- The Old Ways is an enchanting Medieval song with strong Celtic vibes. I've been watching Vikings Valhalla and got inspired to write this. Hope you enjoy!

Yess this is great! I got some recent inspiration to write tribal stuff as well when I was playing some AC Valhalla. Also set in the viking age.
Thank you so much!! I would literally ask myself "what would Lisette do?" when I got stuck with this one 😄 I drew inspiration from some of your tavern songs as well. Thanks for listening!
Do you have a link for the artwork?
I’m currently going through and listening to all of your music! Absolutely loving it, would you ever consider doing music commissions :)? I understand if not! Just thought it was worth a shot yknow? ^^
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoy it :D Sure! I'd definitely be open to commissions. Feel free to send me an email if you're interested

This is incredible, do you have any advice for a newer composer? Making something like this as a new composer just seems so far away, but just wow, great job!
Thank you! I myself am a fairly new composer so feel free to take this with a grain of salt 😅 I would advise improvising and recording what you play. I usually start by improvising on my keyboard and recording everything. After a few minutes I go through and see if anything stands out or inspires me. If it does, I cut everything else and do that process over again using the new musical idea I liked. I hope that helps!
@@jojocomps I second this! Also if I can shoot in. Finish every idea. The hardest part is putting a period, but this can be trained. Col Walder has an everyday challenge where he writes something new EACH DAY. I got a lot of inspiration just seeing the daily ritual of writing.
@@jojocomps Heck I forgot to also ask this! But what instruments did you use, or what vsts? The sound is really good and sounds super professional so I'm asuming you also fine tuned some things too!
@@simpumba3798 I use Logic for my DAW. The Celtic harp, Celtic tin whistle, erhu, and orchestral kit (percussion) comes from the Logic instrument library. For piano I use EW Pianos and for the english horn I use EW Hollywood Woodwinds. The Alpenhorn is from Ra and the string/pad instrument at the beginning is from Goliath's new age ensembles.
I didn't do too much fine tuning with this one, mainly volume automation and then using a compressor and limiter. Whew that was a lot! 😄
