Your videos have inspired me to make a hunter. Just got to 70 yesterday. I'm curious what you think about the other hunter spec's for pvp? Reason I'm asking is that as I leveled, I've enjoyed survival way more than I thought I would. Is it viable for world pvp & random bg's or no?

I don't think that's true in a universal sense. I think that people who think this are coming primarily from 2 perspectives:
1. Rated: Rated PvP has it's place but it's less about *actual* skill than it is about formulas. Some comp's rofl-stomp by definition, e.g., there's a reason RMP has been a top performing comp almost forever: it's the comp and what it brings to the battlefield. And that's another element that deserves mention: the battlefields are limited. You know when you go into any map exactly what you can, and can't do in that map. All the LOS points are know, and there's no element of surprise in terms of positioning, escape routes, etc.
To understand rated PvP this way is to understand by analogy the difference between an actual fight, and a boxing match. In boxing there are definite rules that you cannot violate without penalty. In contrast, in a real fight, you'll choke, gouge eyes, punch groin, etc. to do whatever you can/must in order to win the fight.
Same is true with rated: how a particular comp or class or spec compares to the meta is just that: a thumbs-up or -down in relation to the rated 'game' of combat.
Contrast that with world pvp, where there aren't any rules. You fight wherever someone attacks you. It may be a 1v1 or a many-v1 situation. You have to think in that immediate moment about your terrain, your cd's not being fully reset at the beginning of combat, etc. And, there aren't any rules about composition, either the number of people or the 'meta' because in world pvp, there isn't any meta: there's only thinking fast in whatever your situation happens to be in the moment. And this is much closer to a 'proving grounds' in terms of how well a class can perform, and also in how skilled a player is in PvP.
2. Camaraderie: The other reason a lot of people will have a view on a particular class or spec is simply to be included in a group, to 'fit in' to whatever other people are saying. And, this is even more true if they admire particular high-rated (see "Rated" above) players who also happen to be streaming on twitch, putting out CZcams content, etc. These people act as echo chambers, parroting whatever their favorite players say or think. Unlike the "Rated" group, this is more a matter of psychological conformity than it is any real understanding or experience with the class or spec in question.
There are other lesser reasons for opinions about classes and specs. Maybe someone you dislike in the public venue plays that class/spec and so you think badly about the spec because it's associated with the person you dislike. Or, maybe someone who plays that spec rofl-stomped you and no matter how you tried, you couldn't get revenge on them, etc.
But, after all is said and done, I think every class and spec bring strengths to battle, and the challenge is to master that spec well enough to benefit from those strengths.
There are many people who showcase world pvp content online, proving that just about any class/spec can dominate if the player has a good sense of environmental awareness and has invested the time to get good with that spec.
Well, that was a long reply. But, sometimes, I think it's worth elaborating a bit because one thing I've noticed about CZcams comments is that they're often little more than a 'one and done' exchange: one person says their piece, another person says theirs, and then either it goes silent or, often, it devolves into insults toward each other. I don't find this in any way useful or entertaining. I think such conversations usually reflect much more poorly on the people who have them, than they do on the people who end up on the receiving end of such insults.
