Tari Pucuk Bang is a group kreasi composition by Bapak Nyoman Cerita of Banjar Sengguan, Singapadu, Bali. With modified agem (body positions) from traditional Balinese dance, it evokes flowering and blooming of beauty and maturity, inspired by a hibiscus flower. The second half of the composition makes full use of the costume's 'petals' to make human flower forms. Ibu Cok Pring, a fanstastic dance teacher and holder of Arja tradition (a form of traditional Balinese song and drama), leads Sanggar Puri Saraswati. Participants in the dance include Ibu Cok's daughter, 4 of Ibu Cok's Balinese students, and one Indian-American student. It was a beautiful experience to practice and make this video together, in the halaman of Sanggar Puri Saraswati at Ibu Cok's home.
