    In your other video about Hibiscus i mentioned that i bought the followings but i dont know how to go about the ratio that mentioned on the pacage ??
    I got
    1- 'Fish emulsion fertilizer 5-1-1 '
    2- Maxicrop soluble seaweed powder 0-0-17
    3- Bone meal 6-8-0

    • @GardeningUpbeat
      @GardeningUpbeat  Před 2 lety

      @lili M, Really sorry for the late reply...please do the below -
      1. Fish emulsion fertilizer 5-1-1 = 2-3 tablespoons of in 1 gallon of water
      2- Maxicrop soluble seaweed powder 0-0-17 = 10 grams [2 teaspoons = 0.67 tablespoon]
      3- Bone meal 6-8-0 - 5 grams
      You can apply the same once in 7-10 days and you should get good result. Please also note that, this does is for one 8-10 inch wider and deeper pot. If you are using bigger pot, please increase the dose accordingly.
      All those components are Organic. So, even if we apply higher dose, it's not going to make a bit issue. But while fertilizing any plants, it's always better to start with low. I hope that helps and I wish, I could've replied you earlier. Wish you all the best :-)

    Yesterday I just repotted hibiscus plant because the leaves were light yellowish green for past 4/5 months. I tried fertilizing as you have in your videos, but it didn't improve. There was absolutely no new growth. So finally I thought of using new soil. When repotting I noticed there was a small basket similar to which is used for growing orchids. 2roots were stuck in the holes. Somehow with great difficulty I removed the basket and repotted. Maybe my plant condition was because of the orchid pot. Now I will wait for some days and see how it grows. Could it be because of the basket in which the nursery people grew the cutting that it's growth was stunted.

    • @GardeningUpbeat
      @GardeningUpbeat  Před 3 lety +2

      @Geetha Jawalkar, For potted plants, we need to change the soil on a regular basis and you did a good thing by doing it. It's not the case and nowadays, we can often find similar pots for most of the new Hibiscus plants that we buy from Nursery. The roots of Hibiscus is strong enough to break those tiny pots and they would do eventually. Since you have provided fresh soil recently, it would take somedays to see the improvement and after 30-40 days, you should see some changes. Good luck :-)

    Dear Sir, why the newly produced small leaves in one of my Hibiscus plant is also turning to yellow, along with the large leaves. As a result the hibiscus plant only have stems with some leaves only at the top end of the stem. The buds are turning yellow and falling off. In another plant leaves are turning yellow, besides the buds are not fully blooming and instead half blooming and dries out. Please note the hibiscus are potted in plastic pot and kept on concrete open floor, and the temperature generally in summer is more than 40 degree Celsius. Please advise what to do?

      @Mystical ses, Thank you for watching my videos :-) Look like it's an Anthracnose attack. It's a disease that is commonly seen on Mangoes and many other plants. You would need to use fungicide and provide plenty of Sunlight. If you are able to provide plenty of Sunlight, plant won't die even if you don't use any fungicide, Good luck!

    Sir, I have a hibiscus plant which I bought from nursery in Mid feb. It was growing well and blooming well. All of a sudden I started noticing that flower size started reducing (I'm not sure if it's the onset of summer as the temp in pune is hovering around 40 degree.) I felt it was time to fertilize and increase my soil strength so added some vermi compost by slightly digging the sides of the pot. I also added about 5 gm of epsom salt and a tsp of DAP granules. and watered the plant well. due heat I try watering the plant twice now. but all of sudden after fertilizing the leaves have started turning yellow
    I believe I have over fertilized it. what can i do now? is there anything I can do the help. my plant. buds aren't coming and leaves are turning yellow. please help.

    • @GardeningUpbeat
      @GardeningUpbeat  Před 2 lety +1

      Vermicompost and Epsom Salt is fine..but you have used high amount of DAP and whatever is happening, definitely it's because of excess DAP. For DAP, 5 -7 crystals is enough for one 8-10 inch pot.
      What can be done - Practically saying, we need to change the soil immediately. But won't be a good idea as plant is in stress. You can do one thing - thoroughly flush it out with water (more than 2-3 times) and make sure, water is draining well and take a gap before repeating the procedures (it's like removing the heavy stains from clothes). Hibiscus is hardy plant and your plant should revive soon. For BEST results on Hibiscus, please watch this video - czcams.com/video/GpljRlcNWeA/video.html
      Good luck n Sir is not required actually!

    Why is the leaves drying one by one n turning yellow....will the leaves come again...

    • @GardeningUpbeat
      @GardeningUpbeat  Před 2 lety

      It's because of the reasons (either one or more) as shared in the video. No, they won't turn to green again..but if you fertilize, new leaves would grow well. I would recommend you to watch this video once - czcams.com/video/GpljRlcNWeA/video.html

    Sir....I hv a hibiscus plant (desi)which is abt 3ft tall in a 15" inch pot. It gave very few flrs. Now it's not flwrg at all. The buds if at all forms turns yellow and drops off but the plant is healthy with green leaves. It's with me frm 1 year. What to do?

    • @GardeningUpbeat
      @GardeningUpbeat  Před 3 lety

      @Suchithra Hariharan, One of the most common issues and very frustrating..I can understand. There are many reason - 1. More or less water 2. Lack of Nutrients 3. Sunlight issue 4. Pest attack. Now, please see which one may be the issue in your case. Very soon I would upload one video with before-after result as I got the similar issue in one of my plant and fixing it. Thank you and Sir is not required actually :-)

    • @GardeningUpbeat
      @GardeningUpbeat  Před 3 měsíci +1

      May I know from where you got the recipe? It's not mine as I don't have any video about Liquid mustard cake solution. Anyway, nothing to worry about as your plant is in ground. Perhaps, the dose was very concentrate one..If branches are long, you can prune a bit and after somdays it would be growing well. Also, if you are worried too much, just water a lot (2-3 times) in the area where your plant is growing. We need to be more careful while growing in pots comparing to plants growing in ground directly. Thank you!

      @@GardeningUpbeat Yes my local nursery suggested once in 15 days mustard cak. I soaked 50 gram of cake in water and kept for 7 days. Then in 10 litre water i added 1 glass. Used it on all plants. I live in Hyderabad. So yes i am as per your suggestion now starting 3 times watering as heat is too bad here. Thank you for replying Sir.

    • @GardeningUpbeat
      @GardeningUpbeat  Před 3 měsíci +1

      Once in 15 days is perfect and ratio is also perfect (I use higher dose though..he he) You did everything perfectly and Mustard cake can't be the reason for yellow leaves. It's because of High Temp....What to do, even in my place it's quite hot too, rainfall hasn't started yet..Finally one request - I would appreciate if you don't call me Sir (I say it for everyone)..Plz feel free to call me by my name (Chandan Dutta) or Mr. Gardening Upbeat or anything you prefer, thank you!

    • @GardeningUpbeat
      @GardeningUpbeat  Před rokem

      Can be..because whenever we overdose anything, roots usually get burned. Less roots means, plants won't be able to uptake nutrients and water which can cause yellow leaves.
