and best to talk.

arnst69 try Italian. Smoothest of all. They are all from a same category though. Romance language. French, Spanish and Italian

Peter Rabbit French is also beyond one of the smoothest, ethereal and may I mention one of the HOTTEST languages ever.

Nobody deserves to learn this beautiful and elegant language if they're not willing to work hard to understand and to speak it. I'm referring to myself, pathetic attempts so far. Need to up my game for the rewards are worth it!

Learning French on duolingo and hearing them speak is sweet!!
Es muy bello el Frances, pero las lenguas que tienen más expansión y uso, son el English, el Mandarin, y el Español. Son definitivamente las tres lenguas del futuro próximo.
According to the international language community, French is becoming one of the most spoken language in the world and by 2050 it should overtake Spanish for the podium just behind Mandarin and English.
Not because french population is growing quickly but actually population from their former last colonial empire which skyrocketed during the last decades.

I’m having a heart attack trying to keep it. I’m genuinely stressed out 💀💀
I've been learning french for about six months now, I can read and translate it, speak the language a little bit, can write it but sometimes i mess the words up (like je and j'ai, sounds the same to me), can pronounce the french "R", but when i listen to native speakers, it takes about a minute for me to comprehend.
It felt good when i hear French accents.. idk why.. sound soo smoothing
