Yes its a succulent, but canbe kept in water.. if we make sure the brown stem of jade is only dipped in water, we can keep it non rotten for longer day.. i have few jade stem in water for more than one year mam.. you too can try doing it, but make sure the stem cutting should be little older one, only the brown part shouldbe dipped in water..
